Nah, it was a novelty gift at that point. Same thing when Captain Bluddflag stole the Inquisitor Andrastia's hat at the end of his story. Even if all your boyz die and your machines turned to scrap after killing an enemy, a good Ork at least gets what they came for before leaving.

I dunno. Gabriel seems dour as ever, Macha is still fast and loose when it comes to her alliances and Gorgutz is an Ork making him like almost every other Ork out there.
I agree with both of you. Maybe the reason is that they're just playing it safe. Dawn of War has always been ambitious with each new numbered game, they've always got far more confident and well written as you go through expansions.
Not just the characters, the factions and units as a whole, they made Assault Marines 'light Armour units' ffs.

I didn't even like it actually. Feels like the small vids don't do the Universe justice. I did like the Marines versus the Witch in DoW II.
When the Ork dialogue feels awkward and clumsy, you know you messed up.
Gorgutz wasn't angry enough, in all honesty all the ork dialog was too passive and mushy, not Orky at all.
well to be far he proved to more crafty than angry. He's more towards Mork, Cunning but brutal. at least in this game, if he's a reaccuring character that has proven more towards gork than ok.

And they paid dearly for it. The game struggled to make even 70,000 sales on release on Steam and the community is essentially dead less than 2 months after the game's release, for a game that focused entirely on the multiplayer aspect.
This is what happens when you ignore what the fans actually want and make a butchered mess of a game that feels like an LoL and Starcraft knock-off and betrays what the franchise stands for in order to appeal to as wide an audience as possible: nobody is happy with the end product and nobody wins.

I am not much into W40K, but this felt off even to me.
To be fair, from her perspective, the Inquisitor and Space Marines knew they were in trouble for a while but were just sitting back and eating popcorn as her people were fighting and dying alone. So in this one case, I'm personally giving her an exception to vent right there.

I actually really enjoyed this. I liked how the Space Marines were not the 'main' focus but instead the Eldar. The Orks were less annoying and at least he got he's pointy stick.
Factions fighting one another before uniting to face badder evil. Sounds familiar ? Because that is exactly the plot of DOW 1.

I still prefer to watch this than actually slog my way through the game. That's how un-fun it is.
I love how the Blood Ravens actually destroyed the relic instead of just stealing it and pretending it was destroyed before using it and claiming it was a gift from the inquisition. So out of character

I've found that MANY people are disappointed with DoW3 (myself included), and I think the reason is because DoW3 isn't the same as DoW2 (DoW2 had loot, lots of Macro-gameplay and less of a focus on heroes, than DoW3). But people who like DoW3 didn't like DoW2, so it's really just a personal preference thing imo. DoW3 isn't a bad game at all; It just simply isn't what DoW2 was, and I think many people just wanted another DoW2 (myself included). But there's hope for DoW3 yet, because currently there's only 3 races, and they plan on releasing atleast 3 more races (as they did with DoW2, in the form of DLC/expansions). So hopefully those new races and perhaps more campaigns will make the game worth the $60
That was true. I don't like DoW2 but I like DoW3 so much but I'm still spending 200+ hours in both games but I'm gonna spend beyond that for DoW3. Pro players also enjoyed the game so I think the game wasn't that bad as people think.
DoW2 actually had lots of micro gameplay. Macro gameplay in DoW2 was nearly non-existant.
They Should just hire DOW1's Ultimate Apocalypse team for DOW4 or an expansion if one comes out...they actually managed to pull off a game that resembled 40k...

Everyone keeps telling me Gorgutz won Kaurava cause he "got borded of kurrava" and "learned the secrets of the eldar world" And then i find out he apparently didn't bring his gigantic waaagh from his victory?, having to backstab a local warlord to gain forces.... He probably screwed over the already spread thin Blood Ravens(thanks to Boreale's genius) the got his ass kicked by another faction due to the loss of men and resources fighting the Blood Ravens

How does a battlebarge ramming a planet result in a destroyed planet? Especially when the planet is gigantic?
The warp core explodes or something. There is a lore story where an imperial vessel is warped in by Dark Eldar to Commoragh and it falls in and destroys like an entire webway-planet
That planet was almost breaking on its own. Its the only explanation I can come up with.

Space marines are asexual and Eldar look at humans in the same way we would look at an ape. Gabriel would probably be considered touched by Chaos if he did fall for Macha while she would be considered insane and probably forced to be exiled or killed.

