I had a supervisor once that had to call in because she was in the hospital from trying to literally unalive herself and their response was “but you don’t have pto” THE AMERICAN WORKERS RIGHTS LINE WAS TOO REAL💀
The popcorn machine, ice cream machine, coffee maker and tea machine are the most annoying appliances in this damn game. I never add them because the sims will make pot after pot and piss themselves or have ice cream or popcorn forever
YES! instead of going too sleep they would go too the coffee machine
One time I added a tea pot to my sims home as a treat because she got a promotion and then I had to delete it ten minutes later because she had way to much tea for her good.
I discovered using the expresso machine stops this because it requires them to use two appliances. So for my 'well off' households I add it

Once again, a mod saved my sanity. the Less Obsession mod by Vicky Sims helps with a bunch of those obsessive behaviors. Bienchen also has many mods to help with obsessive behaviors. They shouldn't be necessary, but it IS the Sims. What would it be without mods?
Carla causes shit and insults everyone but draws the line at homophobia by the 3 and a half minute mark. I appreciate that.
Yeah she straight up physically assaults multiple sims but even Stefany knows that homophobia is disgusting. Love to see it

@@CallmeRexy It may be because violence in the sims is a little more "goofy" and unrealistic while insulting someones sexual orientation is something that is unfortunately realistic.

I like to think Stephanie is doing all of this because she absolutely hates her job but can’t quit outright because she’s stuck in a contract xD
She'll get severance if she's sacked, but not if she resigns
If I risked burning to death whenever I cooked grilled cheese I'd eat ice cream all the time too 😂
You have such endless creativity when figuring out how to keep enjoying the Sims.
All the worlds in this game have backgrounds that hint that the current towns/cities used to be industrial centers and then became suburban instead after the industries left (Willow Creek had plantations, Oasis Springs mentions mining and oil drilling, Moonwood Mill had a Mill, Evergreen Harbor had a quarry, etc, etc, etc). I’m starting to think maybe the Sims 4 universe had some kind of economic calamity and so that’s why maybe employers are so lenient and it’s so difficult to get fired. I mean, it’d make sense…especially given that sims can literally grow money via the money tree (definitely explains the weird pricing of everything as well). In a way it makes the Star Wars pack seem really out of place since the Star Wars universe isn’t nearly as economically odd as the Sims 4 universe. Thanks for making this video. It never occurred to me to find out how long it’d take a sim to get fired because I don’t ever really keep my sims in a career for a long time. I honestly hadn’t ever seen any top level careers until my niece was playing and she has a couple who are at the top of their careers (doctor and teacher) and they own a retail store and restaurant. Then she had them adopt a kid and remember commenting that I thought it’d be tough being their kid. Can’t pretend to be sick to miss school cause one parent is a doctor and is head of the local hospital and have to get good grades because the other parent is head of the university you’re expected to attend. Meanwhile the only restaurants and stores in town are owned by your parents and their immediate friends…even the police, vet, interior decorator, and crazy scientist are your parents’ friends! When she got the Cottage Living pack I remember asking her if they were going to move and start a farm, but nah she just had another friend of the parents do that and then had the kid go visit and help out on the farm. LOL And that was before I found your videos, Lilsimsie’s nightmare legacy videos, and James Turner’s Bigwallet family rags to riches series where I saw that actually all things considered my niece’s sim family’s kid is actually pretty lucky! LOL
Great video! Now I know that if I ever do take the careers more seriously with my gameplay that I don’t have to freak out if they’re missing work occasionally. They’ll be fine! And here I’ve been making them switch jobs whenever I think they might get close to getting fired because they missed a day or two of work. Turns out they’re fine!
I doubt they thought that far ahead but that’s really interesting to think about! Honestly tempting to make a save file centered around when the calamity was at its peak.
@@anglerq Agreed, I do not think the developers thought that far at all. I just noticed that in every world the game developers make its history includes info about what the place used to be like and it’s like a similar story over and over again with them just swapping different types of industry. I mean even San Sequoia. During the reveal video where the developers were playing and showing off the game they told us that the lore is that the city used to have sequoia trees, but they were all logged and so there’s just the one remnant that remains in that one neighborhood sims can go visit. They then talked about fishing being important to it as well at one time (still using the past tense) before talking about how it’s a great place for families to live. LOL
Oh a save file set at the time of the peak of the calamity could be an interesting challenge as well as a way to create some neat storylines for sims and families! I might have to do that.

I had a sim get fired once. It was around the time the cats and dogs pack came out (I remember this cause I made her a vet after she got fire). I don't really remember what trait she had cause it was so long ago but whatever trait it was it made her hate working and always try to skip or take it easy at work. She got fired after reach level 5 or 6 which really annoyed me. I think it was the irresponsible trait from parenthood cause after that I became reluctant to let any of my kids swing towards the red 😂
Could also be the Freegan trait, my boyfriend gave his Simself that trait and it was driving me crazy because his Sim would be angry or depressed every time he went to work 😭 realistic though
@@sav9373 That's a good guess but that pack didn't exist at the time. I also have a freegan sim currently and they are equally annoying. Can't even do the freelancer career 😤. But the only packs I had at the time was vampire, city living, go to work, cats and dogs, get together, dining out and parenthood. I only remember this because I broke my computer and had to restart my the family I had just made in 2017
The same thing happened to me in the social media career. I wanted to change my career branch and it didn’t work, I could reapply to the same job but it was at the same level I got fired from. I researched it and apparently the game is programmed to overwrite careers once you get to level 5 and choose a career branch. So for example, choosing Public Relations in the Social Media career will reset the whole career path, and you’ll be at level 1 of the Public Relations career, rather than level 5 of the Social Media career.
My sims get fired a lot 😂 sometimes I forget to send them to work and they don’t do there daily activity but it was fun to see it usually you can call in fake sick too
i ended up actually having a sim get fired a few months back, i didn’t have any of the skills and i made one wrong choice. i was distraught i didn’t even get a warning for it.😂

When my sims have a coffee machine they NEVER sleep. It’s so annoying. And then the coffee machine always spoils cuz they dont drink it all
The only ones fired for me were where you can choose to do something which gets them fired like it tells you they will lose their job.

You need to have high either charisma or mischief skill to call in sick to work and i think different jobs demote quicker / slower to others x
Once you choose your career branch you’ll get fired if you get demoted lol. I tried that with my sim because I wanted to change her career branch but apparently level 5 rewrites itself to level 1 so I just got fired immediately. Because of this you also can never change career branches. Great programming!

I’ve had like a handful of career options that would result in me being fired if I chose them but I haven’t ever chosen that option yet

Fascinating experiment. I have wondered what would happen if a sim lost all their money and didn't get a job. How long could they live with no lights and no water? Turn down the money phone calls etc. I don't think you can kill a sim this way. I try it, but it gets too depressing, lol.

I put a coffee machine in my sims kitchen and they just would not stop drinking coffee, I would tell them to stop drinking it and they'd just go make a fresh coffee, if I didn't have their queue full of stuff they'd just get a coffee, finished the coffee and queues empty? they'd grab another coffee. so annoying.

I know that if you do badly in the doctor and police career when you join them to work you can be fired quite quickly.
Next time do a job that you go to work with Sim. You can cause some real damage
