Thank you ! I am a mechanical engineer with passion and some trials/designs in the ID/PD direction and I really appreciate this series to explore more the process to perfect my understanding. Thank you and keep'em coming :)
You deserve a MEDAL - How amazing are you- THANK YOU SO MUCH - you have explained in 12 minutes what my engineering lectures couldn't mumble away in over an hour.
Amazing work. Why are the UK exam boards not pointing D&T teachers to great resources like this. AQA I'm talking to you in particular! You've summed up everything I'm trying to teach my current year 12/13 cohort about the design process in a well presented and clear fashion with great examples & case studies. Amazing work chap, keep adding them!
As a current industrial design student... this video, and the series as a whole, has been more informative and better organized than my entire first year of school.
The method you are describing has been a big topic in the last years, everyone called it "design thinking" and tried to apply it in all kinds of fields. By the way, thank you for sharing your experience, I am a 2nd year design student and sometimes feeling a bit lost with all the possibilities and no real "guidelines" (I study design at an art school), I'm looking forward to seeing more videos! Good channels on product design are rare on RUclips.
last year i made it into design school and i really want to thank you, because your videos were such a great inspiration and gave me so much insight into design thinking. You helped me getting to this point, thank you very much and keep up your great work!
When I started product design I was not too interested in your videos because I was beginner . But now after 2 years when I watched you r videos after being professional designer I really liked your video and content .
one thing you didn't consider in the peeler is easiness of cleaning. Narrow concave shapes makes more difficult to cleaning while convex makes it easier.
Nothing to say except that this video is a banger! Obviously you have put a lot of work into this, and the fact that you investigated a case study of peelers even though you knew it probably wasnt going to work out is amazing. This is the only video I have seen of yours but boy am I going to watch more! Keep it up man!
That's really a good video about Product Design. As a matter of fact, I got to learn from something like about innovation and how a simple brief can change the whole concept of design, from basic to unique.
Excellent thanks . Pl share like these video and modelmaking .

Thank you very much. I saw only two of your videos and i understand instantly one thing: as design student I can learn from you what, unfortunately, my courses at university doesn't teach me. I'm very happy to have discovered your channel!
Hi there, Inspiring, reminding, guiding and helpful series. BTW I have a suggestion-The audio is very soft, please see to it if it is something at the recording end. Thank You.. Keep posting, Keep doing good job.
Thank you, it's a very interesting video. I d like to start this job (since I was a child) just in this last months. To invent, product design, is something let me feel really 'free'.
I am glad that i found this video. Very much informative. what i liked the most is the way you drew your concepts on paper. I can hardly do it. My dwg skills are pathetic & when i get ideas, i get stuck at this point. I can't draw them down. Can you please suggest how to improve on that skill?
Hi Sk, firstly the only way to really improve is lots and lots of practice. But maybe you'll find it easier to quickly make your concepts first in clay or cardboard or any suitable material and then use these as a reference to then draw them. You can also draw your concepts in profile whilst you practice before attempting angled views using perspective. There are lots of drawing apps available that make it easier to draw clean lines and undo mistakes, so you might also find it easier to use a tablet etc, just so you can get your ideas down. Pt
your videos are so enlightening. so simple to understand and fun to watch. please do more videos on this series. Struggling self-taught designers like me need you guys love from india
Great insight and explanation of design fundamentals. Small triggers strongly affect outcomes. Once the parameters are accepted though, exploratory ideas get 'funnelled' into an outcome. Sometimes this is very necessary, sometimes it stifles wider exploration. On a different note, i liked the "runners" analogy. To be really good at anything becomes increasingly more difficult. Inspiring stuff, thanks for sharing. I've designed and built allsorts of stuff since childhood and each success drives me to better achievement the next time. I'm still running i guess :)
My observation over the years is most new products work no better than the one they're designed to replace; advertisers just develop a clever looking promo to make them appear exciting and interesting. Most people would just use a regular kitchen knife to do those tasks you demonstrated.
Hi product tank! thank you for this video. There's isn't any school offering industrial design where I am. Learning what I can online. Subscribed on your channel.
Great video! I recently did a short career exploration video about product design in my channel and I wish I had watch yours to add some points in my video. Keep the good content.
I'm not even a designer, and I love this so much! Big respect. :)
