    We are in the process of getting our first foster placement and we believe that God is preparing this little boy for us. Throughout the whole,process we have lifted it to the Lord and truly believe that He has chosen the child that we shall have come to live with us as our family

    My adopted experience 😢 this morning before clicking this video I had the thought of asking if other adoptees wondered if their lives would have been better in their birth countries as opposed to being adopted out. Mostly ofc course with an intact family and not being abandoned or anything.
    Bracing for the ignorant comments and/or platitudes 🤦🏻‍♀️😭

    At this point, this has one dislike. Who is against adoption?

    Glory be to God our Father who created adoption. When I was younger with my first child I was 18, I ran away from home because of the pressures to have an abortion. I didn't really understand that word at the time, or what it all entailed. Something inside me thought it was wrong, like I think that means your killing a baby. Ok people I had sex, but I didn't know much because who's going to tell you that, I was hiding my sin, or so I thought. Like I wasn't suppose to be engaging in sex, all hell broke lose. Now this is 1981, so I ended up living in a maternity home, with nuns. That year out of 30 girls most gave up for adoption balling their eyes out because most were younger than I. I kept my precious baby, but life was beyond hard core. I'm a firm believer in reuniting with birth Mother's and Father's only if it's applicable for all parties involved. Have you searched for your birth parents, to understand the situation. God bless you all abundantly.

      This video is great and sends a great message, but I agree with you. That was very poor word choice.

      The point of the video is to speak about adoption. Obviously the child in the video is going to be an adopted child - especially considering both the mother (seen) and the father (well-known pastor John Piper) are white and the kid is black. Don’t be obtuse. It’s obvious she’s adopted.

      @@stueydoubleyou no, it wasn’t. And no, it wasn’t. Every word of every sentence doesn’t need to be carefully chosen for fear of some micro aggression. Don’t be so soft.

      @@justinbrown8036 you clearly have no idea what it's like to live as an ethnic minority in a largely racist society.

    The message is clear but can be diluted by statements that appear insensitive to the struggle of being an adopted person or a person that doesn't look like their family. I would encourage Mark to be more sensitive in how he uses words, you can't and should not say "you are obviously adopted". That statement can reinforce a feeling of not belonging: especially in a young girl like Talitha. The message of the video is encouraging but as an African who is often in rooms where I don't look like anyone else, the "you are obviously different from your tribe" statement is problematic. Mark Mellinger kindly refrain from this language and thoughts if you want to reach people who are like you. Maybe the Lord renew your thinking, I hope He has!

    Adoption in the New Testament is not an image or reference to coming into the family of God. We enter God's family by new birth NOT by adoption. Adoption for the believer is a future event that takes place at the resurrection Rom.8. In New Testament times and that culture, adoption was the son-placing an event and time when a father's natural son was adopted i.e. placed into a position of authority in the families affairs Galatians 4.

    • @AnHebrewChild
      @AnHebrewChild Год назад

      If we're born into God's family, why would we later be adopted? Paul only speaks of adoption. Hmm
      Questions deserving answers...

      Please read Ephesians then when Jesus talked to Nicodemus about being born again. You might need to get the context straight.
