    I never used an air fryer before & I looked at videos like these to make my decision.
    I got the Insta Vortex Plus with air filters & it seemed to be in the top 3 from all the reviews I've seen. I liked this one because of the window & filter. This is the perfect size & it’s not very loud. The microwave is louder. I like that it has a pre heat & tells ya when to add food & when to turn it over. I tried egg rolls & hot pockets that had air frying instructions that came out good. I tried frozen burritos that had no air fry instructions but I’m still playing with it to get the right time.

    My decision to buy the Ninja Max came from having a BBQ at my daughter's home. She used it to cook roast potatoes, chicken, boiled peas, roast pumpkin and roasted mushrooms. it was all cooked to perfection. The next morning she served crispy bacon on toast with avocado spread/ That was the decider, If it all comes together and solid as a rock, why buy anything else when it works. I also got it on special. Love it. Number two 2 choice, No! Number one.

    I bought an "Instant Vortex Plus 5.7l" ( I reckon 5.7 l is EU speak for the US 6 quarts) only the day before yesterday. I hadn't seen this review then. I bought it because it looked the right size and power to do what I need for me and my two, still at home adult sons, and it was on a deal at Argos (UK) and I'd got some gift vouchers to redeem. Well I love it! Getting the timings finessed is critical. It does cook faster - but some things are only 2/3rds the time not 1/2 the time of other methods. But it really is practical and good looking. Everything I've cooked so far is better tasting than when I did it in either my George Foreman Grill or my Hitachi Halogen Cooker. So good result.

      Probably worth knowing (as the black one is a bit cheaper) there's 2 versions, it's easy to think they're the same and the silver one maybe just looks well, silver, but the black one does not have the 'odour erase' filters. I don't think it's a big deal but some may pay the extra tenner for that functionality or be disappointed when they order the black one and find it doesn't have it...

    The Instant Vortex Plus toaster oven disappointed in proofing and burned bread even with reduced baking time. However, it excelled at toasting, roasting with the rotisserie attachment, and air frying. The user interface and touch screen control were impressive. A downside is the difficulty in cleaning the baked-on grease on the bottom element and base tray. Despite the baking issues, it still provided enjoyment and versatility in other functions.

      Depends on your needs & the size of your family we are 2 adults & 2 kids a traditional sunday roast would entail prep of the chicken & veg, pre heat oven, cook on a couple of baking trays remove & rest, carve & serve, total time 2 hours. We have a twin basket air fryer, chicken goes in one basket potatoes & veg in the other, set 2 different start times to finish at the same time, rest & serve total time 1 hour, less washing up & so much less energy consumption. We have a bread making machine, air fryer, slow cooker/pressure cooker combi, microwave & kettle, rice cooker, we hardly use our old oven any more & save money on energy.

      (1) price (2) space dimensions (3) wattage, the higher the heat, the crispier the food (4) square or round basket (5) coating ; ceramic is safe, teflom is not (6) presets or not ; remember presets on microwaves you still need to reset the timing (7) whether a dehydrator feature or not is included
      After you list your needs, then you can narrow it down.

      @@MrBreast.OfficiaI , size MATTERS. 7.6 liter = approx 8 quarts, that is way too big for a lot of apartment size kitchens, OR if you share kitchen space with a roommate. If an appliance is TOO SMALL then it won't serve a family. At the end of the day, SIZE matters or it's useless for your needs.

  • @user-lz6dm5lk9y
    @user-lz6dm5lk9y Год назад +11

    Great video, thanks! I am brand new to air fryers. Heard of them before, of course, but I never felt compelled to invest in one. I love fried foods, but I have not fried food since the 1980s. I do not want to be bothered with the clean-up afterward which is considerable. I also do not want to be bothered with disposing of used oil. So, once I again I thought about getting an air fryer. I was nearly sold on the Dash compact model for its relatively low price point and small footprint, not to mention tons of good reviews, but someone told me the non-stick coating would peel off much sooner rather than later and better to invest in a more expensive model, so I began looking to see what was out there.
    I was torn between the Cosori Pro LE 5 and the Ninja. I never even considered the Instant. I ended up ordering the Cosori. I think the tipping point for me was the shape of the basket. I think the square basket with the rounded edges will hold more food, and reviews indicated it was a good brand. The Corsori also looks very nice and is very quiet. I have not received mine yet. I hope I love it. As I said, though, it was the square basket that was the tipping point for me. If the Ninja had Cosori's basket, I probably would have opted for the Ninja. The Cosori is relatively small and can be left on the countertop, too, and that was a big factor in my decision.

