Exactly. Oregon is solid pretty much all around. I'm having trouble getting that in a few Alabama fans' heads, but they'll find out once they get rolled by 20+ in the NC game (assuming they make it there).
Yea I've never seen a team with that much speed....ever. Even on defense Oregon is really underrated. And don't even get me started on Mariota, that guy can play. And good luck the rest of the year (not that y'all need it).
Helfrich is off to a good start. I will always love Chippers but I like that Helfrich is low key and doesnt draw attention to himself. He shows his coaching by the play on the field.
Oregon has an older running coach that teaches a Speed School, that's why they are so fast. All the new and fancy stuff is on the outside of the players.
We wanted Bama last season. The students do all sorts of things to try and get under the opposing team's skin. Some hilarious, some not-so-hilarious. Regardless, they just created a "storyline". Oregon's been burned by not having good enough "storylines" to be voted into the big games. Bama vs ND, Miami vs Nebraska, Ohio State vs ND, Oregon doesn't have that "historic matchup" to draw on. So, they created their own storyline. Those chants WILL resonate with voters. It actually already has.
It would have been nice to see my Vols have played better on offense. The game still would have been a loss for us, but the score might have been more respectable. Oh well.... it's in the past now. And I must say, this year's Oregon team might just be the best team ever in cfb... And I mean that. I really don't think the Ducks will have a close game all year (and that includes the NC game against Alabama, because it will happen).

If our field goals were blocked, and De'Anthony Thomas had blocked his man yet Mariota still got tackled, then yeah I would agree with you. But in reality Oregon was still better than Stanford that game. Did they win? No. Were they smarter at the time? No. But were they better? Yes. I give props to Stanford, but in fairness, Oregon did under perform that game.
Somebody commented that mariota needs to learn to stay in the pocket and throw instead of running around too much, well it looks like to me he's really good and poise being in the pocket passer 456 yards passing

The only two teams I saw in that comment was Stanford and Washington. However Washington is going to get a reality check real soon. Tomorrow, and next week. As for Stanford, they main problem we had against them, is that we were not passing enough. Everything Chip did was predicated on the run, In my opinion, Helfrich passes more, which will be a key factor on Nov. 7. And yes, you're right about Oregon getting airheaded, but it's not like Stanford can't do that too you know.
They are ranked #5, and they beat us once in OT. The last two times we beat them 50 something to 30 something. That proves how little attention people actually pay to the PAC-12. Not only that, but the missed block...well..I need not say more than that. LOL. Everyone says "you gotta beat Stanford first". Before 2012 no one said shit about Stanford, but because of that one game, suddenly Stanford is this big road block?
