And yeah I can understand people can dislike a character in a story they enjoy, and I totally agree with you on Rudy, he is cringe, but in novel he's chill now, he kinda matured (I say kinda because sometimes he does cringey sex jokes in unnecessary moments in the novels) 🤣

My favorite episode, the anime giving us flashforward of Dead end being clapped by orsted is pretty smart because when we actually saw him coming, we were scared of him, almost like his "fear curse" affected us.

The voice acting and sound direction were 10/10 this episode. You could really feel the escalating tension during the conversation between Rudeus and Orsted, especially since we had that flash forward at the start of the episode. Eris crying out desperately was also really well done. Very worthy of the title Turning Point 2.
Turning points always matter in Mushoku Tensei. Every event changes our MC and plot.
Eris' desperation was a fucking 1000/10, the VA did an incredible job. Also Orsted's theme is a big trolling from Studio Bind, if you've read the novels and you recognise the melody you'll understand why.
No one is better at hyping up the tension than Kaiba.

Laplace is the Demon God who was sealed away by the hero Armored Dragon King Perugius(lives in the floating castle) 400 years ago. Laplace was world's strongest magic user. When people compare Rudeus to Laplace, they compare the amount of his mana and not the actual magical ability
Just as a refresher: Laplace is the name of the Demon God that gave the Superd their spears and the one Perugius and his comrades fought during the war. He is famous for having the largest mana pool recorded in this world's history, so Orsted's assessment of Rudeus' spell being on par with Laplace should give you some new perspective on our main character.
Also, something that was included in the Light Novel but kept out in the manga: after seemingly killing Rudeus and seeing Eris' reaction, Orsted actually apologized to her, saying something along the lines of: "Sorry, but you'll understand later on."
One thing I wanted to mention about the production quality of this anime, Eris' voice actor, the despair in her voice, holy fuck that gives me chills every time I watch this episode.
More specifically about the Supeared, "...that they set down their own spears for different spears" offered by Laplace, as said by Ruijerd, in the anime. It was also explained that the 'different' spears were how Laplace drove them to Chaos, killing anyone. Also, from the same scene, that the spear that Ruijerd carries now was the 'original Supeared Tribe spear' of his son, which contained "his soul".
I love the attention to detail in this episode. Orsted judged Rudeus was a caster for his gear, so the first thing he did was crush Rudeus' lungs to prevent him from casting magic because mages need incantations to fight. Later, after Rudeus shows that he can cast incantationless magic Orsted ask "why don't you heal yourself?". Well, he can't. Healing Magic is Rudeus' weak point, he hasn't figured out yet a way to cast it without incantations. Rudeus then proceeds to launch a gale of wind into his own mouth to catch a breath.

Out yeah. Rudy always tries to de-escalate conflicts. We rarely see him truly go at someone. But when push comes to shove, Rudy can handle a lot of pain and still be an absolute beast
using earth magic to prop himself up to aim, combined magic to get out of disturb magic range, adding oxygen to the fireball to increase its temperature to that of a nuke, Rudy was just pulling out all the stops this episode

When Eris is dragging herself through the dirst, bleeding, crying , and screaming, that hits me so hard, same thing when Rem did it, something about that just makes so emotionally invested it's insane.

The next 2 episodes are my favorites because of how it showcases rudeus as a character and how the world keeps going around him. It's where the writing on the characters and the narrative world building make a subtle but huge impact in the story.
Season 2 is gonna be great. There will be an OVA about the time eris went goblin hunting and it should introduce a character we will meet in season 2. Not much of spoiler there but still a new name to remember moving forward.
I'm hoping we get an ova about sylphie too.

If you replay the Eris vs Rujierd sparring session in slow motion, you'll see Eris actually controlling the pace of the fight and landing some kicks. If it was scored in a boxing system, it would have been a 10-9 in favor of Eris.

It would have been so good if the plot was actually good and things actually made sense, we have Zenitzu who fucking sleeps pulling up "Godspeed" and Inosuke with his ass pulls (can rearange his internal organs, is immune to poison for some reason?), Gyutaro's poison is weaker than cyanide or some toxins regular animals have.
DS wouldn't be shit without it's production value that pulls in kids saying it's the best anime ever. Not hating, I enjoy the show

In the light novel they explained this encounter wayyy better and the fight is a lot more interesting. And hopefully they talk more about the Dragon God, the Men-God and the relation between them in the next season.
I don't thing the following is a spoiler it is just some information that appears in the light novel during the fight.
To explain a little what is happening during the fight, before the first attack, Rudeus saw one second into the future with the eye that his lungs were about to explode, that is why he reacted like that. Orsted aim first to the lungs because a magician that cannot talk is not dangerous. However, Rudeus manage to produce a stone cannon soo powerful that actually was strong enough to damage Orsted a little. After that Rudeus trying to use some fire balls that disappeared because of Disturb magic he had to crate an air explosion that launched him backwards followed by a ball of air that he forced down to his lungs to get some oxygen. After using some earth magic to help stand again, he created a new attack that combined earth, air and fire magic to crate that powerful ball of flames with a nuclear explosion in mind. Orsted had to use the circle thing called Front Wyrmgate that absorbed most of the power and it was enough to stop the explosion but the gate broke showing how much mana Rudeus really has.
Literally is the same that we see but in words, You wanted a narrator saying everything that happen in the scene?
Obviously in the novel they need to be more descriptive because you are not seeing the guys fighting.

