Plenty of trails to discover when you do some digging around! If you haven’t already google the Lifeofpy. He’s a WA based hiker and has a blog detailing a plethora of trails that’s he’s completed over the years. Super well written and plenty of photos to go with it too
Good day Josh, came across your channel a couple of days ago, very much enjoy your laid back style, and great footage of Outback WA. Glad to know I'm not the only one in Perth who enjoys the solitude and rewards of solo travel in this huge state of ours.
Thanks Guy, looks like you’ve had some decent travels out on the roads. Couldn’t agree more. Solo travel has its difficulties but is far outweighed by the rewards.
Hey Josh.. hello from Tas! another great video. Wow WA looks incredible. I really enjoyed the drone view, awesome! (pity about the battery!) Think I am inspired to complete some walks in WA. Keep the videos coming! Beck.
Hey Bec! You should definitely make a visit to WA. Plenty of beautiful scenery to see over here! Nothing really in comparison to the mountains of Tassie but still well worth it!
@@JoshCarrHikes they're beautiful to watch, I can see how much effort goes into just procuring the shots! At the very least you'll have a wonderful collection to remember your hikes by! But thanks so.much for uploading.
I climbed Bluff Knoll for the first time last year. It was exhausting but so much fun. I can’t believe you did it in the dark early hours - that’s commitment! Your videos are fantastic. I’ll try my best to climb these other peaks this year too.
Nice one mate. You ought to give dehydrating your own meals a go. Dehydrators are pretty cheap on ebay. Cook up your best spaghetti bolognese, spread it out on the trays and dry it out. It tastes just as good when you rehydrate it as when you cooked it. I might have to make a video of my recipes...
I've thought about it but have always brushed the idea to the side as I felt it took too much time and preparation. Maybe in the future it's something I will look into, would be interested to see what you cook up though.
Excellent video as usual. If you're after a better dehydrated meal experience then check out Feed the Hike. Local WA company and uses fresh ingredients instead of the foam that Backcountry has.
Hope you all enjoyed this one. I decided to mix it up a little and go with a more adventure style vlog, so really interested to hear any feedback! Was loads of fun exploring a place that is so close to home for me, even though I came back with one drone battery less😬
Stella effort Josh, I find your videos inspiring. I have just started my training for cape to cape in September then flying to Tassie for a little holiday. After watching your Tassie videos I might have to book another trip just to hike. Keep up the good work and thanks for making hiking on your own a less scary concept. :)
Magog and Talyuberlup are my favourites for the constant views. Talyuberlup especially has you climbing alongside the cliff wall and it gives an immediacy to the experience and a sense of greatness. Toolbrunup is a fun rock hop.
It’s amazing how each peak has its own unique beauty to it! Definitely looking forward to heading back down there! Awesome video, that intro has given me some ideas
Amazing video mate, I definitely enjoyed the vlog style of this video. Kudos to you for reaching the summit after hitting the exhaustion wall. You have persuaded me - I will have to make a trip over to WA to do the Stirling Ranges. Although I might wait for the ridge traverse to re-open first. Good stuff, keep them coming!
Cheers Aaron. I'd definitely wait until the ridge reopened as you'd be able to knock out all the peaks pretty quickly otherwise. Might even bump into you once it reopens!
LIterally just discovered your videos Josh, there awesome mate. I recently got into hiking and did bluff knoll (just about lol) last september and hope to get to do the rest someday soon. can I ask what gear you use, specifically your backpack and camera/drone. Thanks
Hiking can be addictive once you start! I use the Atlas Adventure backpack, Sony a7iii as the main camera and Mavic Pro 2 for the drone. I’ve done a vid a couple months ago of all my gear if you’re interested in seeing everything I take
Hi Josh - great video, I really enjoy the Stirling Ranges and in particular some of the less popular peaks like Mt Hassell. Can you tell us what backpack you're using? The link above is broken. I'm struggling to find a good solution for carrying cameras and other gear when hiking.
Hey John, it's called the Atlas Adventure pack. I've been using it for over a year now and cannot recommend it enough. It comes with a pretty heavy price tag but is well worth it in my opinion - geni.us/9fUFSNe
Can you recommend any good dehydrated food to get in Australia? Those backcountry cuisine meals have been a staple for me, but I'm always keen for better food.
I’ve tried a couple meals from GoNative and they were pretty nice. They’re a NZ based company and can be eaten cold but found they weren’t very filling. I’ve recently got my hands on a few meals from Strive Food and have only heard great things about them. I’ll let you know how they go in the next video!
The ones that I had in Tassie were from Three Capes Gear and Gourmet and I couldn’t believe how good they were. I haven’t done much research about what else is on offer but it’s pretty high on the to do list now
@@JoshCarrHikes Thanks for replying! Love your videos. Every time I watch your videos I get inspired to look for new trails and find a day to get out and hike. Looking forward to exploring Stirling Ranges one day when the WA border is open to NSW. Were the meals you got from Three Capes Gear and Gourmet the 'Strive Foods' ones by any chance? Just checked out their website and their stuff looks good!
I give 300 dollars if you mail me a rock that you got from one of those peaks of course you have to document the moment you pick it up and what it looks like in detail
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing your experience
Thanks for watching :)
@@JoshCarrHikes you're welcome!
Wow amazing video Josh. Keep posting it 👍😍❤
Thanks!!
Loving all the WA hikes!! So many great ideas now, so many I didn't know about

