A few months ago i bought myself the Energizer Vision HD+ 315 Lumens headlight with spot light, flood light and red light (night vision) function. It runs for about 6 hours (High) and has a 85meters beam distance with pivot light and it's water-resistant. Price was around $35. Best head light ever made and i'm very pleased and satisfied with this head light.
Just stepped into the Spot 350 at REI of Reading, MA. Even got the same white one as shown here. Last headlamp I had was 20 years ago; they've come a long way!
I've had many. Petzl lasts over 12 years and still perfect. Dropped so many times. Just got a new one. Other brands just break that I've tried like black diamond.
For UL backpacking the Nitecore NU25 is hard to beat. All the features you need, good (rechargeable) battery life, and super lightweight (0.9 on my scale for the body, and 0.8 for the strap), or about 2/3 as much as the UL pick in this video. If you make a DIY strap, you can shave it down to about 1.2 oz total weight.
I've got the Spot 325 and found it was perfect for me during my AT Section Hike in March 2019. I'm still using it with the same batteries around my house.
Looking for headlamp reviews since mine is pretty much done for and need to replace it. And what do I find? a Miranda video while MiTW is on hiatus. Not disappointed. :)
To be honest I am not pleased with spot325. I have it for two years now. First, to cycle through the light intensity takes ages. And it's inoperable with thicker gloves as on/off button is somewhere deep inside.
I'm sorry but the best headlamp at REI is 500 lumens and rechargeable. Look in the Fenix HM 50R, hands down the best headlamp I've used, petzel and black diamond don't come near the quality and bang for your buck. 60$ out the door
The actik core sucks if it gets wet it will never run again. Dropped the headlamp in the lake and immediately retrieved it in 6inches of water. The core never worked again. Not worth the $$$ in my opinion.
Haha, REI be amateurs, these are junk in comparison to Olight, Klarus, Nitecore, Thrunight, Acebeam ect, my headlamp has 4000lm, these peeps talking about 325 lumen LOL. my Fenix on low 200Lm gets about 45hrs in comparison to a Black Diamonds 4hrs.
I’ve had my Storm in pouring rain and accidentally submerged at least once. Still works like new...I don’t doubt that you had an issue, but REI and BD have great service...
I have a BD Spot 325 and just read a review that mentioned that it's IPX8 rating cannot be correct. I examined mine and i agree. There is no gasket on the battery compartment to prevent water ingress if submerged. I am even unsure how well it would do in a heavy rain storm. On the basis of that, today I bought an Actik Core. It only claims IPX4 and also has no gasket. However, the battery compartment has more corrugation where it joins the backplate, compared to the Spot 325. I have a bit more faith in the Actik Core than the Spot 325 for v wet weather, but only time will tell.
Is Miranda getting me through quarantine? Yes.

I just picked one of them up. All of Energizer's headlamps are on clearance at Walmart by me and the vision HD+ Focus was only $14
Good tip! Thanks 👍⛺

So black diamond breaks or doesn’t break? Hard to understand what you mean
Peter meant Black Diamond breaks.

Christopher Cornette Not sure of the weight but I agree I have the NU32 $40 water proof, rechargeable, red light etc. Best headlamp I’ve ever had.
I prefer the HC33 as both a headlamp and flashlight. I love the versatility. People should know more about them.
Is a 190lm enough for night hiking? That's my main concern.
I've bought at least 6 different Blackdiamond Headlamps, and lanterns... Many have broke or have issues. Just bought a PETZL headlamp, we shall see.

How long batteries work in medium level?
Ah, so it isn't rechargable?
@@elscruffomcscruffy8371 no, you have to change it, but it keeps well on normal mode
The Spot is good for camping and not for running?
Demonstrating headlamps in the daylight. Brilliant
Her (in the dark): This is how this headlamp works.
Me: What's she doing?
Friend: I don't know, it's too dark for me to see.
Perhaps they could demo functionality in lit conditions then switch to darkness for beam pattern and throw.
Maybe bears attack
Groundbreaking.

Great job! I just ordered the Black Diamond 325 from REI. Thanks!!
me too thanks
Informative. Picked up a different one for about $25 but it didn't perform well in the forest, will have to look into these instead.
Thank you!
How does Actik Core work after rain/snow/falling into water?
I love lamp
I just bought the black diamond one,,,I love it
Is it rechargable?

Blue light is the best color at camp if you want to avoid blinding everyone during simple conversation/ gathering/ cards etc

Got to agree, not with rei but with the comments about the nu25. Fantastic headlamp and weighs nothing.
Titan inc Survival I like my NU 32 $40 and tons of features
Courtesy tilt?
Love my aktic core
Heard the internal parts aren't protected from rain very well and kind of exposed
Yes how is the waterproffness performance bro?
Could Miranda be any more cute?
:)
black diamond does not make a list?

Please don’t scare me with a moss mustache when I’m trying to learn. Not cool.
Mosstache
simple is best.
I think that the spot 325 is actually the 350
Next we review gasoline matches...

U only talk. Why not show their effects !

These are much lighter and do not take up as much space as Fenix, Nitecore, Klarus lamps etc
Black Diamond is not water resistant at all. Ruined one after using it twice, only from sweat. Check the reviews everywhere. Avoid at all costs.
Hi Mateo, If you purchased it from REI, here is our return info: help.rei.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/47

Miranda, you talk too fast! Slow it down. We in no hurry
