  • “Is It Worth It? Trying Zero Waste | Blueland First Impression & Review” is about testing my new cleaning products from Blueland. I purchased “The Routine Clean” kit (link below) and am giving my initial thoughts. I originally thought about purchasing their “Clean Suite” kit because it contained all of Blueland’s products. However, I already own many other cleaning products that are targeted at doing the same thing (ie mirror/window cleaner, dishwasher pods, etc), and I do not want to purchase things I do not need. Therefore, “The Routine Clean” kit seemed perfect for me! I hope you all enjoy this video and found it useful :)

    Have you tried Blueland? Lmk your thoughts ♡
    UPDATE 1/22/2021:
    1. I added timestamps in the description since this is a longer video. Hopefully this will help you navigate around, especially if you just want to watch specific segments.
    2. I have repurchased the hand and dish soaps from Blueland in bulk. I really do enjoy both of these products still to this day. The laundry tabs I only use for hand-washing purposes and wouldn't repurchase. If anyone has an alternative to a reliable laundry product then please lmk. That is still something I'm on the lookout for. I'm more than halfway through the multi-surface cleaner, and the bottle is still intact. I've read from many of you, including some friends, that the bottle has cracked/broken on them. I'm sorry you had to deal with that :( I read on a Reddit group that some people save old cleaning bottles when they're empty, and just purchase the cleaning tabs from Blueland. I think once my bottle breaks (bc it seems like an impending doom at this point lmfao) then I think I'll just repurpose an old bottle to do the job.
    Happy cleaning folks! Stay safe.

    Thanks for sharing! Couple months in on my plastic reduction goal.
    I've been doing 2 tablets for my laundry with a large load and noticed they come out clean. I think they recommend 2 tablets for medium to large sized loads. I use dropps with blueland for their fabric softener & oxy boost products. Fabric softener has the scents that help the laundry smell clean
    Also noticed that the dish soap is AWESOME at cleaning stale shaker cups (even better than dawn)

    I love blue land. The soap is great but the cleaner bottles are going to break at the fill line. The spray nozzle is gonna crap out and leak too. I've gone through 3 bottles. I still use the cleaner I just recycle a different bottle and put it in there with water. It's pretty good multisurface cleaner but I dont think the bathroom one cleans well enough for my liking.

  • @whoahanant

    I keep getting ads for it and I finally decided to look into it cause I'm constantly annoyed at the amount of plastic bottles that just get wasted every time. I try to use the spray or other bottles for something but you can only have so many bottles used for something else lol.
    I wonder if they were to change their laundry tabs to powder they might work better in cold washes? I wouldn't mind buying the tabs and just crushing them into a new container if that works but it could be a good idea for them to do since powder could work the same in warm and cold washes if it worked.

    Thanks again for doing this video.
    Like you said, the bottles like really pretty, and that's whst initially drew me in. I also like how they are labeled, and aren't your typical store bottles. I'm actually thinking of just buying the package with the 3 bottles, and the dish concentrate. Then I can try those things one, and go from there. Worst case scenario, I can reuse the "pretty" bottles with my Windex, Meyers Counter cleaner, and 409 for the bath.
    Are you still using these products? Can I ask what you used before? For your regular cleaning? Countertops/glass, etc.
    I usually use 409, Windex, a toilet bowl cleaner (a more bleach scented one in the funky shaped toilet bottle), a liquid dishwasher cleaner, liquid Tide, liquid fabric softener (Downy).
    Sorry to ask so many questions.
    Thanks for any input!

    • @tiffanymcnerlin157
      @tiffanymcnerlin157  3 года назад

      The questions don't bother me so you're good! lol I did post a recent update to these products up above in my "pinned" comment. I repurchased the hand and dish soaps. I haven't tried the dishwasher concentrate but that is up next once I run out of my current stash. I'm going to try Blueland's product b/c I hear great things. The multi surface cleaner is great and I use it on normal kitchen countertops/stove/tables/etc, but not on tough stuff. I really haven't had the chance for that. A lot of people say the bottles break easily so keep that in mind. Mine hasn't broken yet, but it worries me haha some people just buys the tabs and repurpose their old cleaning bottles instead.
      I still use Windex b/c the bottle has lasted forever! It will be years before I need to purchase a glass cleaner, but will look for sustainable options when that time arises. I typically use a bleach product when cleaning the bathroom just to make sure everything is disinfected. In terms of household products, I'm on the lookout for plastic-free bathroom cleaners (that have strong cleaning power) and laundry cleaning options.

  • @goose7574
    @goose7574 3 года назад +3

    Thank you so much for doing this video. I was thinking of getting the entire package, but I'm going to stick with my Tide for sure. I live in the country, have a dog and an 8 year old, so getting things clean (and also smelling nice- I'm somebody who likes a scent), is really important.
    I have started incorporating distilled vinegar with my cleaning (like cleaning my shower glass specifically, using blue Dawn and distilled vinegar mixed with water, makes an awesome cleaner for showers, but I HATE the smell of vinegar, so I wouldn't want to use it everywhere).
    Have you tried Meyers cleaners before? I was personally shocked with their multi surface cleaner, and just curious if you've used it and could compare this one, to that one.
    And if you haven't tried it before, and want to try something different, try it. I hate to say, I wasn't much of a "natural" cleaner person. Just stuck in my ways I guess, and also how I was raised, in the 80's Haha!
    Anyhoo, just FYI the Meyers Basil scent, smells good (nothing like actual basil, hahaha!). Kind of a mix between floral & soap, I think. They have a lavender, but I really can't do lavender, because it gives me a Headache. I've also heard that the Lemon Verbena smells good, but I live in a small town and it's always gone, so I haven't tried it.

    • @tiffanymcnerlin157
      @tiffanymcnerlin157  3 года назад +1

      Thank you for watching! Yea I'm using Tide as well b/c it's the best at cleaning clothes. Still on the lookout for a more sustainable option. I have tried Meyer's before, but not their multi surface cleaner. I like their soaps! Nothing compares to Dawn in cleaning power, but Meyer's is still nice. I'm just trying to cut out single-use plastics so that's why I've enjoyed Blueland so far (with the exception of the laundry tabs haha).
