Typing "my condolences" seems like just blank and meaningless words only said to be kind. My heart truly hurts for all these people that became unintentional victims. 6 lives on the plane destroyed and countless others affected. There just arent the right words to convey my sorrow
the black box 8 feet under just shows the force alone when it hit the ground. probably atomized all the jet fuel on impact and whatever oxygen was left in the tanks just lit the candle
Oxygen doesn't burn. It does help other stuff around it burn faster. If you light a match in a room full of O2 the match goes poof immediately, and then nothing else happens.
This occurred less than a minute after take off. Has there been any word on what caused it technically and was it something that couldn’t be spotted before take off?
There was a report of them investigating a spot between the crash and the runway, which I would speculate might be something that fell off the plane prior to the loss of control. The first question they ask at these investigations is "did the entire plane make it to this spot?" From what I have gathered, there is still a discussion as to whether the light from the descending plane is from fire or the landing lights, and if from the landing lights, which are located on the deployed landing gear, why hadn't the gear been stowed with them at 1500 ft elevation and traveling well over 200 kts while slowly climbing. I have seen speculation that they knew something was amiss and were in the aviate phase of trying to return, hence the left turn movement as opposed to the atc directed right turn to follow the flight plan, and which might explain why the gear was still deployed if that turns out to be the case. The rule is to aviate, navigate, and then communicate when you have time, and when aviating, to head to the nearest airport, which at this point was the one behind them. Whatever problem was plaguing them, they had neither the time nor the altitude (or control of aircraft) to address it.
@@robertslugg8361 Will probably take about five years, but essentially this is exactly what they will say happened! I don't buy the stall theory, or the spatial disorientation of two experienced pilots, who were only a minute into their flight! Something went wrong with that jet, almost immediately!
When i heard 4:27 I am honestly glad they've made it known theres services opened specifically to help the people who are experiencing distress from the event... It means a lot to a lot of people. Some may not even know they're stressed from it, perhaps even just knowing theres someone to talk about the experience may indirectly help also
I've been asking this question since this happened and I continually get dog piled on but this is a serious question. I live 2 blocks away, are there any videos of where the engines, the landing gear or the wings went to? Because they were none on the streets last night. Usually a plane crash has plane parts am I right? and I'm not talking about the scraps found in Roosevelt mall parking lot, which doesn't make sense either. Why is there no video's or pics of the actual plane parts. again NOT the pieces of scrap that are in the mall parking lot
Also, I have seen videos of pieces of the jet on the street and I know that many of the police, fire fighters and government officials were there all night Friday doing clean up. I'm proud of my city and it is been handled. Philly Strong 💪 and GO BIRDS 💚🦅🏈

A script she wrote. I suppose you think that Agent Orange is more articulate? Speaks off of the top of his demonic head? She is a GREAT mayor. A GREAT AND RESPECTFUL LEADER.
I'd thought that also until I read, in a comment above, that the "Black Box is usually at the back of the aircraft." Perhaps that's usually the least damage area.
So I asked ChatGPT the following question. You said: Can you tell me what speed a learjet 55 needs to be travelling during a crash, to penetrate 2 feet of concrete and 6 feet of soil ChatGPT said: Determining the exact speed a Learjet 55 would need to penetrate 2 feet of concrete and 6 feet of soil during a crash involves complex physics, as the forces required depend on a variety of factors including the aircraft's mass, structural integrity, angle of impact, and the materials involved (concrete and soil). However, based on basic principles of crash dynamics, such an event would require the plane to be traveling at a very high speed-far beyond typical crash scenarios. Most commercial jet crashes involve speeds of around 100 to 300 knots (115 to 345 mph), but the penetration of such dense materials would likely require an impact speed at the higher end of that spectrum. To truly calculate this, engineers would use detailed simulations or experiments that account for aerodynamics, the structural strength of the aircraft, and the resistance of the concrete and soil. It’s safe to say that the crash speed needed would likely exceed the plane's typical cruising speed, and the consequences would be catastrophic given the need to break through two feet of concrete and six feet of soil.
If you look closely, I think half of the airplane is underground. It nosedived with such force that the earth around it expanded around for the fuselage to penetrate into the ground and then collapsed back into itself. 100% bet they will going to be digging up a giant hole in the area to retrieve what’s left of the plane!
@@theneverwas2835 Exactly! You got it. Funny how the only debris they show is a big piece of the fuselage that just happens to have a medical symbol on it but isn’t burnt or blackened from the fireball explosion…

