Thank you for the video, I been waiting sooooo long for someone to put that car on the road an do a road trip just to see if it can be done, I heard that is mainly for city driving please post more if you can
Great video, been waiting for a cold winter range test for a while. Have same car with black top. Enjoying it a lot :) Will definitely share my winter results here. All the best from Türkiye.
I'm impressed with the range in a winter setting. That's been my biggest reservation about electric cars in general. Hopefully that will improve though. Thanks for sharing!
nice video as always. Wife's next one will probably be electric while I keep the GP for other trips. With the cars just getting better and infrastructure improving they will only get more useful. Cant wait for the rest of the series and your reviews of living with an electric.
Awesome video; thanks for giving us your real experience with the car! Looking forward to more in the series. My wife's daily driver is the F56 SE and we are seriously considering trading it in for the Countryman SE and she wanted me to ask if the Countryman SE still drives like a MINI. I'm curious about the different modes because the F56 SE in "green" or "green+" only estimates 3 more miles--I'm sure it gets more than that but it was interesting to see the Countryman SE estimate 30 more miles! Also curious about experience you have w/ Tesla chargers especially since they're becoming the standard in the US. We have an adapter--I couldn't tell from the shots of the charging port if the Countryman can use them or needs an adapter too. Thanks!
@@TheMINIVlog Well, looks like we'll get access to the Tesla supercharger network next year so it might be worth getting an adapter--or a BMW/MINI one if they offer it
would love your comments about driving in the snow (which OEM tires do you have on yours??). I'm two months in on owning mine in the PNW.. haven't had the snow issue to deal with yet ;). I'm averaging 2.9 to 3.3kw or so in just my daily city driving (mostly in CORE "D" mode set to Adaptive). I've also been trying to get some averages in "B" mode...but haven't quite adjusted to the hard one pedal feel...yet..... :)
Does MINI let you customize your charger arrival percentage? You’d be better off arriving at a charger, during a long trip, much closer to 0% than 20% to get the highest charging speeds.
Next time can you please share the charging curve? Would be nice to see how fast its charging when first plugged in and how fast when unplugged. I would guess there is a drop off at 80% state of charge based on the Mini's recommendation.
Great question! It makes more sense when you learn that 40% of electricity generation in the US in 2023 actually came from non-fossil-fuel sources (renewables and nuclear). Also, even for fossil fuel generation, turning that fuel into electricity at a relatively smaller number of large generators (power plants), then using that electricity in highly-efficient EVs, uses that energy more efficiently and cleanly than burning it in millions of small, inefficient generators (i.e., ICE vehicles).
that efficiency was pretty good. 2.7 with snow plus it being a big car is great. I get 4.0 on my hardtop SE in California weather.
Awesome! Best I've done in the month I've owned it is 2.9 but I imagine the summer weather will help me out a bit next year

Nice!

Having to stop twice on the way home for charging is a bit of a drag in bad weather, though
@angusmacdonald5300 it's mostly because I set the arrival percentage higher for when I got home. Had I not done that, would have been a one stopper
Super cool that you can play games while charging!
Also your better electric car driver than me, you didn’t run out of battery once! 😂
😁

This model needs the adapter. They have not made the switch to NACS port on the models yet. Ill have more videos on all of it soon!

Awesome video and informative about the Countryman and charging. Can’t wait to see more 😃
No freaking way would I put up with this! Sorry, Nick. 😂

Yeah sure thing. Hope to get more snow driving soon. The tires are the Bridgestone turanza ls100

Yes they do which is why I had a two stop return trip because I wanted to return home with a high percentage

Will try to on the next road trip, yes
So the EV gets charged with electricity, which comes from fossil fuels. Lol ...and this makes sense how?
It's comments like this that make me feel like we are living in the movie idiocracy!
