The signal chain is plugged direct from an Ampeg RB112 onto a Universal Audio Volt 276 in Logic Pro X. Using no plug-ins and a teeny bit of compression from the Volt 276 in play-throughs.
For strings I used on this review: DR Pure Blues 45-105 & La Bella Deep Talkin Flatwounds 760FS 45-105

They are loud, compressed, dark, smooth and modern. Not my cup of tea, but that's a matter of taste. Not bad at all, just different, they will certainly have their fans.

They sound a much more full and rounder than the stock pickups. It's a lot easier to carve away some the extra deep low end than eq the entire spectrum to balance all 4 strings like you would need to on the original set.

How do these compare to the seymour duncan 1/4 pickups ? From my inexperienced ears it seems like these pickups have a lot more low end, while the seymour duncan ones seem to have a mid boost.
