Efficient and durable generators seem so much easier to design than efficient and durable vehicular engines. Constant RPM, weight is a lot less of an issue…
@@AmaroqStarwind the weight is a factor yes but, you can have smaller batteries because diesel has a higher energy density. What I like is taking advantage of the constant RPM , maximizing the longevity of the engine. I didn't like it at first but it's pretty cool concept by "Edison motors" , check it out.

While nothing new to me, it still was an interesting watch! Looking forward to more of your videos in the future =)
More to come!
Thanks for the lesson
You're welcome. Glad some people responded, starting to feel like our videos are barely watched recently.
Good teaching, thanks for sharing
It's amazing information as always. many thanks
Always welcome
Is the generator motor also used as a starter of the diesel engine? Or does it include a separate starter motor?
It has a separate starter motor. Dc motor. Typically 12v or 24v. Larger engines use compressed air to start.
Amazing 👍👍👍
in thrid world countries these generators are huge part of our lives because the main power goes off every few hours especially in summer

Look into diesel electric hybrid cars.
It's this principle, optimization of rpm to make the energy conversion to power 🔋
@@oscarbear7498 In a vehicle, you still gotta minimize weight. Not so, in the case of a stationary generator.

What is preferential trip and reverse power trip in Generator?
Can you please make a video regarding starting procedures of Ship Diesel Generator Engine please
