That spicy Cunning Wish actually sees Legacy play in at least Sneak and Show :). I’ve heard about Psychatog but never realized he had a whole deck built to use him as a win con. Pretty interesting, classic control deck.
Yeah, this was the most popular deck when I first got into the game. Thankfully, no one played this thing! I don't know anything about Legacy but my LGS just announced that they are going to start hosting "proxy legacy" tournaments so maybe I'll give it a try.
Affinity for MTG That's cool! The club I go to during the school year does proxies, so a few people who are into Legacy do that. I didn't develop an interest until recently thanks to the channel PleasantKenobi. The decks that intrigue me most are mostly crazy combo decks
I remember, that Kai Budde played this deck before on german MtG-tournaments in 2002. And he created a Typ 1-deck ( old vintage format) known as Tog-deck. The version were much faster with Black Lotus, Sol Ring............... The U/G Madness-deck was also very popular at this time in Type 2/ Standard and Type 1/ Vintage and Extended-format. There were a big diversity of Madness-decks. Budget -versions with mostly cards from the old Odyssey- and Torment- theme decks and higher priced versions with Call of the Herd, an expensive card in 2001 & 2002. Tog decks were also very cheap at this time in Standard. Only Upheaval costed more. All other cards were also content in preconstructed theme decks. A great time of two interesting decks .
Yeah, the best thing about Odyssey-era standard was that the decks were built around commons/uncommons, so it was very affordable. One of my friends had the UG Madness deck and it was very powerful considering how cheap it was. :)
Yeah, definitely. But it's kind of funny that they actually did that with the art. They even commissioned the same artist who did the original Psychatog art!
An interesting look into a piece of Magic’s history. I’ve always heard Psychatog talked about with fondness - it’s nice to finally understand why.
If someone talked about it with fondness, run for your life! They clearly revel in human misery! :P
Dr teeth will always be king
This is my first ever deck. I remembered I had the extended version with even more broken cards.
Nice!

nice video, Cunning Wish (at 6:31) also allowed you get exiled cards back iirc, because the exile (RFG) didnt count as a game zone back then.
I remembered pulling my first Psychatog card and at that time not so much of a combo, Necro decks are at large, how fast time flies 🤓

My favorite deck of all time
Beautiful video
Thanks!
there was a version called uzi with upheaval and zombie infastation
Nightscape Familiar actually made the combo cost 2 less since it reduces the price of both halves of the combo.
Well done deck tech
Thanks! I'm hoping to make my way through EVERY World Champion deck. :)
Very fun deck
playing a mirror was just the worst experience
Shock sucks against Psychatog. Only need to discard a card to save him.