Love this Josh. Adventure mate.
Cheers Chris!
Great video Josh loved the feeling of exposure up there, I bet it's a whole different ball game in winter.
Cheers Carl. Absolutely! I’ve seen footage of some pretty crazy weather atop of bluff knoll so I’d imagine that only gets amplified in the Winter
Absolutely awesome vid... thanks for sharing .. subscribed!
Cheers!
Great footage Josh! Love it
Thanks Sandy!
I haven't done Stirling yet. Looks awesome .
Cheers Holly, it’s a specky place for sure!

Hey Josh! New sub here (An Aussie) your channel is great. Love it.
Cheers Holly!
Fantastic video. Not sure how I missed this one 🤔. I sympathise with you about the meals - Back Country are dire. I get Firepot meals from the UK.

Oh man! The battery😂😱
Yeah, not my best moment 😅
Underrated gem ! Thanks for sharing Australia’s beauty with us buddy .
My pleasure, thanks for watching 😊
Nice intro budy!
Thanks mate!
Beautiful video Josh, the Stirling Ranges are amazing
Thanks Paul, they really are!
Awesome stuff. This week is kinda a good week to push this out! thanks. and sorry about the battery, that sucks.
Thanks mate, can always buy another!
Great video👌 I didn't know WA had such spectacular peaks👌 Sorry about your battery, I hate losing things😒
Never stop making these videos mate they make my day when they're uploaded!! Great quality stuff you'll get even more popular!
Comments like these are a big reason why I'll continue to do so. Thanks heaps Lachlan, really appreciate the support

GOOSEBUMPS! Literally, every single shot was awesome, loved watching the video. Really forces to put everything into perspective.

Love the videos Josh - You keep making me closer to dipping my tow in the water and giving hiking a go!
I like the chats/info during the video
Bloody awesome haven’t even watched the video yet but had to say that intro was insane
Thanks Lenny, appreciate it!
Noice vid... Yep drone batteries are expensive!!
Unfortunately something I know all too well 😕
My favourite video of yours bro. This was unreal. Love seeing the vlogging the packing sequence and of course the ranges in those drone shots.
Cheers Cam, appreciate it dude!
The Stirling Ranges is my absolute fav place to visit/hike. Stirling Ranges drive is surreal.
For sure, I loved the drive in! Corrugations were bad in some spots though, but nothing a little speed cant fix 😂

Toolbrunup is a fun rock hop.
I agree, absolutely loved Talyuberlup! It's just that little bit sweeter too as it doesn't seem like it gets too much foot traffic
What a machine! Stellar effort to do all those peaks in such a short time. I'll have to make sure to check these out whilst in WA.
Thanks mate, you definitely should it's worth it!
It’s amazing how each peak has its own unique beauty to it! Definitely looking forward to heading back down there! Awesome video, that intro has given me some ideas
It’s unreal hey, thought the same thing each time I summited a peak. Enjoy!
great shots mate, loved the intro b-roll too
