The place where you have dim sum is a very old area. Most of the buildings are more than 50 years. ( I know buildings in Europe are even older and look good😂 but Hong Kong is very humid which makes it look poor).
To be honest, it's hard to renew all the buildings in a short time, because there is the heart of the city, and the price for acquisition is extremely high. The developers would prefer to choose locations outside the urban area, and you will find plenty of fancy residential buildings there.

Omg…. so many details in this video are so wrong about Hong Kong.
Tea is a must for dim sum place. It is part of the traditional culture
The bus doesn’t stop because you need to find the queue marking on the pavement for that particular bus route
The buildings are old but not all buildings in Hong Kong look like that way. You should go to the fancier areas. You were in an old neighbourhood. Hong Kong rarely has earthquake so you don’t have to worry about that.
It is the Victoria harbour not a river.

Talking about housing, haha... those people with expensive cars don't live in these old buildings. The area where you had lunch is just an area for food/daily shoppings (not a residential area for mid-upper class people😅). Modern apartments all come with luxury clubhouses and swimming pools. A very big contrast to what you saw.

Even the appartments in those "dirty and old" buildings takes at least 2 million HK dollars (over a quarter million US Dollars). for like 150-200 square feet.
In fact, it is almost impossible to find an appartment that costs less than 2 million HK dollars in this city, not even a tiny and dingy one. Vehicles in HK is just a fraction of cost of the real estates.
Landlords/home owners in HK are super rich.

Welcome to HK, the video is pretty good but, wish vlogers like you do a bit more homework before & while you are in any country. It is a sea harbour between HK Island & Kowloon, its not a river. I guess you have old part/new parts, rich areas/ poorer area like anywhere in the world, don't look so shocked, I'm sure you have the same where you came from. K11 is a hotel/commercial bldg, the museum is in another bldg behind it. Anyway glad you had a good time.

You need to order a tea, because well, it's called "tea-drinking" (yum cha) for a reason. The original dim sum is a side snack to accompany the tea. Dim sum without Chinese tea would be akin to McVitie's without English tea: it would be soulless and bland.

10:39This is because in cities controlled by capitalist tycoons, people do not have the money or planning to renovate their old houses because everything based on houses, such as land, rent, and labor costs, is very expensive, and they are not subject to government planning!! People have to stay in this place or move out to cheaper places, such as Shenzhen or other cities in Guangdong Province, when buildings become old. Many Hong Kong public officials choose to move to Guangdong Province after retirement!

The old buliding you see in the city town cost more than 3 million. most poor people all living in the public housing but have better envoirment... vistoria harbour is a sea, not river. do not travel HK during the summer time, too hot for walking around. you seems not planning well before you travel.

Your title is not scary enough. It should read: "Hong Kong is collapsing under Chinese rule." 🤣Hong Kong has been colonized by Britain for 100 years, and China has never invaded other countries. The Qing Dynasty also lost a lot of land to Russia, and was invaded by Japan during World War II. Over the past 100 years, Hong Kong has gained huge wealth from the British. What's damning is that as long as the BBC has news about China, it's always negative. Portraying China as evil communism, a country that threatens the world.😂