Mayor Parker is awesome! I love her.
03:11 😢 im praying this isn't what i think it is being blurred out on the the top of Dunkin Donuts.
I can't imagine the fear everyone felt. Hearing the explosion, seeing the fire, i can't fathom the ideas going through their head as im sure they thought this was the end. Its incredible to watch and process. Typing "my condolences" seems like just blank and meaningless words only said to be kind. My heart truly hurts for all these people that became unintentional victims. 6 lives on the plane destroyed and countless others affected. There just arent the right words to convey my sorrow
I'm astounded the Black box survived. That was a VERY hard impact.
Do you guys know if the person walking trough the fire on that video on X died or still alive ? Terrible disaster, so sad! 😔
I like the mayor she reminds me of a friend we had she had to go back to take care of her mom in Philadelphia she was ill.
the black box 8 feet under just shows the force alone when it hit the ground. probably atomized all the jet fuel on impact and whatever oxygen was left in the tanks just lit the candle
Oxygen doesn't burn. It does help other stuff around it burn faster. If you light a match in a room full of O2 the match goes poof immediately, and then nothing else happens.
I can't comprehend the time. It's less than a minute. CRAZY
So the mayor just stated they would NOT release the names and that would be misinformation if you heard names.
This occurred less than a minute after take off. Has there been any word on what caused it technically and was it something that couldn’t be spotted before take off?
Spatial disorientation or a faulty yaw damper, or lack of activating the yaw damper..
Oxygen under pressure is a bomb.
Life Flights have a huge accident rate.
A friend did this. She got tired of her friends dying…. She Quit.
😔 the things we overlook. Damn. Thanks for that reminder.

An oxygen tank doesn't explode. It becomes a projectile.

Eight feet inside a crater...
How the f..k did that black box survive that impact.
It's the Black Box! It always survives!
Science, or physics or something. Not all us Americans are stupid AF.

They’re designed to survive major crashes. That’s the whole point.

When i heard 4:27 I am honestly glad they've made it known theres services opened specifically to help the people who are experiencing distress from the event... It means a lot to a lot of people.
Some may not even know they're stressed from it, perhaps even just knowing theres someone to talk about the experience may indirectly help also
I'm surprised the blackbox survived
Well, they do build them.tough, but yes, somewhat surprised myself!
It has to be built to survive if its supposed to have recordings and answers on what caused the crash.
how the heck did that cockpit voice recorder survive a impact like that? that to me is a miracle!
It hit the ground at 510mph. They're spread over several blocks.
The plane hit that ground at over 500+ mph so everything got smashed into pieces
Also, I have seen videos of pieces of the jet on the street and I know that many of the police, fire fighters and government officials were there all night Friday doing clean up. I'm proud of my city and it is been handled. Philly Strong 💪 and GO BIRDS 💚🦅🏈
The other thing I haven't heard is anything about the recovery of the bodies from the plane . what happened to the remains.
The NTSB documents the location then picks them up for forensic analysis.
There's literally a body that landed on the rooftop of Van's Nail salon here in Philly. The person was ejected from the plane before it hit the ground
Some of the passengers ejected before impact?
You round heads are coming out of the woodwork on this one..🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
if god was real he wouldn't let this happen all you're prayers going absolutely nowhere

SO SAD!! RIP!!
Why nobody is asking if the bodies have been found and recovered ????
Uhhhh
There are no bodies to recover, mate ….
What bodies. They were vapourised....
Full fuel in a Lear55 is around 1000 gallons and probably 98% of it hit the ground with the plane. There was likely nothing to recover.
This is getting so weird and scary, that so many air accidents are happening now 😢😢
"Heartfelt" words that mayor reads directly from a script.

What is the black box made of??? Its amazing that they found anything, thay plane came in like a meteorite.
48 hours to find the blackbox at the bottom of the crater? Wouldn't that have been the first place that was checked?
I'd thought that also until I read, in a comment above, that the "Black Box is usually at the back of the aircraft." Perhaps that's usually the least damage area.
Was probably too hot to check till now.
It was likely buried underground from the impact!
The crater was also full of water before, too.
@@chadm9715 How fast would you jump into a crater that had several hundred gallons of jet fuel burning inside it?
I feel like the pilot had something to do with this. ATC couldn’t reach them in comms🤨
This is sad AF 😢
That corner will never be the same. I wont stand there again..😢
So I asked ChatGPT the following question.
You said:
Can you tell me what speed a learjet 55 needs to be travelling during a crash, to penetrate 2 feet of concrete and 6 feet of soil
ChatGPT said:
Determining the exact speed a Learjet 55 would need to penetrate 2 feet of concrete and 6 feet of soil during a crash involves complex physics, as the forces required depend on a variety of factors including the aircraft's mass, structural integrity, angle of impact, and the materials involved (concrete and soil).
Did they actually find any remains of the people on board ? What happens when it makes a crater like that ?
If you look closely, I think half of the airplane is underground. It nosedived with such force that the earth around it expanded around for the fuselage to penetrate into the ground and then collapsed back into itself. 100% bet they will going to be digging up a giant hole in the area to retrieve what’s left of the plane!
there are storm drains that run that sidewalk up and down cottman ave - maybe punched into the storm drain tunnel on that side of the street
I can't believe the black box survived.
Black box is ray cyst.
Did they also find everyone's plastic IDs. They usually show up within the first ten minutes.
@@theneverwas2835 Exactly! You got it. Funny how the only debris they show is a big piece of the fuselage that just happens to have a medical symbol on it but isn’t burnt or blackened from the fireball explosion…
That's ridiculous. Do you think the whole thing would be burnt up? Look how fast it hit the ground,of course, pieces will fly off of the plane. That's the dumbest thing I've read in awhile
As long as the plastic id's did not burn with the rest of the plane.
the bodies didnt burn they exploded into a million pieces

How did they get the debris out of the hole so fast? Guess the NTSB didn't want to wait on that?
