Just a technical query. If your back foot turns then your hips open up. Isn't this technique only used for hitting to the on side? If you want to hit over cover shouldn't you stay side on for longer and not open up your hips?
When it comes to hitting the ball over the top straight and to the leg side, you add a small amount of hip pop to the shot. You still dont want to add to much as you will just square yourself up in the shot. Hope this helps👌🏻

Yes, in general always try and stray side on as long as possible, even playing on the leg side. When going over extra you have to stay side on.💪🏻
