Well increasing visibility in a hide and seek game obviously is a way of cheating, that's not even debatable. Then again, no one cares about it in DBD so it's whatever.
I wish there was a brightness adjustment in the actual game settings because some maps are really hard to play decently without my eyes hurting. My eyesight is actually 20/20 and when survivors can be 2 feet away in darkness and you can't see them at all, there's an issue. I'm on console with an OLED so black is DARK and even when I turn my tv brightness up to max it didn't do anything because it's an in game issue. I also like playing DbD in particular with a custom vivid color setting so the game doesn't look gray and ugly. Saying those filters are cheating would be like saying tv settings are cheating. It's ridiculous.
The mental gymnastics some players run sometimes to consider someone cheating without having ever played against an actual cheater is insane, also amusing at times.
The game is gonna look different on different machines. I have a monitor that makes survivors basically invisible even right in front of me. While there can be some advantages to changing how colors appear so that, say, scratch marks and blood appear super bright is possible, but that's neither common nor a significant enough advantage to really care about. Making the game look better is just part of enjoying the game.
The thing is he does make a point.Nobody says you do it to see survivors easier but it does do that. Thus a third party app gives you an advantage over a killer than only uses ingame settings wether you only do it cause you hate vanilla colour or not.Your counter arguments in the vid instead of having a mature response were "its a party game who cares" and "there are more important problems in life" which can be said about anything really.Unnecessary passive/aggresive attitude towards the dude too.Rough watch

Rapid's got more patience than me lol. I would've just told the guy "Devs said it's fine, deal" and then banned him if he kept it up. Guess I have a low tolerance for nonsense lmfao
I think the point they were trying to make is modification to the game’s visual outside of in game options is problematic where it can be used to give unfair advantage or “cheating”, not hacking. I agree too the extent of some filters are absolutely used to give advantages, and are on the fence of “cheating” the system. That being said … most likely the reason they were pressed is because they play on console where it’s obviously much more limited on what can be done. But that’s how it is when it comes to cross platform games … and is definitely not exclusive to dbd lol. It’s also how it goes when an online game has loose rules on modifying the game in different ways.
@@lazypayday4476 a person who gave their opinion only to be responded with mockery, but keeps trying to hammer the point to no avail is almost the very definition of stubbornness. The dude came into the stream merely to argue … it got rejected, mocked as you said. And yet they stayed to defend their position that no one asked for, that sounds pretty stubborn too me.
The NVidia built in reshade (Ansel I think it's called?) is enabled for DBD which is something only a developer can do, so clearly they don't think it's cheating.
Rather than assuming things you should have had a proper conversation with that guy. If reshading is allowed for both pc and console then i think its ok. If one platform has this advantage over the other and the 2nd one is forced to play on default. Then it is definitely cheating. Not hacks but cheating in literal meaning. Similar to stretched resolution, one does have an unintended advantage in using them. Just because many YTs use it will not make it fare automatically.
Hey Rapid, I watch your content semi-often and like your personality, but I think you could have handled this a bit better. The dude didn't seem pressed at all, just giving his opinion on the matter and you kinda took offense to that. Reshaders does technically give a competitive advantage, no matter what your main intention is with it, so he has a valid point. Using reshaders is not bannable, so you are both partly in the right.
CMOOOOOON RAPID! seriously, it’s a horror game, it’s suppose the be dark, dingy and gray. Is it cheating no.? But it’s whack and DEFINITELY an advantage. It’s not disgusting. ( “who wants to play on that” ) that’s the lamest weakest argument ever. It’s suppose to be like that and I repeat!! it’s a HORROR GAME. All I’m saying is if you use it, its weak and apparently need the advantage and most importantly, most of us are laughing probably at streamers who use it.
Honestly I didn’t know about Reshaders and that’ll probably help me a lot. I literally have to squint my eyes because my pc is facing a window and the game is so dark
I feel like at first they weren't actually mad, they were just saying its "technically cheating" in the same mannerism people say shit like "cerial is technically a soup." I got called hacked for using deception. The killer thought I had teleported from the locker. Buut he was baby killer and was very understanding when I taught him about the perk
Ngl mocking that viewer that was only trying to say filters make survs easier to see and it gives a slight advantage Is just cringe. No it’s not cheats but you chose to keep arguing “that’s not what I use them for” and mocking them instead of actually even defending the statement they made. They never even called YOU a cheater yet you mock them. While the advantage is non existent for experienced players these filters do make it slightly easier to see survs and esp for inexperienced players it would help them actually be able to keep track of survs. Experienced players know maps and know the game so if they see a surv with the filter on they’d have seen them without it. The viewer was wrong but not so wrong they deserved to pointed at and laughed at like they’re making no sense Ps filters can also be used to make scratch marks more visible too which guess what IS an advantage. They’re misinformed at how strong they are but again not enough for your mocking. (Not saying that’s why you use them BTW)
To be fair I think you should've either ignored the guy or calmly talk to him instead of snapping and then explain to him how it's not He might not just understand
he does have a good point about the shaders other people use that kind of cheats and other games so I don't know if it's against terms of service a lot of games it is you're modifying the game PS you're the one brought it up he just bring up points I don't understand why you're being so mad about it

I use geforce experience to make my game look better. At times auras are literally hidden on maps like coldwind because the colour of the corn is so bright it drowns out the red aura of downed teammates. That's like the opposite of cheating, it's an accidental handicap. That chatter is genuinely just unhinged LOL
I personally use Shaders because I have issues with my colorblindness and DBD's base settings do not help in any meaningful way. But I guess Im cheating for making the game easier for myself (even though I need these settings to play like your average player), guess I have to literally not see anything anytime I play the game because of my vision impairment.
