Hi son! Well if anyone can do this , it's you both! Exciting journey on the bus I see! And Tias new cozy friend , how sweet of you to offer that friendship 😊 ! Sorry she got sick. Cheveyo , as always I'm so proud of you in every way! Life is all about not what people do or say but rather how WE choose to respond! Keep the possitive energy flowing! Love you and miss you !
After Phnom Penh you must visit Kep and Kampot for the pepper farms, Bokor Mountain and Kep's best Crab Market. Also don't miss the fabulous Koh Rong islands.
Hello Tia & Cheveyo. I'm subscribed your channel in the first Thailand vlog. Yesterday I just watched all the videos on your channel. The 4 months that you guys have been here in Thailand is so fast. I'm so glad you guys traveled safely to Cambodia. I really hope Cambodians will give you a warm welcome. Travel safely.😘
Half Thai half Irish here. Fuckin love Cambo. Has that sense of lawlessness that Thailand doesn't have. A real 'do what you will' vibe. It doesn't suit everyone. Also, Phnom Penh now is still more chaotic than Bangkok was 30 years ago. Bangkok always had an internationally-known feeling to it, we didn't go through the same tragedy and hardship that the Khmer people went through. I hope things get better for the Khmer, but at the same time I hope they retain that sense of wild. Siem Reap is quite small, fairly peaceful but still has that sense of lawlessness. Phnom Penh, as well as the rest of Cambo, are having the special aspect slowly evaporate as a result of the Chinese. Still, Cambo really is the last of a dying South-East Asia. I recommend you visit the Dirty Old Sailor pub. It's my favourite. Enjoy!
4 weeks late replying to this. Just want to say you are a great writer, you really described the vibe of Phnom Penh is a perfect, stylish way. Anyways, thanks for that! Have a great day.
When I was there in 2001 I stayed lakeside on a floating guesthouse for $1 a night!! It was awesome but the lake was quite polluted. There was a little mom and daughter run restaurant nearby and they were the sweetest people ever. I loved the raw craziness of Phnom Penh. Happy Travels
Boeung Kak lake has been filled for more than 10 years now. The area is now called Phnom Penh City Center and has some of the most luxurious apartment buildings and one of the best international schools in the capital. For example, please google One Park and Singapore Cambodia International Academy.
What a journey and so please you made it safely! Thx for sharing another great vlog - it’s so good that I feel the challenges you’ve been through. Have lots of fun exploring and look after one another! Can’t wait for the next one 😀
You guys give off a positive vibe even when things don't go to plan, and let's face it they rarely do in Cambodia lol, will enjoy the rest of your videos!
Hey Tia & Cheveyo, always stay at the middle of the bus. You won't get as much motion sickness there (or someone with car sick like that lady). Especially if you ride in Cambodia and Vietnam cause the road is like 2-3 lanes wide so 200-300km (which normally would take like 2-3 hours ride) gonna take you 5-6 hours. It is not fun at all and I did that and it really drains me.
I experienced a bumpy ride same as yours when I went to Hua Hin years ago. The driver that day was also very confident in his driving skill (not sure he is the same guy who drove your bus hahaha). Anyway, glad you made it to Phnom Pehn. Can't wait for your next video. Stay safe :)
Well I suppose both drivers did their job and got us to the places we were going. It’s pretty… entertaining when you’re just hanging on for the ride though 😂
Hi Tia and Cheveyo, I am really sorry to hear that your trip from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh was not smooth. I am afraid that your first impressions of Phnom Penh are not inaccurate. It is a chaotic place. People do not follow road rules. So, please be careful. Btw, I admire your dedication. You always seem to do your work around midnight and always upload a new vlog every second day, in spite of often slow Internet and the fatigue at the end of each day. You find time to respond to so many comments. I am absolutely sure that your past employers had always tried to talk you out of resigning. Being such positive and hard-working people, you will do well, whatever you do. In just a few months, you have gathered quite a following. Your vlogs are about things that many of us can relate to and your personality and the chemistry between you two just shine through. Please look after yourselves! btw, the foodcourt you went to (Sorya Mall in the centre of the city, next to the Central Market) is far from being good. If you are spending a few days in Phnom Penh, try the food court at Aeon Mall 1 (reasonable quality and variety and prices)
You have us beaming! What an incredibly nice comment. After a few days here, we've noticed you are definitely right. This is a very chaotic city! Thank you for the tip about Aeon Mall, we'll definitely check it out (and try to film it). Cheers!
