Guys, thank you for all the suggestions to wear heated gear! I want to try some next spring! If you have any suggestions about brands or want to tell me what works for you drop me a comment here! Thank you! ❤️🙏🏻 And because there are so many questions: The trip was in July/August 2020 (please read the captions of the videos for more infos, most of the things you want to know can be found there :) )
My recommendations: Gerbing and Klim! They offer complete systems from collar to toes with battery connection or mobile battery packs included in the clothing. The clothing is lightweight and really warm! And you can wear each part separately, too of course, socks, gloves...
@@lovefamilies9521 I already have perfect base layers for me (can't wear merino though because I am allergic to it). But even those get to their limits if riding in temperatures below 0 for 8 hours...
@@christophmensch3945 Yes, Gerbing was recommended to me often (never heard of it before though, so it's very interesting!). Do you know if you for example get some klim heated gear works better if you already have a klim jacket because they fit better together or doesnt that matter? I as well feel like getting something for upper body would probably already be a huge improvement - I rarely get cold on my feet with the right socks and my alpinestar toucans.
unfortunately the best fabric on your naked skin is "Pure Wool". Once you have that, the outer layers just needs to be a "windjammers". I use exactly the same principles Ocean Racing, with Oilskins as outer layer
The day smiles on the wheels of such beautiful rides... Nobles knights are greeted countless times with rain and cold, seeking shelter in remote and cold land... Mo I Rana! In their beautiful mounts, they are greeted countless times with blankets of snow and rain on along journey to the Artic circle, the destination wanted them both to reach the Lofoten Islands by sea.... Tanks one more time for sharing a great and pleasant vid.
You poor things, I hate the rain. How you keep so positive and film so professionally under those conditions is a mystery to me even though the scenery is so beautiful. So lucky people like you exist to show non-travellers the beautiful planet we live on. Please accept a HUGE virtual hug from me.
Paul, thank you so much! But even in rain I am so thankful that I am able to Travel and be on a bike and that this is such a privilege! And promise: there will be a lot of sun coming soon!!!
I know the rain is rough on motorcyclists and cyclists, but it still doesn't change how BEAUTIFUL the country is. Thank you for sharing your journey. Safe travels and God Bless and protect you.
Hey Lea, I watched these vlogs when they first came out, and thought I’d watch them again 2 years later. They’re still v v good! Thank you for taking the time and effort to make these - they will continue to help and inspire riders like me for years to come. 🙌🏻
This was the first video where I didn’t smile as much because the rain was going a bit on my nerves - but I promise that will change soon! Great that you are joining the journey here! ☺️
Hello, so pleased I found your channel, will have some catching up to do, my name is Derek and I live in the UK, also at present very wet and cold, we saw Norway last year but by ship, ferry taking passengers in cabins , for 12 days, it was fantastic, always good to see places we visited from the saddle of your motorcycle. We to are bikers but not long haul now. Look forward to your next video, in the meantime I will backtrack to your previous videos, Stay safe and thank you. D
Hey Derek, great that you join the journey now - and I guess that seeing Norway from a ship is super exciting and beautiful too. I send you all the best to UK and hope you like all the other episodes! All the best!
This excursion is a magic elixir for what ails the human spirit. And Norway has always been my favorite place on earth, closely followed by New Zealand, then, my native New England, USA. And let's not forget Bavaria! Thanks for posting. I recently subscribed with notifications and have not been disappointed in the least. It's great viewing the backlog of postings. Cheers.
That takes a lot of strength, driving, filming, editing, and staying in a good mood in uncomfortable weather. Thank you and wish you a safe and safe journey and have fun. Many greetings from Germany! 👍 # 675 👍
Have to admit that the mood was only at about 50% - these two days was the coldest and wettest of the whole journey. But then we reached Lofoten (wait for the next episode next Thursday!!!) and you we knew that it was all worth it! 😍😍 Great that you are joining from Germany!!!😍
Thoroughly enjoyable videos in Norway presented so well Lea. You and your companion have done so well against all the elements to bring us some stunning scenery. You make me want to start biking, these modern bikes are so good. More please Lea.
That was a wet ride . You are both properly getting down the road no matter what the weather is doing I respect you both for that. Love the views on this journey thanks for sharing on RUclips it is a welcome distraction from work and covid restrictions. It makes my day 😀👌👍
No need to be as cold as this. Keis Heated Apparel is fantastic. I have them in UK. They provide everything you need to plug into your battery. It's as warm as my bed. Love watching. Thanks
Beautiful video and narration. As always. I especially liked the un-layering. That little twirl of the second to last layer was an unexpected treat and quite cute! I am excited and watching your videos helped inspire me. I take delivery of a 2018 KTM 1090 ADV R tomorrow. She has been a garage queen for the last 2 years with only 1500 miles. Nary a scratch anywhere. She looks brand new . Nicely equipped as well. Panniers, GPS , custom seat etc. I like that the electronics are minimal in comparison to some bikes. If I like motorcycle travel maybe later I will look at a GS. After all I was born in Munchen. Grew up in Bad Tolz. Thank you for producing your wonderful videos and most of all for your inspiration! Oh that sounds like a great catch! You better take care about your new baby and finally let her roam free and explore the roads of this world with her! I am sure you will enjoy it (as long as it’s not raining too much 😂).

