  • On Monday, December 5th and 6th, Simple Flying had the opportunity to travel internationally on a relatively new startup airline. Departing from Mexico City’s new Felipe Ángeles International Airport, we were onboard Arajet’s flight to Santo Domingo Las Américas International in the Dominican Republic.
In today’s video, we look at the experience of going through this relatively new Mexican airport, as well as what it’s like to fly with a brand-new start-up airline - less than three months old! So if you’re ready - let’s get started!

Once they start flying in the U.S where there large Dominican communities in NYC, MIA, BOS, PHI and few other cities, that's where there really going to make money as we are tired of the abuses from the U.S. carriers as flight to the Dominican Republic from the U.S are high profitable routes.

Direct flights would always be more expensive compared to connecting flights. There are tons of cheap connecting flights from the US to Dominican Republics all year long.

@Nathy Harris You're right about the bad service on board they offer but this is not true that you gonna find this bad service in other carriers offering a different service as a long haul flight. Everything is different. Anyways there are several videos of people suffering the consequences of them errors and some of them talking bad to the passengers.

The Dominican carrier Arajet has requested US Department of Transportation (DOT) authorization to begin operating scheduled commercial passenger services to three destinations, San Juan (SJU), Miami (MIA), and New York John F. Kennedy (JFK) or New York Stewart International Airport (SWF). If approved, this would be Arajet’s entrance to the largest market in the Americas; the airline already operates routes to 17 destinations in 11 countries across South America, Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

I Believe Arajet Airlines of Dominican Republic will become a successful Airline also The USA Can be Challenging for them however they can look into Markets that is served in various U.S. Cites there first then they can make there move afterwards New York and Miami is the Key Destinations the Airline can fly too even Boston,Philadelphia,Orlando,Fort Lauderdale and many Others too can join as well they can even Partner up with US Carriers there Like JetBlue Airways and American Airlines which also Dominate both Latin Americas from both States then there is Canada with Westjet Airlines & Air Canada that they can partner as well a Codeshare Agreement from Arajet Airlines can be helpful for there Operations but we'll wait to see what happens next Awesome Video!!!!

The youngest carrier in my history was Australia's Compass Airlines. I flew their A300 service from Cairns QLD to Melbourne VIC during my first visit down under. The carrier was less than 8 months old, and unfortunately for the very enthusiastic crew (especially since the flight operated overnight) it didn't get much older. Good luck to Arajet!

We flew from SDQ to CUN in early January. I was impressed. Better legroom than US mainline carrier economy seats. The rest is low fare, but the service was very good. They are new, so I hope some of the issues we had in on-time departures. Perhaps these will improve as they mature. I did not see any urgency to minimize the delay or try to reduce it. First flight on a MAX, was a little nervous, but all went well and the flight operations seemed smooth. I would fly on them again. And yes the logo and color scheme is great. New planes so no real comment there, of course they were nice.

You should have mentioned that at the time you made this video, the airport was recently open and that is why there were a few flights. Secondly the airport will have train connections to Mexico City center that that will shorten the time to 35 minutes. Thirdly, the airport is not small at all, it has a military air base a huge military base, three museums, a civil and a military hotel and in a future the terminal is expected to be expanded. In the counter position of the current terminal building.
