    Wow 🤩 these pansies and violets are stunning! Just beautiful colours ❤️
    I find that it is quite hard to press them, especially the big ones.

    Great ideas. Can you dry them outside, or in the oven? Don't like to utilize the microwave.

    How long does it take after you dried the flowers in the microwave until they sear ( turn to the brown).

    • @HuckleberryHA
      @HuckleberryHA  5 лет назад +2

      Hi Coco,
      It depends on how much sunlight they are exposed to. It won't take very long if they are in direct sunlight but I have had some that I placed onto book marks and they have retained color for a few years now. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching and commenting.

    Thank you for sharing this with us. I love violas and pansies and dry mine but loose some of the color. I will try this this fall. Each one of your plants are so gorgeous, I have never seen the ruffled ones but they are stunning. Each one was my favorite until you showed the next one.:)

    • @HuckleberryHA
      @HuckleberryHA  9 лет назад

      +Lottie Faith I'm glad you took a look at the video and I hope it helps you get your violas and pansies dried the way that you want them to be. Are't those ruffle ones something? I had never seen them until last year and now I'll be looking for them every spring. It's so different to me that you say "plant them in fall" but it speaks to our ability to communicate with so many wonderful people from all over the world. Very cool. Truth is you could plant them in the fall here too as they are a cold weather crop but no one ever sells or grows them for the fall here. Thanks so much for all your support.
      God Bless

    I have found that flowers i pressed a year ago have totally lost their colour now 😥

    • @HuckleberryHA
      @HuckleberryHA  5 лет назад

      Hi Lyndsey Anne,
      Yes, they do fade very easily. I keep mine in books, journals, or drawers. They fade much more slowly if kept away from sunlight. The ones that I sealed in book marks a few years ago have surprisingly retained much color. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment.

    2 suggestions now that I have tried this. My microwave has a glass turntable so a square tile would not press them flat. I used the bottom of a glass pie plate & then had a 2nd one on top for weight. Also don't use your favorite book to dry in unless you put wax paper on both sides of the copy paper. The center of a couple of the bigger flowers stained my book and I had 2 sheets of copy paper on each side. Otherwise all went well & flowers looks great!

    • @HuckleberryHA
      @HuckleberryHA  8 лет назад

      Hi Cheryl,
      Yes, you are right about the wax paper. I should have suggested that in the video. I do use books that I am not worried about. The plate is a great idea. I'm so glad that it worked well for you. Maybe you will make a video of projects that you do with your pansies and let me know to watch for them if you do so. Thank you so much for watching, commenting, and sharing your great ideas.
      God Bless

    As a scientist, I do not recommend using a tile do weigh it down, very toxic fumes can result. I would use a microwave safe glass casserole dish if you need to microwave. Otherwise I'm a book press pansy girl here. Please be safe.
