Trying something new here, Seasons
Season 1 will be about the new Charticulator new Custom Visual
So pleased you're doing this, been interested in Charticulator and will be following along with you. Thank you :)
Hope you enjoy it!
Same here!
11:32 - 12:31 that just made everything crystal clear. Thumbs up.
Look forward to next videos in the series. The running commentary as you built the visual was very helpful.
Glad you enjoyed it!
29:35 - 'Segoe UI' will work if you type it in, but it's far from ideal from a UX perspective.
Great Point. I didn't know you could type in things.
Can you give me the link of Episode 1 wheein you discussed fact and dimesional tables
I think it is here: ruclips.net/video/97OEAGrGiNI/видео.html
Thank you for your very understanding explanations about Charticulator. I will follow the next videos.
You are most welcome
When I resizing a visual with two Glyphs - it only resizing the first Glyph and not the second. Is there a way to solve this?
Great stuff. I like the video and can't wait for the other videos. COuld you please make it a little shorter if possible?
Can anybody tell me why is that guide along y axis is added and erased again??
Is there a way to have a rounded corner rectangle glyph
a maximum value can be set?
This is great, thank you!
You're very welcome!
Hi how can change the rectangle to vertically
Thank you! Power Bi tips always give me exciting news and updates in the first place. Looking forward to next parts. By the way. I hope the interaction is also working after the visual creation ?
I have not talked about this yet. I’ll do some research on this and see if can dive into this topic as well.
That's absolutely fantastic. These guys are champions! Which team is developing it?
This team: charticulator.com/about.html
My 'Create chart' button is grayed out. Any ideas?
Does Charticulator work with multiple tables between which a relationship exists?
Yes, but the data that is sent from Power BI to Charticulator always acts as if the tables are megred into one large table. This is why I typically start by building a table visual first then after I see the data I can understand it's shape. From here I can start building the Charticulator visual.
@@PowerBITips Many thanks for your reply. Could you let me know where I can access some beginner level tutorials on Charticulator, please?
Bring the visuals to Excel!
Nice intro. Why is the fade out music so loud? I'm on a headset and was doing the dishes when it blasted my ears 😂
Terribly sorry, I have since turned down the intro music.. thanks for the feedback!
Would be much appreciated if you tried making more complex charts in charticulator, and show us the difference between doing it in power bi and in charticulator. Thanks in advance
Would going through and building each of the Chariculator Samples found here (charticulator.com/gallery/index.html) help?
My initial thought was to build all these charts initially, then explore building other kinds of charts.
I really love the idea, however, I could not get around the issues with the Glyph Editor, Glyphs re-sizing when you click Save. I have submitted issues in GitHub. I really hope this works one day soon.
I wish my Charticulator visual worked the same way that it does in this video. Nice video but torture seeing things that I absolutely cannot get to work.
The dataset that I am using consists of {Day - x-axis (1, 14); Hour - y-axis {0,23}, score - to be used as Glyph Fill (45, 120)}
Some of the issues I am seeing in the Charticulator visual are:
1. Dragging anchors in the Glyph Editor has no effect. Anchors snap back to their original location and no changes are made.
2. If I click and drag a rectangle to the Glyph Editor on a fresh new chart with an X, Y, and Z dataset, the glyph is either an extremely thin rectangle with a height that exceeds the height of the chart, or a rectangle so big that it covers the entire chart. Again, the anchors in the Glyph Editor can be dragged to any location and no change is made.
Fantastic. this is really a creative chart. Recently I was trying to create an growth rate bar chart (two bars with growth rate in an oval in the middle of the two bars top ) , but without success. bar chart is quite simple, but how to determine the the position of the Oval with growth rate. Could you kindly advice how to do this?
Is anyone having issues saving their changes in the charticular visual. If I make a change and then try and save visual it reverts back to first saved occurance. Just wondering if this is a bug or Im doing something wrong. Thanks.
Not seeing bug as of yet. If you are having issues, I would recommend filing bugs here: github.com/microsoft/charticulator/issues
It has happened to me. I understand it is a memory resource issue. Don't go back to the panel until you ensure that "Save..." is greyed out. Sometimes it takes a couple of seconds after you click it.
Heyooo Charticulator is here which sucks memory, which produce memory errors even in 3rd gen. Ipad Air
I'm looking forward to stealing all of your knowledge with this series.
I expect big things from you. We can always add guests to the episodes. Build something cool and lets do a walk through.