i was an anime only and i knew all of that, wasn't that hard to follow and after the anime i read the ln till volume 14 and bruh this is a masterpiece and the anime "in my opinion" did such an amazing job and this scene was better to me because of the music,the animation and the atmosphere
@@crazyfam2261 Ohh I agree! I really likeed the anime and the scene was amazing even without that much detail, obviously adding an entire volume is impossible but they did great. They actually follow a bunch of things and try very hard to make everything comprehensible and in few minutes
Also keep in mind the heat from a violet fireball wasn’t melting his face off, so rudeus was probably doing something to contain the majority of the heat as well, shows how skilled he is with mana, unless the heat is just contained by the spell itself

You might already know this, but he called her a warrior because that was her birthday. She turned 15, which is a adult in this world. So Ruijerd titling her a warrior and saying she grew up, was his sincere birthday gift to her.

Just like a little fact, Rudeus talk to Ostred because he sense a similar aura between Man God and Orsted. The anime just skip that inner monologe. Rudeus also think that Nanahoshi is a rare person because she has Black Hair. None in that world have Black Hair and that make him think in Japan.
"Nanahoshi" is also the only character with a traditional Japanese name, we've been introduced to.

Which you acknowledge doing. "cut content" is a SPOILER. It's motivation for me and other people to buy the light novel and Manga content to discover it on our own.

A lot of what's said in this episode is enigmatic but here's my speculations/questions and what I have understood so far:
- The Dragon God seems to know the whole timeline of that world, I guess the reason why he knew Ruijerd and Eris is because they play an important part in the history of the world.
- The Dragon God didn't know who Rudeus was and it makes sense because he was reincarnated, he's like a variable in a world full of constants, which means he has the potential to change the timeline that the Dragon God knows. But earlier this season the Man-God said that the Dragon God himself is responsible of reincarnations, he's the one who creates the variables. Which also makes sense because he healed Rudeus, I think Nanahoshi made him realize that he was killing one of his reincarnations and he changed his mind. So my big question is: why does he make people reincarnate if then he doesn't remember who these people are and why he did make them reincarnate?
Hitogami said "Dragon god is better at that sort of thing" not that he actually did it. Fit this piece of info into your theory ufufufufufu :)

Also I don't buy that the autor gave us this piece of information just to do nothing with it or to set up some kind of plot twist. Like if Hitogami one day says "yeah well I said the Dragon God it better at this sort of things but I never said he did actually reincarnate you" it wouldn't work as a plot twist, because it would be coming out of nowhere

A lot of isekais hint that the MCs reincarnates in someone that prob died the night before (Ascendance of a Bookworm has a very emotional take on this), so my guess is that Paul's and Zenith's first born was supposed to not make it in Orsted's timeline.
As someone that has only watched the anime, my theory is that the girl Orsted was with is also from another world. Which would explain why she isn’t visibly scared of him, and also asked him to heal Rudeus. Just my theory lol.

No one is living through anyone. When he's talking to the Man-God that's just how Rudy sees his own consciousness. The only thing that's carried over are his memories. There is no "old man" living through an 11 year old boy.
Rudy still sees himself as a 40+ year old, however.

The argument I am making is that technically there is no old man living through an 11 year old boy. It's a false equivalence. If we were to dissect Rudy he'd have all the physiological, brain patterns, and neuron synapse properties of an average 11 year old. Memories do not dictate mentality. He's just aware of his past life. Memories =/= mentality.

@@teddymecheto you really should stop giving sh*t about hate comments and ignore them if possible, not like this guy as he asked nicely. anyone who watches your reaction get that this show is not for you and for many people but turning off comments I think is a bad idea, even author of this series received so much criticism that he wanted to end it mid way but continued. If he had done that it wouldn't be top 1 web novel throughout its run. What I'm saying is
there will always be criticism if you oppose the general opinion just do what you want and what you have to say and stick with it otherwise it might be problematic for your channel in the future.

This is one of those cases where having extra info doesnt make things any clearer
But the most important points from the novel:
-Rudeus felt from Orsted a similar aura as he feels from the ManGod, thats why he asked questions
-Orsted was very friendly towards Ruijerd, and deducted he was escorting a couple children back home from the demon continent, which implies Orsted knows Ruijerd well enough
-Nanahoshi is a japanese name, and so far no one on that world has been shown to have fully black hair
-The curse on the supards has been fading, because a lot of time has passed and the curse was split among a whole group, Ruijerd shaving his hair simply accelerated the loss of the last of it
Fun Fact: as many isekais copied the template of Mushoku Tensei, there are lots of them where a god shows up to talk to the MCs, and just as you first assumed, they simply are there to give the MCs a hand
It was later on when the audience realized there was more of a story going on, but at that point, the "isekai where the MC and his companions travel the world, while the gods show up from time to time," was already a subgenre

While in Kind dragon kingdom (before ariving in Shirone) Rudeus ordered from a restaurant "Nanahoshi fried dragon" (fried chicken with steamed rice and miso soup) and Rudeus lashed at the owner over how bad the chicken was and that owner so happens to be the Death God Randolph Marianne.
My heart was beating so fast when this ep aired, Orsted’s a savage.

