Good video but she's technically an ex-idol. She has also been very open about her struggles with depression and points to it as a reason for her departure from YMM in 2019.
Great video! I’ve only just found out about Ano a few months ago but I instantly became a big fan. English language content about her is obviously pretty scarce so it’s alway appreciated.
I remember watching a Japanese interview of her. In the interview she says she visited and stayed in Cambodia to do a photoshoot and met kids at an orphanage. While she was staying Cambodia and she considered Cambodia as her 2nd home. Pretty much, the country of Cambodia rehabilitated her when she went through depression.
6:25 Thanks! Ano chan is the second person who could give me the same vibe that Poppy gave me. I love both of them and hope that they can sing together one day
i didnt watch the whole video but i think the title is quite misleading. ano is very loved in japan right now. she has the normal amount of "haters" as any other famous person, but she isn't known for being hated. she is a celebrity talent and appears in many commercials, hosts famous shows, and stars in some comedy shows as well. she isn't ostracized for being weird.
I think she's awesome. Some of the qualities I have myself that I'm not sure about, she flaunts them and is proud of them and that helps me to feel good about myself too
Ano chan is also singing the opening theme of the remake of Ranma 1/2 that comes out in october, I couldn't think someone better to do it considering the original opening meaning.
I'm curious on what direction Ranma 1/2 remake will be. I don't mind having modern animations but still how it was back then with how much unfiltered it is, and it's not necessarily a mainstream show
Funny thing is Ano-chan might actually have some kind of mild disorder but thats what makes her cool. She uses it to be unique... Or she is playing a bit of a character, and again... If so... Cool.... She seems really fun. So who cares 🤷♂️
I'm autistic as well, and I thought that she is probably autistic as well, especially after reading the lyrics of her song "fuhen" and the emotional performance she did for the First Take for this song
>mental illness is cool this generation is messed up. its only cool when cute girl is autist. u dont care if she was fat chick. its all about appearance.
I don't get why people won't just ignore her if she makes them mad, rather than using all that effort on spreading rumours to tarnish her reputation. She just seems like an eccentric girl that's unfiltered. Think one thing in the alt idol scene I appreciate the most, even with my limited exposure to it, is that there's a lot of freedom of expression. Whether it's stuff like Planck Stars, Guso Drop, 14th Gen Toilet Hanako-san, STRANGE L∞P, NEMLESSS, etc. Love it or hate it, it's at least entertaining and you'll probably never forget it, for better or worse.
I discovered i's first before i discovered ano's solo career. Quite a suprise when i found out that I's singer and Ano was the same person when CSM ED came out
She doesn’t care what people think. And when you’re as successful as her it doesn’t really matter what people think. She’s more famous than any other idol right now. Literally everyone in Japan and their grandmother knows who she is because she’s a common presence on TV talk shows etc.
I like Ano. I found her many years before she even debuted and she gradually just evolved into being unfiltered and being herself. I see nothing wrong with that. Im glad her career grew
I kinda want a Rihanna/ Ano match up both no filter and not giving AF. She's refreshing. Also, I like her style. She might be on the spectrum who am I to diagnose. Also, ppl are SHY! That's a thing. If she can rise above that to perform in front of ppl is pretty awesome!
One of the things i love the most with Ano is that she also formed a rock band called I's in wich she sing and play the guitar and there are all awesome to see live.
Yeaaaah, she reminds me of those classic Punk Rock, rock stars/idols. I think she fits RIGHT in with people like David Bowie, Freddy Mercury, or even Sid Vicious. Just elegant weirdos.
Thank you for such a fair❤ representation of Anno chan. I love her for her artistry and personality alike like she has it all. I am totally enchanted by her lyrics in her songs and fascinated by her talk on TV and X, being the realest person there is.
I only knew ano in the mainstream just last year. I would probably remember her for her shrill voice every time she speaks in terebi interviews wherever there are musical TV specials.
I heard her song recently at the end of an anime and TBH watching the music video reminded me of watching Die Antwoord in high school (the old stuff before the controversy like 2012~) and being so fascinated with the music and the visuals. Feeling like you can understand something even though it's in a different language. Been a long time since I heard music that made me feel like that.
Here's the thing, if you're an introvert, your def mech kicks in 80% of the time. This affects the way you behave and communicate and shapes the way you think and even affecting your speech structure. And it's also because of this cautious aspect that you'll find it ironic how excellently they write their thoughts out than speaking them. That's where miscommunication takes place, cause they either tend to compress their messages when speaking or become rather telegraphic, consequentially making their messages rather cryptic. It's pretty much the consequence of being extremely thoughtful and cautious.
