You are an amazing multitalented god like human! Your music has been a huge part of my life ! I am a 60 year old man and if I hear any of your music wherever I am it brings me back to a time in my life that I can never seem to find my way back to! Thank you so much for all youve done and for being such a gift of talent to the rest of the world!
Billy is a phenomenal song writer and performer. I saw him and his band live in 1983 at the Worcester Ma. Centrum. The concert was excellent, and I was so thrilled to see him live. Def Leppard opened the show and were fabulous as well. I'm from Framingham MA, just a couple of towns over from Wellesley where Billy grew up and went to school. I'm a big fan and very proud that he is a Massachusetts native!
Billy Squier is my all time favorite musician. The dude is musically gifted, in my opinion. He's my Rock and Roll hero and champion. Thank you so much for this upload! ❤🔥🎧😎
@@intertubicularYou really think so? I'm not being a dick I'm genuinely interested. I do like some of his stuff such as Don't Say You Love Me and Everybody Wants You but not enough to listen to regularly. And I LOATHE The Stroke. The whole nonsense about his ill fated video for Rock Me Tonite never bothered me. Who cares? It's a video, the song was solid. But try as i might i simply can not get into his music. I love most music from Bobby Darrin to Kurt Cobain to the Beatles to Van Halen to Iron Maiden to more recent stuff like White Reaper and all the emo/screamo from the early 2000s to now. I hate hip hop or whatever it's called sad I find it unlistenable. So what drew you to BS?
Billy is a quality man. I feel like he represents us introverts very well. He shows that you can be introverted by nature but also a world class rock star. I enjoyed his insights and hope that he continues touring. I would love to see him.
I'm not sure I would limit it to just introverts. He has been a staple in my life for so many decades. I'm hope he knows how much his supposed "too sensitive songs" actually mean to so many. I can't help but want to ask him how he was able to so clearly articulate in ' Nobody knows '. So many influential songs ...
Absolutely love this extremely talented man. Way under rated & deserved to be in the Rock&Hall Of Fame many decades ago. He is my absolute crush since I first heard him on the radio. I was 16. 55 now & hes just as cool as way back when. I never knew what happened to him. Never heard anything negative about him. Love you Billy💋
Mr. Squire, never you are a rock god!! So under rated by the media that should be ashamed!! Top of my list and as you grow you will always be loved and appreciated!! God bless your success!!
Billy is a World Class Rocker. So glad I was born in the 1960's and grew up in the 1970's and 1980's The absolute pinnacle of many, many generes of the greatest music on earth!! Rock on Billy, and no more pink, ripped t-shirts in videos!! Just kidding, loved that song!!
Don't say no was the only record that I've owned that i loved and still love every song on it... I can't say that about any other record. Love Billy Squire.
Billy would probably say he isn't a rock star, he's a musician. It's now 2023 and he has just created new music! I agree about the HOF, i sense he might not care one way or another. I love his POV. Big fan most of my life.
Lori Reece I feel he should not have taken it to heart, he should've taking it in stride and wrote even better songs and came back in a few years. A lot of bands from the 80s just gave up when they were still creatively at their peak just fearing change and worrying about acceptance.
Introverts find themselves energized most by non-human contact. Immersion in Mother Nature is my church-it revitalizes me. But ask my friends and they are floored when I describe myself as one. Billy personifies that same persona- he can turn it on for the public and jam with friends but downtime is vital to recharge the batteries for the next gig.
So true. Many who work with the public in any form are huge introverts in their private life. Hub calls me a hermit, that's OK with me, I am! It's a must to be able to turn on the "act" when inundated with the public. I'm still one, even though retired.
As a 16yo in 1982, i seen him in concert in OKC, My first concert. Then again in Tulsa in 1983, absolutely amazing. But after the the fateful Rock Me video that crashed his career, he's still one of the most talented entertainers ever to grace any stage.
Billy, I met you several years ago at The Ridgefield Playhouse in Connecticut. I hope you return sometime soon. I gave you a standing ovation! (and you probably won't see this.)
i'm really really glad that I got to see Billy, and Jeff Golub in concert, front row, and center, on the floor. back then you could touch the stage, AND their feet. this was 1983/1984 . what a show! the only bad thing was having to wait, because it was postponed a few months into the winter, because Billy had his collar bone broken by Jeff during a video shoot. it was an accident of course. but I crashed my new car into another on the 'black ice' on my way there, and I couldn't fully enjoy the concert. I was only 20 yrs. old.
That video didnt crash his career. Music changed dramatically in a very short time and that arena rock went out QUICK. Looking back on the video, it is actually fun to watch, great moves !!
Yes, I do know better than Billy. He is hung up on that when the answer is obvious. If he wrote more good songs that the music buyers wanted, that video would be forgotten. That did not happen, so his stock value dropped and never returned. He was unable to write commercially viable music as tastes & style changed
I agree that video is typical 80s. Most videos of that decade had an element of cringe and I just watched the video recently and still have the same thoughts it was just the times.
@@scottlebrun6782 Not true - I was a teenager hard rock/metal fan in the 80's, and by 1984, the biggest artists were Michael Jackson, Madonna, Duran Duran, and other such pop and new wave artists, and most "arena rock" bands at the time (Journey, Foreigner, Pat Benatar, etc) began getting more and more pop and keyboard-oriented. The mid-80's were a horrible time for rock music - grunge (and also bands like Guns 'N' Roses a few years prior) actually brought guitars back to mainstream rock.

I hope he does go back and recapture that vibe - it was epic.
I get Billy because of our age. We want to live in the world that we thought it would be -- not what it's become...

"The Big Beat", from his 1980 album The Tale of the Tape. One of THE most sampled drum beats of all time, especially on a lot of Hip Hop records. As heard on:
