Yep, he plays strangely sometimes, I remember when he played in World's Fischer Random in the end of last year, he purposely traded the queen for 2 rooks in a losing position (I mean, the queen was much stronger than 2 rooks in that position), I think most players or even GMs wouldn't even take the trade (he could've retreated) lol He kinda plays like Hans but with more sharper plays like Mamedyarov, Anish and Rapport... He's my favourite of the rising stars (although I think he isn't that consistent sometimes)

(I can't link it directly cos youtube will bonk me). it is an exciting game between Stockfish 15 and Stockfish 10 and it involves 69 moves of the King's Gambit. the game is NOT what you would expect from an engine game. tons of tactics and plenty of opportunities for pause the video moments.

You know Gasai how chess became more popular in the US, India & Norway because of when resp Bobby Fischer, Vishy & Magnus became WCC's? It's like that for me when Wesley So became WFRCC.
Imagine how I feel that people are praising Magnus, Garry & Hikaru over Wesley So, Bobby Fischer & Hans Niemann when Magnus & Garry are cheaters and when Magnus & Hikaru are fake world champions and baseless accusers. The people are not wrong. I am educating them. The ones who are wrong are FIDE, Garry, Magnus & Hikaru.
It's like how Sergey Karjakin is Crimean and pro-Putin. Is that a coincidence? (See 'ugmopp' which is ID of a post by Martin Sornes, a Norwegian chess24 employee or something.) Or, like, would you be surprised if a Japanese person were a 'weeb'?
But it's not largely about nationality.
1 - Wesley So isn't even Philippine anymore.
2 - I don't even speak Philippine.
3 - I don't say Bong Villamayor, Daniel Quizon or Janelle Frayna are better or more talented than Magnus.
4 - If it were Nepo instead of Wesley So, then I'd say Nepo rules, and Magnus sucks.

(I can't link it directly cos youtube will bonk me). it is an exciting game between Stockfish 15 and Stockfish 10 and it involves 69 moves of the King's Gambit. the game is NOT what you would expect from an engine game. tons of tactics and plenty of opportunities for pause the video moments.