had a guy accuse me of cheating as a 3 universal perk only (achieve) nemi simply because i remembered what hatch offering one of the survivors used. i knew it was killer shack hatch, i knew where killer shack was, listened and found it and closed it. that means hacking ofc.
when i play this game my mind goes into overdrive figuring out what everyone is running from keeping track of 4 surviors with perks to knowing killer addons and what they do to change their power becasue when i got adept oni i had someone ask how did i find them and told them to look at my addons which made surviors bleed more and blood orbs reveal auras its not cheating its knowing the game inside and out like how certin addons make you bleed more or take longer to heal to act like a 5th perk(or 4th if doing adept) people that complain just have skill issues
Reshading to make the game look better is one thing, reshading so that all reds are barnyard red is questionable. Both because it makes all the reds brighter and thus more easily discernible, but also because it looks like shit.
the only way i could possibly see reshade as cheating is by configuring the settings to make the red stain EXTREMELY brighter than it normally is so its even more obvious to see (i swear in some cases you can even see it through tiles). i know this because i literally do this lmao
There are color blind settings you can put on to make bright red stand out over a greyish brown color. That means if the killer even turns toward you, you can immediately see the red stain and predict how the killer will move. This can probably only give you a few extra milliseconds to make a split second decision, but you could consider it cheating because it's typically done for the sake of gaining a benefit. In context with the video, making a dark game more vibrant is not cheating.
Predicting how the Killer will move based off the red stain is literally apart of the game, it's not cheating just because the stain might be brighter. As long as the Killer can still mindgame and hide their stain by moonwalking.. nothing is wrong. An intentional feature isn't cheating. Cheating doesn't just start and end with gaining a benefit over other players, base features do that. Perks would be cheats by that vague definition. Cheating is far more about unintentional problematic exploits usually from outside sources, that go against the dev's designs and MEANINGFULLY negatively impacts players due to unfairness or even unsafe things happening in game. Getting a tiny bit of an advantage because you can see something better in game, is not game breaking or impactful enough to be a cheat, and clearly the devs don't have an issue with players changing colours around or using reshaders. It's literally not a cheat by any reasonable logic.
i literally stopped playing this game bc it looks so awful on console. I’m on ps5, the frame rate is fine. it’s the awful colors and lack of brightness that makes it difficult for me to track survivors, especially on maps like grotto (knight’s map,) where everything is already orange - along with the scratchmarks so tracking is damn near impossible for me. i have no issue of brightness or muddled colors in any of the other games i play EXCEPT for dbd. it’s ridiculous.
Genuine question tho: is it actually possible to change the shaders in a matter where it could be easier to see the survivors? I mean, I’d assume that, if so, it stays very minimal and is absorbed by the layering effects of the fog in the distance of a map, but I’m still wondering…

people will call you a hacker over absolutely everything and anything in a game if you say you do something in a unique way, like binding a left click spam macro for old ruin, or a script that spams the spacebar in games like counter strike, the rat players will always find a reason to cope out an excuse for their lacking
Technically it is cheating because you do see clearer, same in cod when you turn down graphic settings so grass and other graphics end up not showing up so you can see players in cover lol
i mean its true about shaders if everyone used it it would be ok but i dont use it and i know alot of friends that also dont use it and u can tell the difference sometimes is the difference for escaping a match alive or not .
Using shaders is actually cheating because the game is "balanced" or at the very least "intended" to be played with certain color schemes and visibility and to alter those actually gives you an unfair advantage as it makes it much easier to see both killers, survivors, scratch marks and killer deployables. Saying using shaders isn't cheating is literally hypocritical and as much as I love DBD content creators, y'all are actually playing with an unfair advantage.

Which isn't a lot but odd it's happened twice
The mental gymnastics some players run sometimes to consider someone cheating without having ever played against an actual cheater is insane, also amusing at times.
