Gonna finish with their much-despised Geffen albums then commercial disasters obviously caused by a fickle public. * means all or mostly previously-released.
Done with Mirrors 8/A- still rocking with little hope for band getting sober until it flopped, critics usually kind
Permanent Vacation 6.5/B Chuck Eddy said it all: “album sucked and sold”
Pump 7.5/B+ nice improvement with most loving this fluff (some holds up at least) initially
Get a Grip 7/B+ their best-seller huge for a couple years, eventually getting a lot of unwarranted hate although definitely worse than pre-1986 classics
Big Ones * hate juvenile “Deuces” & am fond of two newbies; critics generally praise disc overall
Nine Lives 7/B+ very good aside from some lesser tunes amidst experimentation-heralding inevitable decline after too many despised/hit ballads
A little south of Sanity n/a loathe selections included on Essential Aerosmith
Just push Play 6/B dismissed by most, though average with one keeper called “Jaded”
Gold aka Young Lust… * or 7/B+ summarizes this era without missing anything valuable; still hate that bad remake with rappers and of course “Janie’s Gun” on yet another shameless compilation with their best new songs in a while
Essential Aerosmith, originally released as O Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits * both new tracks are dismal or worse
Honkin' on Bobo 6.5/B mild improvement with some obscure covers plus a fine original
You gotta Move 6.5/B+ likeable dvd with many hotties in audience distracting the viewer; studio footage watchable although not exactly what diehards can stomach
Rockin’ the Joint n/a worthy live contractual obligation if critics are right
Devil's got a new Disguise… 6/B
Music from another disaster 5/B- at least bassist Mr. Hamilton finally got a fully-penned composition released
Greatest Hits (2023) * or 6/B heard it once, predictably yawning throughout.
