@@vedantus yep, same way I learned this song in 1971 from the Hot Tuna album, interesting we have some similar techniques & tricks, thanks I picked up a couple riffs.
its kinda funny, both Jorma and the Grateful Dead did covers of this song, but now I do Jorma's cover through the lens of the Grateful Dead, a real bastardization!
i start to play acoustic guitar(i bought guild d-150ce) before one year, so you understand my situation😁but this is not very difficult except some leaks you doing i think its similar whith hot tuna the way you playing and i like very much @@vedantus
It’s nice to have a lil more timing consistency than Jorma. Who is either an alien. Arrogant, bored, or beyond most of us It’s also nice to see your dining room
Well both, largely self taught and then a few years ago I started taking lessons from gratefulguitarlessons.com and that expanded me... Its easy to keep doing what you are doing and not push into new territory , so a teacher can stretch you...
Awesome thanks man😎. My dad raised me on tuna. "if you don't know Jorma you don't know Jack"😊
Hahahsa, thats a great line, hadn't heard that before, I love it
It’s the Hot Tuna arrangement, beautifully performed, quite musical, kudos to Clif. Bravo!
I just sat down and that arrived, no real performance, just jamming' and missed like 2 verses!

@@Notcorncowsorchickens Your last name inspired me to try some witticism about A Salt and Battery, but couldn't figure out how to work in the battery
@@vedantus how bout changing the theme to Old Salty?
@@Notcorncowsorchickens Nice!
Lovely! Thanks for sharing.
I love your he's gone... are you in Northern California by any chance?
@@vedantus Thank you so much. Unfortunately not. I’m in Arkansas.
Wow, love this cover!! Awesome job Cliff - your lessons and covers are inspiring!

Oh, Clif my man that brings back some good memories.
Jorma memories?
Love this! Gotta do a lesson of this too when you find time, know we’d all love to try and learn it
When I have more free time I am going to do a lot of Jorma, I love his sensibility
Nicely done. I hear the Jorma influence and that is always a good thing!
I love Jorma ... I'm old enough to have seen him a bunch
@@vedantus me, too!
Right on to this version. You ripped it up, Clif.
Thanks Steve!
Grateful 🙏
Thank you, I appreciate that.
Beautiful cover
Thanks! Do you play an instrument?

Guilds tend to have a nice basslow end
fantastic cover.. 👏👏from Brazil.
Thanks from California!
Love this!
Thanks! I miss running into you guys as much as we did, hopefully the spring will bring new rhythms!
Love this! Really well done Cliff, would love to see you play more Dead covers! Much love
Will do!
Dead ? Hot tuna covers!
@@scottklandl488 Ha! Good man!
@@scottklandl488 Jorma's key!
Nice version and tempo.
I liked the band version posted last week too. Wonderful song.
Its funny, the Dead Covers Project this year has resulted in an amazing amount of China Rider! Even one in Uktrainian...

I had that thought... "Should I film in every room?"
Totally love this. Brilliant
Unlike what I think is normal, I just sit down and record stuff I haven't prepared for and put it out there with all my warts!
I love this arrangement Clif!
Me too, I first heard Jorma doing it...
That guitar sounds so lush. Great picking mate
Yeas, I love the bass sound of a guild
Wow!! Grate version!!!
I decided against doing a traditional lead...
Is that for the Dead and Co fan?
I'm looking forward to this weekend Clif, so I see you on Saturday. Take care
Aloha from Maui
You bet

Very cool man! Thanks for sharing, Jorma ;)
😃
Very nice! Are these the chords Jorma uses - key of A? Peace, Love & Light
Yes, you can see it nice right here: ruclips.net/video/hXAWbFCGHwg/видео.html
Sounds good played in A. I'm assuming it's A lol I'm dumb with theory
It is a comfortable range. Yes, I struggle with identifying the key things are in...sometimes the key is the least played chord!
so so
The China Rider Video was really great the band sounded awesome. Were you self taught or had professional instruction.