The game is gonna look different on different machines. I have a monitor that makes survivors basically invisible even right in front of me. While there can be some advantages to changing how colors appear so that, say, scratch marks and blood appear super bright is possible, but that's neither common nor a significant enough advantage to really care about. Making the game look better is just part of enjoying the game.
Lessssss go new rapid content
Don't tell this man that BHVR has approved the Nvidia Filters xD
The Ada near the end definitely turned shaders on to land that dead hard.
yoooo lmfao... 4:09 - 4:18.. bro i subbed just cause you made me laugh with this little bit xD
The thing is he does make a point.Nobody says you do it to see survivors easier but it does do that. Thus a third party app gives you an advantage over a killer than only uses ingame settings wether you only do it cause you hate vanilla colour or not.Your counter arguments in the vid instead of having a mature response were "its a party game who cares" and "there are more important problems in life" which can be said about anything really.Unnecessary passive/aggresive attitude towards the dude too.Rough watch
agree. this was hard to watch. instead of having a mature discussion about it, they dogpiled that person for having a simple opinion. that person wasn't even nasty about it, but the other ones sure were. imagine banning someone for this. this video told me everything that's wrong with the community. i've just left another toxic community from a streamer/youtuber who has this exact problem as well. i thought i found someone cool here with rapid, but unfortunately not.
and funny how people also bring up colorblindness when that has nothing to do with the conversation. that's a whole different thing. there's colorblind modes in game and if their colorblindness is not listed there, then of course they can change it with other softwares to be able to even play the game. that's completely different to someone who has full vision and i'm shocked that people don't get this...
but anyway, i'm leaving this community. as fast as i came here, i'm glad i saw the warning signs much earlier this time... i'm glad to have found people like you tho who see what's wrong and speak up about it
Anything that doesn’t affect the client or server is not considered cheating unless if it’s stated in the rules of the game
Me going to jail for cheating after cracking up my screen brightness:
Damn, never knew a feature that colored TVs had for many years was actually a cheaters paradise.
@@lazypayday4476 just trying to translate their point … maybe. If they wanna be stubborn and bury themselves deeper, that’s their business lol
@@lazypayday4476 a person who gave their opinion only to be responded with mockery, but keeps trying to hammer the point to no avail is almost the very definition of stubbornness. Say whatever you want about the streamer, but it’s still their stream. It’s not a forum, a debate, or a platform where every voice is equal.
The dude came into the stream merely to argue … it got rejected, mocked as you said. And yet they stayed to defend their position that no one asked for, that sounds pretty stubborn too me.
For some reason it's always console players who get butthurt over playing on worse hardware even though no one is forcing them to.

I love hacking in DBD by putting the game volume really high up. It let's me hear survivors even easier
Man’s thought they were cooking
The NVidia built in reshade (Ansel I think it's called?) is enabled for DBD which is something only a developer can do, so clearly they don't think it's cheating.
I’ve been considering using filters because of my astigmatism. It is really hard to see on darker maps for me. Coldwind is just fine for visibility
Remember how dark old The Game meat factory was, playing against blendette swfs bringing the map offering

Console Players: “Yes”
"The colours pop more"
all the colours pop more, making it just as easy to see a survivor as it was before, but this time it looks better!
Honestly I didn’t know about Reshaders and that’ll probably help me a lot. I literally have to squint my eyes because my pc is facing a window and the game is so dark
I feel like at first they weren't actually mad, they were just saying its "technically cheating" in the same mannerism people say shit like "cerial is technically a soup."
Like they know its not REALLY what theyre saying it is, but to them it feels like it is and theyre just putting that opinion out there. But when people started to simply question their take, they started cracking under the pressure and went toxic.
Personally i just feel like the situation could have went better.
i play on console and looking at other people people with filters makes me sad because dbd still hasn't add graphic settings still
I was in the stream with the guy talking about cheating with shaders lmao. DBD devs even promote the use of it 💀
I got called hacked for using deception.
The viewer was wrong but not so wrong they deserved to pointed at and laughed at like they’re making no sense
Ps filters can also be used to make scratch marks more visible too which guess what IS an advantage. They’re misinformed at how strong they are but again not enough for your mocking. (Not saying that’s why you use them BTW)
What I love most is that he never responded, he just had to sit in his shame lol
Well rapid was antagonizing him and making fun of him instead of having a conversation with him. It's pretty immature on his part
2:07 this bot in chat is literally the nerd emoji
To be fair I think you should've either ignored the guy or calmly talk to him instead of snapping and then explain to him how it's not
He might not just understand
I use distortion from Jeff so I can be 100% sure that I’m just skill issued and the killers aren’t hacking
he does have a good point about the shaders other people use that kind of cheats and other games so I don't know if it's against terms of service a lot of games it is you're modifying the game PS you're the one brought it up he just bring up points I don't understand why you're being so mad about it
damn wow those filters do make it look so much better lol
As a console player, we do not welcome them, PC players can use shaders for graphical improvement all they like. We don't have the option but also "We do not care", huge props Rapid and GGs for both matches 💜
I wish dbd had more graphics settings
I raise you this: I got called a cheater because I was using tenacity on a swamp map lmao.
