My goodness, the new Vomitory is an absolute banger. And sounding a fair bit more melodic than ever, too. It gives me strong vibes of "When Glory Turns to Ruin" by Revel in Flesh from their Death Kult Legions album. Cannot wait :) .

Yes, tons of DM bands can get more DM than this. This song in particular is very thrashy, melodic with BM influences. Don't get me wrong; I liked the song but it's not a pure DM song.
Yes, like in any serious discussion about metal Sweden has to come up. Because Sweden takes it in and does it better than everyone else, whether it be black metal, death metal or power metal.

I hear Wolfbrigade and Driller Killer. Not sure if that's just accumulated Swedish punk scene influence, especially hardcore punk from early days until 90s hardcore punk/crust punk. D-beats are dead giveaway. There are few Swedish bands using this punk beat extensively and some more grindcore influenced death metal bands, but it's not common in metal. Outside those Bolt Thrower-ish and Swedeath riffs there is also punk power chords (also used in grindcore) which I adore. To me, as a big fan of and for more then 2 decades, their base sound is like combining Vader and Driller Killer/Wolfbrigade and some grindy stuff from US.

In case of Vomitory I alwas liked their use of d beat in combination with blasty DM and Bolt thrower rifs in slower parts. Also You got a goodd point with Vader. When i heard for the first time song Chaos Fury from Blood Rapture i thought myself - man Vader changed sound a little bit , hehe. Iam not sure if i know other orthoidox DM band which use D beat like Vomitory. ( yeah there is lots of death crust bands out there)
@@Bzzuco1430 Driller Killer are one of my personal favorites in all styles of extreme music along Vomitory and many more. I just love extreme punk, hardcore stuff. Driller Killer's discography is to my flawless basically. Driller Killer vocalist even featured at Revelation Nausea at the chorus of one song. As for Vomitory's general sound, I'm also sucker for d-beat parts. It's just adds the aggression and there is no escape from high velocity pummeling into head with hammer-like accented snare. Not to mention the punk riffs that go along such riffs, such a good combo. Yeah, it's very uncommon in metal, grindcore being the sole exception (if we gonna consider grindcore a metal subgenre at all, but that another discussion) and some crossover bands. Early Grave, Dismember and Entombed albums had those destructive d-beat parts, but not at that velocity/BPM. Guy from Vomitory plays it like he's imitating a drummer from Mob 47 or Krigshot.
