It's a fantastic course, and I've been lucky enough to play it as a member's guest on a few occasions! The history is incredible, and the members have always made me feel very welcome.
We can all relate to you Matt...the difference between greatness and mediocre is often a few inches here or there. You are not mediocre, however, and the game is coming along nicely. Thanks for this video, it was an amazing course. I hope to get across the Atlantic with my clubs one day.
Prestwick remains one of my favorite courses. Such a fantastic bit of tradition, everyone was really nice, and the caddies made the experience epic. I'll be back next year, and a trip to Ayr for dinner at the Drunken Coo and a round at Prestwick are on the agenda. If you can get to Prestwick, skip whatever else you have to skip to do it. Absolutely worth it. I can only hope that Carter sneaks in while I'm chipping onto the 4th green. ;-)
Really is the most beautiful course you could ever see. Never actually played it but my old Granny lived just down the road and we used to walk up past it along the shore,
What a fantastic course and club! Played it 20 ish years ago, light rain, but the wind.... 26 m/s... I really dont care about the score, the wind was so bad it was funny! Hope to be back one day.....
There’s a pub/ restaurant on the Main Street in Prestwick with a plaque marking where the Golf society sat and arranged the first Open Championship. The rest is history 🙏👍
Mate the Negative Self Talk doesnt seem to be working. I have watched you for some time now and I can Honestly say ever since this has started the game has been a bit off you will get it back you look very Close to having some of the best Golf coming soon Team Fryer lets Gooo
Taking a caddy at Prestwick will certainly enhance your day. There are some unusual lines from the tees and a couple of blind shots. Basic fee is £65 plus gratuity. Highly recommended. Thanks For watching. David Fleming
Just think you get caught up in your score, Fryer. Lose track of the process. That said, you struck the ball well overall. A few dodgy chip shots hurt you. Great course!
Great history, but too many tourists for me. That’s good for the club and Scottish golf in general, but doesn’t float my boat. We have enough golf courses that provide a less hectic welcome.
He really doesn’t have the attitude to be a good player. He would be unbelievably miserable to play with. Plenty of those shots were very good, yet he was huffing and puffing like a child. It’s so nauseating.
Love the fact Matt has put at the start of the video that it’s 6908 yards and then uses fake yardages on the holes, as if he’s playing off the back tees. The 7th is not 484 yards off the tee you played off, as is the case on loads more of the holes. At least be up front with people watching, Matthew.
Looks like some of the old mental attitude Matt. Too hard on yourself and down too quick from an unlucky break. More positive please then we see the old Matt’s confidence/arrogance 😊
Dave the pro from Prestwick is a very good "extra". You want to get him on some more vids......

That was a nice photo bomb by Mr. Carter on the 4th!

You didn't tell us we were getting a Carter cameo in this one!

Mr Carter making a cameo appearance on the 4th Hole lol.
I just saw that too. What's he up to?
Vagabonds 😂😂
Matt you're my hero 😍
Interesting comment from the host professional, “the roughs generous at the moment” one description 😂😂
Well played mate!
Wonderful, Matthew! You haven´t popped up in my recommended for a while...
Played it as a leaving present when I left HMS Gannet RNAS Prestwick, what a pleasure.
Great video - thanks Matt. We need a Dan Grieve video 👍🏼😀
Fantastic stuff thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
One rotation of the ball makes a big difference.
Golf Balls have a diameter of 1.68” (42.67 mm) and circumference of 5.28” (134.05 mm).
That was Andy Carter!
If you are still in the area, you should try Colin Montgomery designed championship course 20mins from prestwick, Rowallan Castle Golf Club.
Bloody old Carter creeping around in the background. Did you allow him a hit?
Having someone to play with I think helps you
You would have been 5 under if the wedges were working still great play
Carter shows up and your short game goes to the crapper…coincidence?
I blame the white trousers for the under performance of the wedges. Too much glare😅. Great watch
Hard luck Matt it looked tough out there, I would of loved to be 4 over, guess not you though
Watched the first hole, I predict a +2
Go for a lesson with Dan Grieves, that would be good viewing
Great video, the pro was an absolute class act⛳️
He’s a proper pro - great attitude.

Hi Matt, about what you talk about...how much is a caddie when playing at this courses?
Taking a caddy at Prestwick will certainly enhance your day. There are some unusual lines from the tees and a couple of blind shots. Basic fee is £65 plus gratuity. Highly recommended. Thanks For watching. David Fleming
Wedge lesson? I believe I’d turn to Adrian Fryer. 😉
Take away the fact that you chipped like a 20 hdcp and was still able to keep the score respectable. Tomorrow is another day. 😊😊👍👍
Good point

Very true!
Head down to Woburn for a lesson with Dan Grieve?
Your playing companions driver hardly makes a sound at impact. Can you tell us what driver he played?
@titleist TSR3 driver. Brand new in the bag and love it. Worth a try. David Fleming PGA

Go see Dan Grieve, best short game coach!
Great history, but too many tourists for me. That’s good for the club and Scottish golf in general, but doesn’t float my boat. We have enough golf courses that provide a less hectic welcome.
Did I spot Andy Carter making a surprise appearance?
What you call a bad shot looks pretty good to me 😂

Where is Scottish Carter?

Matt thinks he carries 260 with a 5W 😂😂😂😂
First!

Some of the shot selections and club choices were truly awful here, more so given the wind.