When you see him, Gorgutz seems like he is old when he walks. Granted that he got more experienced over the years, it is like: Damn Gorgutz, how old are you by the imperium calendar?
Orks don't get old. They just grow bigger.
Angry historian we don't actually know, all the orks that the imperium know died from fighting before getting enough old to suffer such effects. So maybye orks can get old, especially if you consider that there body is made to fight and fight long enough to win, not to survive in a long period
Those are not even cinematics. Those are moving stills. Dow1 did this better with it's glorious intro. Heck, even most animes have more motion that this crap.
You can't animate 90 minutes of dialogue in CGI with any kind of realistic RTS budget. The story presentation here works pretty similarly to games like Warcraft or Starcraft.
It is never about the cinamatics its all about the story/lore when it comes to anything regarding Warhammer 40K.

Gorgutz is a hulking 10 foot monster, but sounds like some geezer down at the pub. Maybe nitpicking, but I much preferred the intimidating boom they gave his voice in DoW. His character just doesn't seem all that threatening here. Orks have always been the sort-of lesser threat in the universe, but in such a grim setting, even a lesser threat could still cause the extinction of mankind
"Blood Ravens do not abandon loyal soldiers of the Emperor". Of course not, they only slaughter entire regiments if they give the Blood Ravens full command of their forces.
I thought the orks were mindless war beasts with just enough intelect to create rudimentary tech but this war boss is actually quite clever.

Yeah, they used proper sentence structure way too much. And they kept saying "war" instead of "Waagh", and a lot of other instances of speech far too indirect and complex to be your bog-standard ork. That's their whole shtick: they talk like they're the least educated people you've ever met, who may or may not be borderline retarded. They're brutish, violent, simple, and brutally direct. Nobody but a warboss should use filler phrases or bridges like "as for (name)", and even then it should only be a segue to a threat.
The Orks in DoW3 remind me a lot of the Orks in Deff Sqwaddron. They're perfect.

Where do I begin with the story?
Relic went the easy way out for this game's story by revealing the most common of twists: it was Chaos all along.
I used to praise this game for switching between factions throughout the game, but in the case of it's story, it works against it. I think in this situation, 3 separate campaigns would have been a better approach.
And aside from the lore inaccuracies here and there, the story of DOW3 is still weaker than DOW1. :/
So a Warcraft scenario, with a Diablo ending, with a 40k design...... Glad I didnt spend my money there, I cant wait to serve the Emperor properly.

Warcraft and StarCraft have a different direction and tone compared to Warhammer. I don't think Blizzard made RIP offa.

Dow1 was a masterpiece, graphics were good enough and the story was so immersive, the characters were really cool and pretty much all likeable (apart from that one cultist, yall know who) but this game just failed with a lot of thing, they tried too hard and lost how simple and well structured the first game was in the graphics of this one

Chaos has a tendency to induce that in some cases. no one likes Chaos, not even Chaos itself; the Gods of the Warp LOVE clashing against one another in their "Great Game".
N Sil You'd be surprised how much times this type of temporary alliance has been made. Orks are okay with stopping with killing humans if they see another big ennemy around (like chaos or nids), and eldars are reasonables enough to be trusted temporarily (altough they'll inevitably betray their temporary allies once their objectives are achieved)
And the Imperium.. well, they rarely accept this kind of HERESY!, but some humans leaders might be more reasonable (I mean, HERETICAL!)
Eldar-human team ups were going on since the first Eye of Terror campaigns. And Eldars and humans working with orks were also since forever. Not as equal partners of course, but they had arrangements.
Whoever did the trailer for this game is amazing, gave me such hopes...

Orks don't care what they have to do if there's something of value to them they will get it no matter the cost. Gorgutz wanted the spear, he got the spear hell i wouldn't be surprised if some random Gretchen tried to nab it Gorgutz would of pounded it dead.
Gorgutz of Dawn of war 1 was more fearsome, and even the game itself, as old as it is, better than this Dawn of War 3.

My fucking God not even 30 minutes through and I'm already despising everything but the orks, who are entertainingly British (yes I'm British) But dear god I hate the inconsistencies from Dow 2... Jonah is dead, why tf is he back? Diomedes practically confirmed this during the final mission, and then bam here he is again with almost no explanation as to how. Diomedes is way to sarcastic now 'oh you play politics, I'll purge this planet' I don't think he would EVER regard angelos like that, no tarkus, unless he is in the video later and I'm just impatient before making my criticisms but eldar are involved in this, and where there's eldar tarkus is normally there beating each one over the head with his bolter individually. Oh and angelos is shit now... He's doing backflips in terminator armour ffs... I brought this up to a GW employee as an experiment to see how they'd justify something so bs, and they actually tried!!! They told me that becuase 'oh cybernetic enhancements terminators aren't actually slow blah blah' the fucking DARK ANGELS CODEX says that they are lumbering brutes, slow and unwieldy but like a sledgehammer, useful through just brutal efficiency...
Anyway, that's my rant nowhere near over and done with, but I'm sick of typing this and I'm going to go back to the willing torture that is watching this train wreck, have a good one! (Or don't?)