    • @alesioser
      @alesioser Год назад +1

      Do you like the Cosori?

    • @user-lz6dm5lk9y
      @user-lz6dm5lk9y Год назад +11

      @@alesioser Yes! It seems to be a quality brand. It functions well. I have used it now to make frozen fries of various types; frozen onion rings; frozen veggie chicken fillets; frozen veggie burgers; salmon fillets; and, real chicken thighs. Only the frozen veggie burgers seem to turn out better pan fried on the stove top. I also sliced fresh onions and caramelised them in the air fryer. The onion, too, seem to turn out better on the stove top. Everything else I have made turned out very nicely including sliced take and bake French baguettes which only take 4 minutes to toast up. I add garlic butter to the baguette slices afterward and serve them with a nice salad. It beats heating up the oven during the hot weather just to toast the baguette slices.
      The machine works well. It seems to be quality made. It looks attractive for what it is--has a nice sleekness about it. It runs relatively quietly. I have to preheat it for most foods. It depends more on the recipe itself as to how well the food turns out, but that is true whether you are using a regular stove or a grill or any other type of appliance.
      I have made two types of salmon fillets in the air fryer, one with a honey mustard glaze and the other with salmon seasoning mix---both turned out well. I also made two types of boneless, skinless chicken thighs in it---one that was just brushed with a bit of oil and then seasoned, and the other one that was marinated overnight in seasoned buttermilk then then the pieces were coated in seasoned flour and air fried. The first one was not very impressive taste-wise. However, the marinated chicken thighs turned out incredibly juicy and delicious although the flour did not seem to adhere to the chicken very well. Still, the seasoned buttermilk chicken's taste is outstanding---absolutely delicious. I marinate two pieces for about 12 hours in the refrigerator. That is enough for a meal for one.
      The one complaint (if you can call it a complaint) I have is that the 5 qt usually requires me to batch cook. Today, for example, I made the buttermilk marinated chicken thighs. They are pretty large, so I can only comfortably fit one into the basket at a time. I air fried at 360 for a total of 20 minutes. I turned the chicken over half way through the cooking time, and it turned out so delicious and juicy. I wanted to have sweet potato fries with the chicken, but there is no way I can fry the chicken and the fries at the same time, so I fried a chicken thigh and ate it whilst I fried the sweet potatoes at 360 for 18 minutes. The fries also turned out beautifully. I ate them paired with garlic aioli whilst I air fried a second chicken thigh which also turned out juicy and delicious.
      Since the chicken and the fries cook at the same temperature for slightly different times, I would have preferred to fry them together, but there is not enough room. I would have to fry a small chicken thigh and fewer fries in order to fit both into the basket. Instead, I batch fry. It is all good, but my next air fryer will be a 6.8 qt. I think if you are cooking for 2 or more people, you need as large an air fryer as you can find and afford. If I were cooking for 2 people every day, I would definitely opt for at least a 9 qt air fryer.
      Hope this helps. 🙂

    What to buy? How many do you want to feed in one hit? So size is important. We have just purchased a 4.2l Tefal Airfryer that is good for two of us. How complicated do you want it to be? How much space do you have to keep it? Some are very large. Put simply it is a small container that heats up quickly so you cook stuff at a lower temperature and time than using an oven. For most people it is an addition not a replacement for a traditional oven. Whilst the novelty lasts for our most recent purchase we have seen a drop in our electricity usage. So a new toy that is not costing too much to run.

      The instant pot has non-stick trays that are made of Teflon. Teflon is no longer made with PFOA as of 2013. I do however believe that some of the ninja airfryers have PTFE coated drawers (i.e. AF400) - better to check each model specifically though.

      I have the Ninja AF400UK model with the two drawers, I am so glad I purchased it. Had it since October and only used my big oven twice since, due to having to cook in a large dish for capacity. Highly recommend.

      I bought the Cosori model featured in this video about a year ago and it put out this awful smell when it was on. I thought that the smell would go away with use but it never did and it made our food taste awful. Between the bad smell that ruined the taste of our food and how loud it was, I agree don’t buy the cosori!
