- Governance models were developed by each Indigenous nation to control their citizens and establish normative behaviors. The Americas are replete with a variety of examples: from patriarchal and matrilineal-based societies to complex political systems governing multi-nation empires.

I'm not certain about other nations in the Americas but in the eastern woodland they believed it was impossible to speak to the creator who lived in the sky world. You can't pray to God without the use of smoke to lift up your thoughts and birds could take your messages to the creator. So when you smoke it's important to be honest and have good thoughts.
Yes I agree with you. Everyone that drinks and smokes.... spirits can here u through these things. Weather it be good or bad
This is very well done . Thank you 👍 Editing and Directing was Excellent. Never lost interest.I personally like how is showed The Hopewell and others timeline in relation to the rest of the world. All the presenters we're great. Greetings from Ohio
Amazing history. Amazing People.
Thanks so much for the video.
That's what we all have to do bring our hearts and minds to perfect harmony. Then we will can all bond to each other in peace and love
⁸
You mean like burning people at the stake which could and did take days to kill the victim? Or biting off their fingers one joint at a time? Or maybe eating their enemies in battle? No the natives weren't concerned with harmony in their hearts and minds. The facts of history prove otherwise
Why does Hianwatha look like Kevin Nealon? Guess it’s hard to find native actors.
😂
Exactly!
This is the 5th episode on 8 (The untold story of the americas before Columbus) : Governance and trade. So, wrong title :)
History channel do you have any history on Indigenous peoples of Australia?
what's the point? they'll just omit truths and create a pro-indigenous propaganda piece
Peacemaker probably existed in some respect or other but the timeline of when the uniting of the tribes occurred is almost impossible to know since it’s all oral history and when the population gets decimated so badly it becomes even more difficult for the oral histories to be passed down
We could argue that the term "medieval" applies only to European History, European Continent.
Wow good
The Mississippians were the largest nation in the Americas during the 1500s. Covered like half of The modern day US.
My grandmother was born in Cherokee reservation land in Oklahoma I was asking home once what language spoke when she was little and she said Iroquois.
There is no Iroquois language. There is mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga Seneca and Tuscarora languages. You could say there were other Iroquoian languages also but no Iroquois language.
But...
A good video non the less...
Ahhh Onondaga nation my home
Who was this peacemaker?
who was the peacemaker?
Deganawida
Mankind entered America by land bridge.
Great title! To be even more "accurate" you could have called this:
Hianwatha: "The Ancient Bloody Grudge Of The Iroquois Chiefs....and the Vikings traded goods in Europe and the Middle East 1200 years ago" 🤣🤣🤣
This is the 5th episode on 8 (The untold story of the americas before Columbus) : Governance and trade. So, wrong title :)
Essentially...
12:15 Why disrespect the Nubians? They were attacked by plenty of nations & even defeat the Egyptians at some point.
Ok documentary but one thing i dont agree with is they put in wrong men to play tadadaho n peacemaker and hiewatha!
Right should of been a gay blay woman
It's the Renaissance...
Actually the dezivonians where here first.
Actually no.
The Denivosons r from Asia, Eurasia, it's possible!
1491 IS NOT Medieval...
The mediaeval ran from 476 AD to 1492 AD, that's from the fall of the Western Roman Empire to the discovery of the Americas by Columbus.
Natives should put aside there differences and come together against Non Natives mostly Whites, Ashkenazi Jews, And Hispanics(Mestizos And Pardos)
It's a scientific fact that other than registered full Native ppl and tribes, Mexicans, including Mexican Americans, carry more Native DNA than any other group. Mexico carries more full Native tribes and Native languages than any other country and South America ain't no slouch either! Ignorant ppl, Mexican/Latino, some of us have more blood quantum than is needed to be in a tribe! These ppl don't know much, but quick to talk crap!
@jonnyneace8928You find them everywhere, on any foreign site, any subject. How many tens or hundreds of thousands? And they all sound like the same person. Toxic, poison, discord, dichotomous thinking, narrow-small minds, negative, contrary - the smart mouth that gets their jaw busted in the bar. So they're behind the safety of a keyboard. They try to bring down the vibe. What an existence.
@jonnyneace8928 Agreed ! ....... and, obviously, not funny.
The first people in the Americas were related to the Australian Aborigines.
Don't care
@jonnyneace8928 Because my ancestors conquered the people this video is about.
@jonnyneace8928 No. It really isn't.
@JNeace-uk8ue The superior people won. That is the level of complexity.
@JNeace-uk8ue If I was lying this continent would still be inhabited by nomadic tribes living in the stone age.
@JNeace-uk8ue Whose language are you speaking? How many native Americans have walked on the moon? Equality is a social construct.
