I've recently pulled my Kaens out after not playing them for 10 years... I have a small collection (about 15) which I had built over near Roi Et... I'm in Germany now and my Keesut is perhaps 20 years old. I'm thinking about replacing it with bee's wax due to a shortage of Keesut in Germany 🤣... Or do you have a better substitute... I was under the impression Keesut is part bees wax anyway?
i found an old one in a thrift store, the canes are all split and stuff, so not reparable, but it does still make awesome sounds for someone that doesnt know anything about music, can i learn to play the khaen on this one to see if i like it?
I would not recommend it. I think you should have one that works right and it will make you actually want to play. If it is split down passed the tuning slots you won't even get the right pitch.
Thanks Jonny ❤