It’s finally here, the legendary Episode 21
I’ve not read the short stories, but I imagined the dragon god has lived or is able to see through all time lines of this world. This is the first time line for Rudy to exist, that’s why he didn’t know him. Paul never had a son in any time line, and the mana disaster is a new outlier event.
Fun fact: The Purple Fire Ball Rudeus created was basically a mini-nuke and if Orsted wouldn't had stopped it, it would had leveled the entire mountain and Ruijerd and Eris would have died.
Hint: Nanahoshi is a Japanese name. 😉

Soo damn good, Eris' VA absolutely KILLED that scene, I still get chills every time I see it. And obviously Kenjiro Tsuda who does Orsted(Jigen from Boruto, Nanami From jujutsu kaisen) is absolutely incredible.
He is wholesome tho, just sometimes a bit on the edge.
It is complicated for now, but evetually everything will be clear. Even if not in the current season.

When Orsted comments that Paul should have only two girls, I wonder if it's not that Paul is hiding something, but rather that Orsted can sense the nature of reality as it was supposed to be and Rudy's reincarnation - as an outsider - has upset "what was supposed to happen." I haven't read the novels or watched ahead, so I have no idea if this is the case, but Orsted definitely seems to have some ability to either see the future or travel in time since he implies he's going to properly meet Eris and Rujerd in the future.

Rifujin sensei is a master of leaving info here and there, some events make 0 sense, some characters you're like "who the fuck is that and why do we care about them" but 10 volumes later you find out ...
Apostle just means follower, so basically someone who worships (and in this case probably works for) the Man-God. From my understanding Orsted has a certain degree of omnipotence, he can see peoples pasts and futures. Which is why he was confused that Rudeus was a Greyrat. Paul in the normal timeline would only have 2 daughters, but Rudeus is an anomaly in this world - a glitch in the matrix. You can also notice that he was surprised at Eris using magic, since she isn't supposed to know how to in a timeline without Rudeus in it.

This is me guessing wildly, but the way Orsted speaks gives me the vibe that he's got some Dr. Manhattan-esque power to see across time, or has some power to return to a previous point in time. He speaks of not meeting people 'yet', and says Eris had potential but not polish as if he's faced her multiple times. Not to mention, Rudy's future-sight doesn't work on him well, and he doesn't recognize Rudy but does recognize his sisters, which gives me the impression that Orsted has lived a different timeline where Rudy didn't exist because he hadn't been reincarnated.
Or it might be something entirely different, but that's what I'm guessing from the scenes in this episode.

If you are looking for a new show to react after finishing reacting to jobless reincarnation , I strongly recommand you to check out steins;gate. The first few episodes is kinda slow paste, but if you overcome that slow phase the later episodes of this show can blow your mind.
Laplace had the highest Mana among the gods and Orsted saying that Rudeus is on par with Laplace is a complement and we'll know about Laplace more as we progress through the story
I don't know if you already watched episode 22, if not I would tell you to watch it carefully and rationally, yeah there r some controversial stuff and I also didn't like it in first but it made a lot of sense after I thought it carefully.

I don't know much, I haven't seen anything besides what you have, but from where I sit, It looks like this dragon guy has knowledge of the world except what the other deity does. It is like having internet in his head, he just knows of people and events. But I wonder what are the specifics which I guess they might explain at some point. Maybe there is a curse and conditions that play. For example his curse doesn't affect Rudeus, so his ability to know things couldn't see Rudeus.
An apostle is a disciple, anyone who follows the instructions of a master. In a way Rudeus was following the instructions given, which even if Rudeus disagrees, he is still following the advice.

I _think_ Orsted is Dragon God titled and not a god like the Man-God. These gods and ranks and titles having overlapping names gets a little confusing at time.
It was interesting that the Man-God could not see Orsted’s future and Orsted could not see Rudeus’s future. It feels similar to how curses on others doesn’t seem to effect him. Maybe because his soul is not from that world?
I do remember when Rudeus first asked the Man-God is he brought him here, he said nah, he can’t do that type of thing, that’s more of- he either said Dragon-God or Demon-God’s- I forget which- thing. And Nanahoshi, which is obviously a Japanese name, said maybe [Rudeus] is… before he passed out, so there’s something there in his summoning that’s potentially being connected to. Of course they’re not going to elaborate yet, but I definitely find it interesting.

In the earlier episodes, it was mentioned that the dragon god might have reincarnated Rudeus to this world and that might be the reason why he doesn't known who Rudeus Greyrat is. This creates a paradox, as why he doesn't know who Rudeus is, well we'll find out later.
