This was an absolute godsend for me. The quarter light rubber is an utter and total nightmare, I can confirm. But man it was so massively helpful to have these two vids to refer to. Thank you so very, very much from Vancouver, Canada. You're a top man.
Hey mate, you make that look so easy. Tried today for an hour or so and got absolutely nowhere. Will watch again for the thousandths time and give it another crack after work tomorrow 🤬🤯
@@DemopVWgarage I’m thinking it’s a quality issue of the 1/4 window seal, got them ages ago in the UK, supposedly German Quality but not convinced. Will probably order a pair from Das Resto and see if that does the trick as after watching you video again yours look like they have a bigger lip on them.
Just the videos I needed, thank you! I have a few questions regarding restoring the glass. Are you using just a regular angle grinder? what type of attachment are you using to polish? Did you slow down the RPM on your grinder or just go really slow?
I tried this on some other glass that had some rust marks on it and this didn't help... maybe i didn't give it long enough??? I have read that for small scratches you can use creams that have pumice in them. Cheers from NZ.
@@DemopVWgarage Hey mate, the grit isn't actually specified but its for new clear coats so it must be fairly heavy. I reckon i just didn't persevere enough. I already bit the bullet and bought new glass!
I'm glad you filmed that in real time and not fast forward so we can see how long it REALLY takes. It looks like a real pain to do.
yep sucks hahaha

What part are you struggling with?
@@DemopVWgarage just to get it started, you make it look easy getting the lip over and I can’t even get that bit let alone getting it to click in.

No worries glad to help out, no its not a grinder but a sander/polisher which does have a speed control. Its used mainly for sanding surfboards

What grade polish did you use? It does take a few minutes to start working 😉 the heaviest grit polish works the best

Where did you order your felt and seals kit from?
Dasresto 😉
What kind of contact adhesive did you use?
Just a paintable type, the spray aerosol types aren’t very good 🤙🏽