When promotional material dropped for the Chainsaw Man anime in mid 2022, I remember seeing the list of music artists who would be making original music just for the show. i was over the moon seeing the PACKED LIST, Kenshi Yonezu, Queen Bee, Maximum the Hormone, Eve, ect. I recognized every name of the ED artists except one. I had never heard of Ano and with such a short name, a cursory search of her music was difficult. So I was blown away when the episode aired and Chu, Tayousei absolutely crushed it. Quite possibly one of the best songs on the soundtrack. Of course people will be mad that she doesn't fit into the neat and tidy box of Idol girl, but she has talent.
Ano is awesome! From the moment I became aware of her because her face kept popping up on my you tube feed and I finally watched a video of her on the TV show Shock Girls I said to myself "This girl is going to be a big star!" That has proved to be true!
She might have autism or adhd but she could just be weird and bullied into being shy in her teen years but i'm proud of her for her idol career. She's pretty popular and the old people have ALWAYS hated on what the younger generation has been doing with music and fashion.
This is a very random video I clicked and it made me want to check her music out (went to search for her videos) and damn she's so talented 😱 being in the music and entertainment industry is really for her!! I hope she's safe and well coz you know the industry she's in may have dark sides so I only wish for her to have a fulfilling and safe life 🫶🏼 I'll check more ano-chan music and performances 😍
I don’t know how much time this video been in the oven but just to clarify, no one that doesn’t battle mental illness is able to put into words what her lyrics on her sad songs describe (and she has been seen with self-harm scars on arms and legs). Also, is quite strange that you don’t even mentioned her band ' I's ' where she basically unleash everything she feels inside on a surprisingly good and talented rock/punk canvas. I’s is GOOD good and I expect them to reach BMTH and BabyMetal level down the road if they keep up putting out there works like their last EP.
I have loved her since You’ll Melt More days and I’m happy she’s found more success. She seems happier? She definitely struggles with mental health and socialization - she has been seen with self harm evidence. But I hope she is happier now.
Thanks for the kind words for my idol anochan. She is a multitalented artist, composes some of her own songs (some of her best songs) and wirtes most of the lyrics. Recently she proved herself a genius at voiceacting in the animated movie "Dead Dead Demons De De De De Destruction"

While she was staying Cambodia and she considered Cambodia as her 2nd home. Pretty much, the country of Cambodia rehabilitated her when she went through depression.
6:25 Thanks! Ano chan is the second person who could give me the same vibe that Poppy gave me. I love both of them and hope that they can sing together one day
How could you not like Ano? Shes awesome
Ano's acting as Mem-Cho was super cute!!
I agree! I was surprised when Mem was introduced and it turned out she was played by Ano :DDD
Came across this video a few weeks ago and Ano became my favorite J-Pop artist since then.
Thank you for introducing me to her
👍
@ Keep the Otaku files coming, you do a great job with them💙
@ thanks!🙏
i didnt watch the whole video but i think the title is quite misleading. ano is very loved in japan right now. she has the normal amount of "haters" as any other famous person, but she isn't known for being hated. she is a celebrity talent and appears in many commercials, hosts famous shows, and stars in some comedy shows as well. she isn't ostracized for being weird.
I think shes cool and it proofs that every single person on earth is unique and special in their own way, staying true to yourself is the way to go.
I think she's awesome. Some of the qualities I have myself that I'm not sure about, she flaunts them and is proud of them and that helps me to feel good about myself too
I love her, she is an amazing artist
I became a fan when I when I went to see her live at a convention. It was definitely the best part of that night.
Ano chan is also singing the opening theme of the remake of Ranma 1/2 that comes out in october, I couldn't think someone better to do it considering the original opening meaning.
I'm curious on what direction Ranma 1/2 remake will be.
I don't mind having modern animations but still how it was back then with how much unfiltered it is, and it's not necessarily a mainstream show
i was on one of her concert and i was soooo happy i love her lyrics and my fav song is fuhen bc i feel kinda seen through her
Funny thing is Ano-chan might actually have some kind of mild disorder but thats what makes her cool. She uses it to be unique... Or she is playing a bit of a character, and again... If so... Cool.... She seems really fun. So who cares 🤷♂️
yeah im autistic and watching this i was thinking she might be too
Yeah it’s called autism common theme on popular “unique” idols
I'm autistic as well, and I thought that she is probably autistic as well, especially after reading the lyrics of her song "fuhen" and the emotional performance she did for the First Take for this song
>mental illness is cool
this generation is messed up. its only cool when cute girl is autist. u dont care if she was fat chick. its all about appearance.