Hey we're getting to some of these comments really, really late. We partially answered your question in some of the videos that came after this one, I'll respond properly. There's definitely not as much street food as in Thailand. It's still there but not to the same level. In Thailand you don't even have to look for it, I think street food is a strongly part of the national identity in Thailand than it is in Cambodia.
I'm a new subscriber to your channel and actually live in Phnom Penh, which is the reason I started watching your videos when one showed up as a recommended watch. A couple of things, for all your readers if possible install the GRAB or PASSAPP app on your phone; it will save you haggling and being overcharged for TukTuks getting around the City. Also, be careful of bag and phone snatchers, as it is worse now with Covid and some are getting desperate. For example just don't leave your bags on TukTuks where they can be easily grabbed. Sitting down on the Riverside at night time you also need to be careful as well, put any bags by your feet when sitting down or hold them. Been here for 4.5 years myself so know the situation. Have a great time.
Hey Stephen, thanks for the useful tips! Grab is the first app we downloaded after arriving in Phnom Penh. It's wild how different the tuktuk prices are on Grab compared to in-person. Will definitely be mindful of our belonging and surroundings.
I was curious about the bus ride between SR AND PP. Sounds a bit rough. Still have done a similar but shorter trip in Bali so should be ok. Great and informative video. Thank you
those mini busses are actually pretty big , they usually are the size of a mitsubishi l300 the "foodmodels" made me think of the time i ordered a steak in a phillipine shopping mall wat i figured was the foodmodel got taken of the shelve the garnish was taken off and the meat got put in the microwave ,,,,, the thing must have been sitting up there since the start of the day , i think the sole of a shoe was more tender asia is verry different with these kind of things
Hi Tia and Cheveyo! Thanks for covering the bus ride between Siem Reap and Phnom Penh .... itsr eally useful to know and usually never covered. There are probably only 2 safe choices for bus travel in Cambodia ... Giant Ibis for big buses and Larryta (which i think you took) for mini buses. I know the minibus drivers drive at pretty crazy speeds. So you may want to try the large Giant Ibis buses for a few dollars more per ticket. Other than Ibis and Larryta very other bus alternative is pretty dreadful ... and some routes are really especially from the Poipet to Siem Reap for example or along the coast. Hope you travel safe and keep smiling. The smiles are why i keep coming back to your vlogs!
🙌 well don. You 2 i personally had going crazy/ TING-TONG and nice too see the way you hold that energy to create a good experience and made the best out of it. I have only 🙌 & ♥️ Too give any send your way 👍 Watching from Denmark 🇩🇰
One of the place you guys must go check out is the central market, I think there’s a lot of cool things to see and also a lot of good foods. Enjoy you guys! 👍
I love coming home from work to update vids the street view reminds me of kata with some patong throw in…..interesting!! Girl in yellow did u tell her to “subscribe” haha Owe and i love how the video was already filming in the room for u to go inside hahahaha
Thanks when I go I will get a plane I've done a long bus trip in the Phillipines it broke me I was crying and sick 30 hrs on a bus 🚌 never again everything that could go wrong did Manila to tacloban city leyte !
Hahaha most Aircon we found in Phon Penh didn't work haha we called the guy to change our room but he gave us a Fan Instead after like an Hour inspection it was Funny 🤣🤣🤣 We are In Siem Reap now and feels Much Better. We didn't like Phnom Penh at all.
Ah man what a disappointing resolution 😅 At the end of the day, air conditioning is just one more luxury… but it’s no fun looking at a broken AC unit when you’re sweating 😂
I hate riding those transit vans. It's definitely not for the weak stomach. The last one I rode about 6 years back, the driver got a ticket for speeding. I avoid them now because my heart can't take it...lol
Taking a van isn't the best choice, but you learn from your experience. Hope Phnom Penh is looking after you. Plenty of stuff to do. Check my Facebook group Cambodia Nomad Tips. You'll see lots of photos of cool places to visit. Take care 💗
I was there once on a 1-day business trip. I was told that soy source there was so good that my colleague bought a pack of them back to Thailand.😊 Talking about chaotic. I was trying to catch a flight back on a raining day. It was way more choatic than I could imagine.. I heard car horn all the way to the airport. 😆 Stay safe!

