Hey, great video! I just have a question about the bracelet: do you know in which year they started to produce the newer one(mk2)? I was wondering if it can be originally mounted on a 2960 from 1982. On the back of one link is engraved "04 / 91": what could it mean? Thanks!
Unfortunately I’m not well versed with specific year productions because it’s hard to find that information with Cartier from the 80s. The case never changed so if you have the full bracelet with endlinks it should fit any Carree head.
Hi. Quick question. Can this watch be manually wound? I have one and it seems to run fine but when I try to manually wind it if I’m not going to wear it for a day or so the crown seems to have resistance like when a Manually wound watch is fully wound.
I gifted one to my father last year before he was diagnosed with cancer. Three weeks ago my father passed.
I hope the watch brought your father joy.
Seriously informative video!
Wearing mine right now, completely by chance. Excellent video, nice and comprehensive 👍🏼
Great to hear! It’s an amazing watch!

One of the better videos I have ever seen on a reference. Found bc of Pusher’s Insta Story 💡📝
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Hi, How many links will come with? Currently looking at a 90s example. Thanks
Great video, very informative!
Do you know that the bracelet of Cartier 2961 fits Cartier 2966 or not?
Thank you.
The Cartier 2961 lug width is 17.5 so if the 2966 is the same then yes but I believe it to be much smaller.
@ Thanks for the reply.
Wow.

I see a lot of 2961s as opposed to 2960s. Were there more two tones produced than the all steel?
I believe there were much fewer steel examples produced, yes.
Which is older? The ones with “Santos de Cartier” or those with just “Cartier” on the caseback?

It’s very normal for these to be hard to whine because first the crown is so small and the gaskets usually add a little bit of restraint.
Price range for a 2961, watch only, good condition?
Ranging from $5,500-$6,500
What does GM mean in Carree GM?
GM is an abbreviation created by retailers and dealers to state GRAND MODEL which is the largest size of a specific carrier model.