A Craftworld Eldar Warlord with a personal army... Eldar supported by a Farseer being surprised by the presence of Orks... An Inquisitor thinking he has authority over Adeptus Astartes and talking big to a Chapter Master... Orks having a relatively civilized conversation without any punching or shooting...
This game doesn't just have problems with the gameplay, but also with the Lore.

This game gave us 2 good things 1. Good Music 2. An awesome Trailer. everything else is shit.
Can't lie. For all the mess the models look great. The little details, the joints in the movement, the knights -it's damn good.

What was wrong with the cinematics?
This game is worth like 2$ at most - lackluster on arrival, dead within a month, no longevity since progress is bound to a server that will be shut down any day now. A one time mediocre campaign is all it has to offer
By the Emperor, there's so much minot issues that it piles up and sours everything. Did they not get the same VA for Angelos from DOW 1 and 2? He sounds different and it really irks me as someone who spent countless hours on both DOW games and expansions. Character personalities are all whack, Angelos feels subdued, writing is all over the place. I feel like the only characters that stayed consistent with previous iterations are Diomedes and Gorgutz, but that's stretching it. The movement and animations is too fast. Astartes and Orks should not be as agile as Eldar. Don't get me started on Angelos backflippingn in Terminator Armor. Textures are amazingly too clean and crisp. The tone is also pretty whack. Even in brighter worlds like Typhon Primaris and Calderis, you could feel that it's 40K. You could slap these maps on a SC2 campaign and it would look right at home. Overall DOW3's campaign was pretty dissapointing. If they ever get to making DOW 4, I hope it's gritty like the first two again.

Austin Bemister It is interesting that someonemade one Eldar leader so hell bent on getting more power. I could have sworn Eldar are a little above that.
You don't know the Eldar then! They would fight each other if a Prophecy said that one of their own was gonna bring ruin onto an entire craftworld while the other had a Prophecy that called them to protect the very craftworld the other sides Prophecy said that one of the other side was gonna end up putting in danger.
They wouldn't have a petty war on a planet about it, they would have the Council of Seers convene and decide which is true, and an Autarch (who is just a battle commander, not a craftworld leader) would listen to them and do as he was told.
Autarchs aren't warlords that can send forces where they want.
It's straight up the opposite of what an Autarch is. They aren't warlords with their own armies, they're commanders that are sent by the seers to orchestrate the craftworld's warhosts.
To be fair, Biel-Tan always has very arrogant and brutal Autarch. Farseer have lesser power on this Craftworld unlike Ulthwe or Altansar.
And considering Kyre sought he could save the entire race by recovering the Spear, it justifies the sacrifice for him. After all, Yvraine almost entirely destroyed Biel-Tan in ordrer to summon the Yncarne (even if the Infinity Matrix of the Craftworld was already doomed, so she just kick the Masque out of it by summoning Ynnead).
It is actually kind of depressing how regular ork boyz are as strong and tough as tactical space marines in the tabletop.
I have never seen this anime before but I do like what I see here. I hope to catch in whole someday.

Nothing worse than making a game with beautiful graphics and everything else shit. Where's fucking chaos? Where are tyranids and genestealers? Where is the Tau empire? Where are the necrons!?
You have to remember (other people in the comments are also raging about this), that this game is new (or atleast WAS new when I made this video). And that the developers still plan to add new races/features to the game. The previous DoW games also only released with 3-4races, but later more races was added (I believe in DoW2 there was a total of 8 races in the end). So people just need to chill, and wait for more races to be added to the game.
LFP Gaming yeah but it was a problem, the developers COULD SEE THIS BY LOOKING AT THESE 2 GAMES and actually add some races and not make a game look incomplete and in need of 5 dlc

Also, you expect anyone to actually add DLC to this trainwreck? For that to work they have to have like a 90% discount at the same time. OR go free to play.

An Astartes Chapter Master getting approval from a petulant no name Inquisitor, a Farseer being ignored in regard to prophecy by an Autarch, Orks sounding like man babies, an Autarch dispatching a Farseer as an assassin, a Phoenix Lord indulging in petty politics, a psyker needing technology to find a target,
Overall, a worse plot line than the current Primaris Marine/restoration of a Primarch by Xenos main story.
"You know what would fit really well in WH40k that the fans will totally love? Let's have the last mission of the game be a deviant three-way between a greenskin, a knife-ear, and a space marine. And then let's NOT have them kill each-other afterward~"
That was a stupid ending. They should have added one more mission where you get to choose one faction and kill off the other two after the demon was finally out of the way. "C'mon guys lets just be friends and unite against the greater evil~" and "Forget about the armies and bases what's really important is the HEROES~" are the most retarded ideas to ever hit the RTS genre and devs need to stop.
Yeah, I really disliked how they portrayed the inquisition. Again.