The legroom makes me cry 😅 y’all handled that with grace.
I traveled SR to PP too before but decided on a big bus.
I'm loving the look of Cambodia. It's been bumped higher on our list of places to visit. 😀😀
Try not to miss Kampot and Kep. And some of the islands are stunning.
Thank you for the tip! Kampot looks interesting 🙂
Have a good trip, and take a good care with love from Thailand.

Love and miss you too, mom 😊
Very positive attitudes!
Thanks for the videos. Really enjoying your journey. All the mistakes and hurdles are real.
Thanks for sharing, love your fun videos!
After Phnom Penh you must visit Kep and Kampot for the pepper farms, Bokor Mountain and Kep's best Crab Market. Also don't miss the fabulous Koh Rong islands.
Tia! Great compromise with the table size. You are such a great woman for my Son! I love you lady! Hope your back is doing much better?!
The back is a lot better, thank you for asking 😊

$1 a night is incredible! And in a floating guesthouse no less!
Let compare food , city life , people , Tour etc. between Thailand and Cambodia.
Indeed. They are both quite different, it’s difficult to compare 🙂
What a journey and so please you made it safely! Thx for sharing another great vlog - it’s so good that I feel the challenges you’ve been through. Have lots of fun exploring and look after one another! Can’t wait for the next one 😀
I am followed you along from Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Travel Thursday, Travel Thursday, Tia and Chev, going to Phnom Penh!!🚌💨💨💨💨💨👀

Please take a good care to yourself Cambodia is dangerous street and people. Wish you have a safe trips every where you go. Good luck.🍀
6 hour bus ride?! Wow 😮
Ah well, it was a fun experience 🙂
do not stop on your walk across the street, steady pace, they'll go around you. Good practice for VN :D REAL chaos
This is excellent advice. We've watched some videos of people simply crossing the street in Vietnam, and it looks intense to say the least.

Can you show us how you pack and what to bring for your long trip .
Hey there! We did this in the Bangkok Q&A video 🙂 Hope that helps!
Cambodia 🇰🇭 is different from another country. Enjoy your trip and stay safe.
You should find an affordable accommodation near Bassac Lane (St 308). It’s a trendy place in Phnom Penh now. Lots of cool eateries
Thank you for the tip! 😊
really want to go cambodia sooon !!
Get ready it's pure madness Phnom Penh great city try and visit the old capital as well . Hope you enjoy it and remember it's not Thailand
LUV U GUYS!~ I was there on the same route(?) without aspalt covering road.... Twelve years ago!~~ Amusing..!!!~~~
Whoa! That must've been a wild trip indeed!
I was curious about the bus ride between SR AND PP. Sounds a bit rough. Still have done a similar but shorter trip in Bali so should be ok. Great and informative video. Thank you
It wasn’t so bad. The traffic actually isn’t as bad as Bali either so you should be good 🙂
@@OnePackWanderers Thanks, that's good to know.
Please take good care of yourself
I feel you miss motorbikes in Thailand. lol
We definitely do. It's our favorite way to get around.
Hope you guys enjoy it here in Phnom Penh! Welcome to Cambodia 🇰🇭💕
Thank you! 😊🙏🏻
Just back from Siem Reap 1 hour ago, surf RUclips video and see your vlog, nice ♥️
Small world! Did you take the bus?
@@OnePackWanderers yes, I took Mey Hong bus.

Huge tip KFK is amazing, best sweet and sour chicken in the world.
Is KFK the full name? We're not seeing it on Google 😅 Thanks for the tip!
great videos! wow
🙌 well don. You 2
i personally had going crazy/ TING-TONG and nice too see the way you hold that energy to create a good experience and made the best out of it. I have only 🙌 & ♥️ Too give any send your way 👍
Watching from Denmark 🇩🇰
6:25 Is he a stray dog?? OMG wanna adopt this adorable creature.
He did seem to be a stray! He had the zoomies and was running all over the place 😂
One of the place you guys must go check out is the central market, I think there’s a lot of cool things to see and also a lot of good foods. Enjoy you guys! 👍
Thanks for the tip! We went to Central Market the next day 🙂
If you have a chance, rent a motorbike in PP and go to Skuon to see the spider market.. It's 50 miles away from PP and it worth it ;)
lordy- that looks really tough. i would last 2 mins max.
We mostly just felt bad for the girl sitting next to us! For us it was cramped, but she looked downright miserable 😕
I love coming home from work to update vids the street view reminds me of kata with some patong throw in…..interesting!!
Girl in yellow did u tell her to “subscribe” haha
Owe and i love how the video was already filming in the room for u to go inside hahahaha
We've been trying to experiment with different camera angles, sorry if that one was cheesy 😂😂
Far from cheesy very well done guys
ROAD TO 20K SUBSCRIBERS!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Don’t skip ads so they could travel moreeee 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Hahaha we're really late replying to this, but thank you so much this is a really nice comment 😊
Haha, Sorya is not the best place to get food in PP... Awesome video tho!
Hotel name and address please, very much appreciated.
Watching from New Zealand.
Oh that minibus seems like an experience 😂
The driver was really channelling his inner F1 driver 😂
Thanks when I go I will get a plane I've done a long bus trip in the Phillipines it broke me I was crying and sick 30 hrs on a bus 🚌 never again everything that could go wrong did Manila to tacloban city leyte !
30 hours... WOW. And in a country as relatively small as the Philippines... that must've been miserable. Really puts our short ride into perspective.
សូមស្វាគមន៍ពីកម្ពុជា❤🙏🏼❤