Hey there - yes it’s so beautiful! I wish we would not have had so much rain, it was really not inviting to discover more small places - to be honest that two days we just wanted to cover some miles and arrive as quick as possible due to the rain and cold. So I hope to come back at one point and see all of that again in sunshine 😍😁

I am a tropical bird having spent nearly all my life in warm climates, full of admiration how you could withstand all that cold, warm tropical rain is ok but cold rain is very hard on the body, mind and soul.
The landscape is breathtaking. Before RUclips came into existence, there was no way to experience what we can experience now. Utterly amazing. BTW, and because COVID-19 is making its impact felt all over the world, can we know the month and year of this particular journey? Pre-COVID-19, I assume? Sorry if you mentioned it and I missed it.
@@mr.solitude3352 it was this summer - so not pre Covid, but Scandinavia opened the borders in July and we were able to travel Finland, Sweden and Norway. I am still so thankful that we were able to do this journey before all numbers now in autumn increased again and everything went more or less back to lockdown.
I only encountered your channel today, and I watched this whole journey so far. Too bad the weather is not friendly to you, but your story makes it very interesting, with really beautiful views. Hey Lea. Stunning scenery and too much rain. What would we do without heated grips ? Thank you for sharing your journey.
I sometimes think I would die - I love heated grips so much! 😍

Hi!
Made that trip in last year Summer. The best till now, however we had only few rainy days... lucky :)
Ride safe
It’s even beautiful in the rain - and the sun will come! I promise! 😂😍
@@Got2Go we hope so 😉
I am a tropical bird having spent nearly all my life in warm climates, full of admiration how you could withstand all that cold, warm tropical rain is ok but cold rain is very hard on the body, mind and soul.
Great memories again seeing Bodø and the Arctic Circle Building. Did you see all the rocks around the back of the building ???
Yes we did! Unfortunate couldn’t film much as the rain stared to get very strong and I didn’t dare to take out my real camera... 😒
@@Got2Go ...stacked on top and alongside of each other making up all those formation etc
You’re a tough cookie. Respect
@@totoarriba Thank you. Much appreciated. I am intrigued with how people around the world are responding to the coronavirus.
@@mr.solitude3352 it was this summer - so not pre Covid, but Scandinavia opened the borders in July and we were able to travel Finland, Sweden and Norway. We really tried to keep our distance though and unlike on other journeys didn’t meet many other people and tried to stay more away from locals and other travelers - so this is quite different than for example the journey to west Africa. I am still so thankful that we were able to do this journey before all numbers now in autumn increased again and everything went more or less back to lockdown.
@@Got2Go Amazing backdrop for your journey as well. Thank you for providing it.
I only encountered your channel today, and I watched this whole journey so far. Too bad the weather is not friendly to you, but your story makes it very interesting, with really beautiful views. I subscribed, and this journey is probably almost over, but I understood there are a lot more travel videos to see. Thanks for your work.
Hey there, great that you found your way to my channel and like the content! Just so you know: the journey is not nearly half over - after Norway I traveled extensively in Sweden and Finland - so there are still a lot of episodes to come! So you joined just in time before my new videos are being published (the best ones are still about to come!!!). New video is btw out each Thursday at 19:30 CET.☺️
@@Got2Go Vielen Dank. Ich werde sie gerne sehen. Gute Reise !
2018 we had only 3/27 rainy motocycle days - next time you have more luck
I think so too. And when the sun started to shine (one more episode in half rain, then it will be done) it wouldn’t stop anymore! I honestly completely forgot how much rain we had until I cut the videos... 😅😂
