I finally did it! ‪@OutsidetheLevees‬ and I headed to a spot that was absolutely loaded with giant alligator gar and unfortunately giant alligators as well. Between fighting of gators we managed to reel in a few of those bayou monsters with a little help of some rig adjustments.

Vinnie you finally got your hat good job, my grandmother use to make gar balls with the meat and put them in a brown gravy she would grind it up put s little ground pork in it so it wouldn't be dry a lot of garlic ,green onions, onions and bell peppers, and s good bit of Creole seasoning man that stuff was good , I ate it fried too good also great video tks man take care.

Glad yall figured out a way that works for yall brotha. I still use those steal leaders and a heavy wire round hook. I generally bottom fish them though no corks lol. And always always hook set a couole times. Generally let them run about 30 yards or so then jack them like i was trying to pull a car off the bottom 😂

@@PelicanBoneOutdoors yea there's multiple ways it seems lol. Never seen anyone use treble hook though well not to actually mouth hook them lol seen some try snagging a long time ago with big big trebles.

You boil the meat for a little bit , let it cool mix it with green onions, garlic,onion,1 egg , Italian bread crumbs and spice it like you want .. flatting out some patties. Heat up some canola oil , fry em up. The best bro. Use canola oil!!

Can you use a frog gig that grabs them. That goes on in of a pole. We used to do that when we was younger the edges of its sharp where it will go inside them a little bit and hold on. Compound other you got to fix it where you can tie a rope on it. Where the end can slide off the pole