I only just realised that I was playing on 60 fps the whole time, now I switched to 240 and its like a different game
i got called a cheater just the other day while playing ghostface and i didn't even do anything remotely out of the ordinary
I personally use Shaders because I have issues with my colorblindness and DBD's base settings do not help in any meaningful way. But I guess Im cheating for making the game easier for myself (even though I need these settings to play like your average player), guess I have to literally not see anything anytime I play the game because of my vision impairment.
I got accused last night because I used darkness revealed on nurse.
It do be an unfair advantage tho
There is absolutely no way! I was wondering why my game was so grey compared to every video I see. Why do I play on default?
had a guy accuse me of cheating as a 3 universal perk only (achieve) nemi simply because i remembered what hatch offering one of the survivors used. i knew it was killer shack hatch, i knew where killer shack was, listened and found it and closed it. that means hacking ofc.
Hey Rapid, could you please do a video or have a screenshot of your reshade settings? I thought I had a good setup, but yours looks better. Ty!
Claudette mains are protesting against these filthy filters of yours XD
new rapid video??? day made
when i play this game my mind goes into overdrive figuring out what everyone is running from keeping track of 4 surviors with perks to knowing killer addons and what they do to change their power becasue when i got adept oni i had someone ask how did i find them and told them to look at my addons which made surviors bleed more and blood orbs reveal auras its not cheating its knowing the game inside and out like how certin addons make you bleed more or take longer to heal to act like a 5th perk(or 4th if doing adept) people that complain just have skill issues
Reshading to make the game look better is one thing, reshading so that all reds are barnyard red is questionable. Both because it makes all the reds brighter and thus more easily discernible, but also because it looks like shit.
I'm in chat in this video!! anytime it says mori bee thats me!
I swear the first match looked so familiar to me?
Is that a picture of Billy with death slingers gun??
the only way i could possibly see reshade as cheating is by configuring the settings to make the red stain EXTREMELY brighter than it normally is so its even more obvious to see (i swear in some cases you can even see it through tiles). i know this because i literally do this lmao
Bro I love how people do this kind of stuff and content creators entertain it because it's literally just free content lmao
NOOO THE SHADERS 😭😭😭😭 HE'S CHEATING 😭😭😭😭
I got ratio’d in the dbd subreddit for this exact argument lol
There are color blind settings you can put on to make bright red stand out over a greyish brown color. That means if the killer even turns toward you, you can immediately see the red stain and predict how the killer will move. This can probably only give you a few extra milliseconds to make a split second decision, but you could consider it cheating because it's typically done for the sake of gaining a benefit. In context with the video, making a dark game more vibrant is not cheating.
Yeah obviously we should just get rid of color blind settings
It's literally not a cheat by any reasonable logic.
you have a video on how to add/use the filters? :D
If filters is cheating, then colorblind modes are cheating.
8:20 Someone actually tried that on me the other day, it did not work. I was wondering too before that
i literally stopped playing this game bc it looks so awful on console.
Wait. What website are these filters on?
So I can... banush them. Yes. Banish them to the shadow realm.
I’d agree with the survivor of you cheating. Your thumbnail clearly shows Hillbilly with Deathslinger’s rifle.
I remember when I was called a hacker for using see thru walls myers 💀
I got called hacking when I was playing dredge and apparently, I was “walking through stuff” I was just using remnant at jungle gym loops wtf
Genuine question tho: is it actually possible to change the shaders in a matter where it could be easier to see the survivors? I mean, I’d assume that, if so, it stays very minimal and is absorbed by the layering effects of the fog in the distance of a map, but I’m still wondering…
Its one of the main reason people reshade
Geez Rapid, had to camp basement to secure a 4k without filters. 😜
this has to be a joke
@@tenoki4246 Was the emoji not enough to convey that? 🤔 Okay next time I do a sarcasm I'll try it like this. **It’s a joke bro!** 😜🤪😜🤪😜🤪😝😝😝😝😝....
"For clarity the previous statement was sarcasm"
Think that will do the trick?
Filters are accessibility, modifying resolution is enhancement (therefore cheating)
people will call you a hacker over absolutely everything and anything in a game if you say you do something in a unique way, like binding a left click spam macro for old ruin, or a script that spams the spacebar in games like counter strike, the rat players will always find a reason to cope out an excuse for their lacking
My friendo is a Billy enthusiast and he constantly gets *reported* for “abusing game mechanics” aka he mostly goes for chainsaw downs lol
There are literally filters that BHVR themselves have whitelisted. They're okay with most general ones
Bro is crying over filters lmao
As A Console Player I Can Relate With No Filters