I agree with the first two, that or potential ADHD.
I saw here in evexeve on netflix. Shes a good actress as well, hope she does more acting
One of the things i love the most with Ano is that she also formed a rock band called I's in wich she sing and play the guitar and there are all awesome to see live.
she’s one of my favorite jpop idols!
she has her own rock band called "I's" fyi
thank you for your video, I recently became a fan of ano and thanks to you I was able to learn a little more about her! THANKS :)
😊👍
Glad she was given an opportunity and was accepted for who she is. That's very rare in any part of the world.
She's awesome!
Yeaaaah, she reminds me of those classic Punk Rock, rock stars/idols. I think she fits RIGHT in with people like David Bowie, Freddy Mercury, or even Sid Vicious. Just elegant weirdos.
I've just discovered Ano wachting the first take videos and now after wacthing this I'm even more her fan!
あのちゃんの魂削って生きてる感じが大好き
かっこよすぎる
This video introduced me to Ano, and last week I went to her live show. Things escalated quick!
I absolutely love her ❤ Great video!
Thanks! 😊
She’s so cute and talented. ❤
Thank you for such a fair❤ representation of Anno chan. I love her for her artistry and personality alike like she has it all. I am totally enchanted by her lyrics in her songs and fascinated by her talk on TV and X, being the realest person there is.
I love following her work, I indeed discovered her with the Chainswam ED, but since I enjoyed every song of her
Thanks for the video
I only knew ano in the mainstream just last year. I would probably remember her for her shrill voice every time she speaks in terebi interviews wherever there are musical TV specials.
She's insanely awesome and i love her so much. 💖🇯🇵💖
Ano is unique and eccentric for sure. How real and unfiltered her whole experience is with the event. I love how she's so rebellious lol
More power to you bro! Very interesting Mini Docu here
Thanks!
ive been an ano stan since 2016 during the livedoor era
I heard her song recently at the end of an anime and TBH watching the music video reminded me of watching Die Antwoord in high school (the old stuff before the controversy like 2012~) and being so fascinated with the music and the visuals. Feeling like you can understand something even though it's in a different language. Been a long time since I heard music that made me feel like that.
She seems like such an awesome person!
I think Ano is great. I like her music. The unexpected screams in some of her songs are great as well :D
YMM used to be so great, 0:44 'Only You' is still my favourite song, I can listen to it hours on the repeat.
I’s is GOOD good and I expect them to reach BMTH and BabyMetal level down the road if they keep up putting out there works like their last EP.
does anyone know where the full clip is from 0:42 ??
Here you go 👍

@@DudeJericho omg ty king 👑 love the vid btw
Should do a video on her "bad timeline" counterpart Kojima Fukase. Specially since lots of people say Ano-chan copied her personality / looks.
Interesting, I’ll look into that. Thanks!
I have loved her since You’ll Melt More days and I’m happy she’s found more success. She seems happier? She definitely struggles with mental health and socialization - she has been seen with self harm evidence. But I hope she is happier now.
We need to talk about her so-called "beauty".
For real
she is beautiful and cute her music is trash though
あのちゃんの可愛さと多才さがほんと好き
Thanks for the kind words for my idol anochan. She is a multitalented artist, composes some of her own songs (some of her best songs) and wirtes most of the lyrics. Recently she proved herself a genius at voiceacting in the animated movie "Dead Dead Demons De De De De Destruction"
Heck yes she did!
@@DudeJericho Not that we are surprised. Anochan has been showing off her voice-acting talent on her solo radio show, where she would voice act short skits sent in by listeners.
I really like her appearance in the show 「呼び出し先生タナカ」 I say it’s hilarious!
If yall dig Ano, yall should look up Ako here on youtube. Highly reccomend her song "Planet". Ano and Ako both have a slightly similar vibe except Ako is a little more quiet. Both have super interesting sounds thooo. Als bro that moment at 4:45 where she's climbing on the stage stuff and that worker just had the vibe of "I dont get paid enough for this". Its interesting that you brought up her possibly have a learning disability, cuz right off the bat she kinda feels like she might be on the autism spectrum with her way of speaking and quietness. Love her to bits either way
Ako is absolutely great! She's more like daoko though, at least in the singing style
i just listened she sing fuhen in first take. dont know her, i just shock, this girl just create a masterpiece at this young age. the honest voice of her make the song masterpiece.
Great video! Many bits I did not know... Thank you. I'm from United States and I am 60 years old so kind of a Unicorn because I love her! Been watching her for a while,,, She's weird alright but Super CoooL!
