Thank you Sr. You’re such an inspiration for me; a design student. Please, keep sharing your wisdom you have no idea the positive impact you’ve created.
Amazing video man. Just the inspiration I'm looking for. And great nod to baz luhrmann, as soon as I hear "Make Models" I knew what you were doing. Great work man.
This is a very inspiring video about design i've ever seen. Thank you for making this video, i'm a product designer student and this year is my final year. I love this video!
Hi PT I`m currently in my final year of my study. I love your videos, this one especially! It lets me remember my basic-training and it helps to see that you are still applying the same or similar methods. Keep up the great work
Thanks MrSurfallday13, I'm currently working on something that is about six months away from being finished, but when it's done I hope everyone with an interest in design will really enjoy it. Good luck in your final year. PT
these are great videos really liked the one on on innovation please keep making them im applying for industrial design and these really give me a lot to think about .thank you
Hi Kristof - there is no CAD, some images are created in Freehand (like Adobe illustrator) with colour added in Photoshop. Everything else is hand built and photographed, there are no CAD renderings.
Beautiful video. Very inspirational. I agree about the importance of making models. The product at 2:21 looks very impressive. Does it cut fruit and vegetables?
Hi Mina The product at 2:21 was designed to help my Nan cut vegetables, there is a video about it on my channel, but it wasn't a very successful design. PT
i only want to be a product designer so i can work for sanrio (my dream job) or disney. i want to design sanrio or disney products not this kind of stuff.
i really loved your video i am doing my master degree from iisc bangalore india i am interested in sport things like badminton can i go in that particular field
What if I would like to design electronic devices (In particular smartphones and computers), wouldn't I use CAD software there? And could you please tell me the difference between product design and industrial design?
Hi Jorge, these days with any project, you will end up using CAD to get your design ready for manufacture. But as a student and professional, you should not send anything to manufacture without making a model to test how it works and feels. I made the video to remind people about this as I see pieces in portfolios all the time and I can tell the student hasn't made a model, because their design wouldn't work. So I'm definitely not against CAD, I think it's brilliant, but it is only one tool and it won't tell you everything. You can also use it to help you create a model using rapid prototyping and or machining, but don't just use it to make a pretty picture to put in your portfolio. Even smart phones and computers need lots of models made to see how they feel in the hand and the pocket! There has been lots of discussion on the difference between product and industrial design, for me, they are the same thing. Hope this helps. PT
If I made a product, it would be a cheap enough PC that 65% people can get as a Christmas present. Stay tuned for the future of a nearly as if a combination of Razor, Nvidia, Asus, Beats, etc PC!!! I really hope to make gaming communities a better place without them little 10-year-olds screaming into the mic. First product designs will be recorded on SkechUp. I actually have a few more ideas than just a PC. I am thinking of also making accessories that 70% of people can get as an additional cheap thing like headphones varied to only clear sound, only clear sound and bass or only bass. Mouses as well as mics. This is my description of the work I want to attend for my future. Julian, year 8. England.
Thank you Sr.