The table was distanced because covid 19 I think, it’s not usually like that tho
9 dollars for lunch in Cambodia? Isn’t that a little expensive?😳
It definitely is. If that’s where the bus stops, though, there isn’t much choice 😂
I Love kep in cambodia
watching your vlogs for a few months... just realize that Tia , somehow, makes me think of Sally Fields. I am a turtle anyway.
I can see the resemblance, for sure 🙂 Love the username 😂
I hate riding those transit vans. It's definitely not for the weak stomach. The last one I rode about 6 years back, the driver got a ticket for speeding. I avoid them now because my heart can't take it...lol
The pricing for them is unbeatable but yea, driver getting a speeding ticket sums it up pretty well 😂 We felt so bad for the girl sitting next to us.
I was scared when you held your phone/camera out to film on the streets. Stay alert for snatchers!
One of us is always watching out when the other films 🙂 Thank you for the warning!
Taking a van isn't the best choice, but you learn from your experience. Hope Phnom Penh is looking after you. Plenty of stuff to do. Check my Facebook group Cambodia Nomad Tips. You'll see lots of photos of cool places to visit. Take care 💗
It sure beats spending more on a VIP bus or private taxi though 😂
How much did you pay for tuktuk? Can I pay in cash to get a bus ticket or do I have to book it in advance?
take the van, its 11 DOllar and much much better then the bus
I think we did technically take the van, actually. It was a Ford Transit.
Anyway I like u guys both
😊🙏🏼
The table is not weird , it's covid distance
It's impressive they put longer tables in for that. Everywhere else we went just had little plastic dividers up
I was there once on a 1-day business trip. I was told that soy source there was so good that my colleague bought a pack of them back to Thailand.😊
Talking about chaotic. I was trying to catch a flight back on a raining day. It was way more choatic than I could imagine.. I heard car horn all the way to the airport. 😆

That bus ride don't look fun! Maybe private driver next time?
We looked into that and it would’ve cost 3.5x times as much as the bus. Definitely worth it if you don’t mind paying extra, though!
Hi
แจ๋ว
👍👍👍👍👍
Welcome to Cambodia 🇰🇭 The Kingdom of wonder.
i cant imagine you sitting in that tight space for 6 hrs .
Ah well, it was an experience. Not so bad at the end of the day, we mostly just felt bad for the girl sitting next to us.
Most Cambodians just drive pass another person’s vehicle if they’re too slow and if the other side of the road is optimal enough to speed through 😂
😘
Your wife is so beautiful
สวัสดีครับหนุ่มๆสาวที่กัมพูชาสนุกมั้ยครับยังติดตามดูคลิปคุณๆตลอดครับ
😃😃😃😃😃😃
Hello! It is a lot of fun. We will always have a special place in our hearts for Thailand though 😊
Cambodia is probably hotter than Thailand?
Yes it's definitely a bit hotter and more humid, at least where we went.
Welcome to this so-called city that time has forgotten. Phnom Penh is always Phnom Penh or maybe even worst these days due to this prime minister is a communist, totalitarian, human right abuser, and only has 4th grade education leader Hun Sen. No intra-fracture built by his government, lawless country, and no democracy. Dissidents, civil rights defenders, and outspoken individuals are all in prison now. So sad to see my birthplace run by this jungle leader and his gangsters, and rampant corruptions are everywhere and every level of government.
This is an interesting perspective. I admit, we did not know much about Cambodia's current political landscape. Many people in the comments have called Cambodia the Wild West of SEA, and that seems pretty accurate from what we saw.
Where do you live now?
Bet you guys don’t even talk to local people and that is why you seem to always ended up at bad places.
You would lose that bet 🙂
