Do you know where the studies are on the efficacy of the 3 word recall test or how many words that start with F? There are 3 little articles I’ve found, but not any decent studies to justify giving that test to the elderly. I know it's a standard test and I’m betting someone came up with it decades ago, and it has just been passed on down without any clear research. I’m writing a graphic memoir of how I used my health and fitness knowledge to stop my mother with mild dementia from forgetting me, and it worked. She always knew me. I’ve been flummoxed on the actual studies for the 3 word recall test and the cube drawing test. I want to put that in my book.
No accomadation is when your eyes are able to focus from a close oject to a far object. Consensual reflex is when the other pupil constricts when light Is shine to the other
I'm concerned that so many people are commenting that this is the best video they've come across...aren't you learning these skills in nursing school and practicing on a classmate, family member, or in clinical setting? I guess seeing it all play out at once makes it easy to understand, but my professors do this for us in class - they do a demo and then we study and have to perform the assessment to pass.
And still, no, they do not provide demos. Thankfully, I already have a background in Healthcare, but my colleagues are being done a disservice because of the tone the professors are setting, which is that they should already know it. People don't honestly want to teach or learn how to teach. Sadly, my professors have been in the game for quite some time, and this is how they educate us. It's a shame.
they don't do demos, really. they just discuss what the assessment is about, provide the checklist, and that's it - you're expected to know what to do exactly during the return demo.
When is something like this done in real life? In Germany only neurologists learn and practice this, as nurses we only asses the bp, pulse and pain scale and if needed sp02 and pupil reaction. We didn’t even learn any cranial nerve anatomy don’t even know what that is lmao
This has been this best informative and engaging video on neurological assessment I've come across. Simply and to the point. Great video
Definitely needed this video perfect timing
Why doesn’t this video have 100,000 views and likes? Amazing! Thanks
This is a great video, I'm a new grad nurse on a ICU Neuro Step Down and my assessments suck so this is very helpful!
It is very useful for me ❤
Thank you so much❤

You answered it yourself; having a simplified video helps to recall information regardless of the quality of instruction.
Covid times

My school doesn’t do in depth examples until the practice tests
Honestly I won't remember this so lt wasn't that helpful l have to be able to do it by myself 😢

In America we do this.
