- I was fortunate enough to travel through Northern Ireland with a DJi Mavic Pro for a week. The results are just stunning.
Music: Abide With Me, sung by the John Brown University Cathedral Choir, recorded in St. Mark's Dundela Belfast.
wow... breathtaking views
It's a stunning country.
Hi Justin, would you be willing to sell any of your footage?
Of course!! Email me at justin.mertes@gmail.com to continue this conversation! Thanks :)
nicely done!
Well thanks!
amazing! how do you film 21:9? or do you crop it in post pro?
Watzkamedia Production thanks! I filled in 4K, and made the project 3440x1440.
Great vid 👍🏼
Thanks!
Very nice, what settings, filters etc did u use?
All of my color correcting was in FCPX. I always had 2 forms of color correction: 1 was my own, another was tinkering with the LUT Mavic_Pro_D-Log_LUT_maurosfilms I found online.
Hi, you did not use a nd filter, or did you? The footage is awesome, just a little jittery at some point, like the shutter speed was really really fast
You'e right, I did not use an ND filter.
And I'm not sure why it's jittery at those random points. I really hate that it is, but I have no idea what caused it. But, I will say, I've noticed with lots of different 4K videos that things are "jittery" when the window is smaller. This video, for instance: ruclips.net/video/go1Mglag7zA/видео.html. When I watch the first scene in full screen, it looks liquidly smooth. But when I return to the small window, I see lots of jitters.
it's because of the mavics low bitrate and h264 codec. Basically it records one full picture every 8 frames and all the frames inbetween just try to find the differences between that 8th frame and the next one. Thats how i think that worked.. dont take my word for it though. It can't really be fixed, but you can help it by lowering the shutter speed and not filming things that are too detailed and contrast rich!
Makes total sense. My only question is, why do I only notice this when viewing a small window, not when I'm viewing it full-screen?
I've also noticed this with other 4K footage I've shot in the past with non-mavic cameras: small windows look glitchy/jittery.
oh, that's a weird one, I have no idea why your PC would do that...
I have a Macbook Pro, on an LG display. Maybe it's something to do with this?
