combo deck. He have 2 creatures that can give him mana and with the "Jeskai Ascendancy" whenever he plays a noncreature spell untap all creatures and than all creatures gain +1/+1. He can loop the ability with the "Retraction Helix" in one creature and using the "Dragon Mantle" in another creature he draw a card and untap all creatures... He return to his hand the "Dragon Mantle" because the ability of "Retraction Helix". make the creature for him the power he wants and eventually find in the draws "Aqueous Form" and attack he win like this lol i hope you did understand.
Jeskai ascendancy allows him to untap his creatures when he plays a noncreature spell. retraction helix allows him to tap a creature to return a permanent to his hand. dragon mantle is a 1 mana permanent that lets him draw a card when it comes into play. he has several creatures that tap for mana. the combo goes like this: 1. he plays dragon mantle which draws a card, untaps his creatures(due to jeskai ascendancy). 2. taps a creature, using retraction helix, to return dragon mantle to his hand. 3. he taps a mana creature to play dragon mantle, which untaps his stuff and it all happens over and over again until he has all the cards he needs to end the game.
Lee Shi Tian put together a loop that lets him draw cards repeatedly. Dragon Mantle has "Whenever Dragon Mantle enters the battlefield, draw a card." The Retraction Helix he played right before that gave his creature "Tap: Return target nonland permanent to its owner's hand." The Jeskai Ascendancy says "Whenever you play a noncreature spell... untap [all creatures you control]." Between these three effects, and the creatures that he had that could tap for mana, Lee Shi Tian was able to repeatedly play Dragon Mantle and return it to his hand, allowing him to repeatedly draw cards.
You can find it here: magic.wizards.com/en/events/coverage/ptktk/top-standard-decks-o-z-2014-10-12 I did a quick check of the prices. Looks like it's around a $350 deck, most of it coming from Dig Through Time, Vault, Downfall, Thoughtsieze, and the Polluted Delta.
the deck was cheap. over the last couple weeks i bought vault and dig at under 3 dollars. downfall got as low as five over the summer and thoughtseize has been as low as 18 and it hasn't been that hard to accumulate them over the past year since they were in a big set. deltas will get cheaper and easier to come by as the weeks go by.
well 4 years ago i would have told you "man, he is a genuis player and rocks!" now..... Well, he could have totally been cheating considering he was recently just booted out of the hall of fame for marking card sleeves on tron lands in a tron deck.

He played nissa to turn his land into a creature, bounced it and kept replaying it and bouncing it with infinite mana to turn all his lands into creatures being pumped by jeskai ascendancy. He can also use retraction helix to bounce all his opponent's creatures and swing in for infinite.
Basically, whenever he casts a noncreature with ascendancy on board he untaps his creatures. He had to mana dorks on the battlefield and a 1 mana enchantment that draws him a card when it enters. The final piece of the puzzle is retraction helix. He taps a creature to bounce 1 mana enchantment and plays it untapping his creatures. Overall he nets a care. He keeps draeing until he finds a 0 mana card therefore netting infinite
Nr4747 it's a stupid saying. It's objectively better to be good than lucky. Extreme example: imagine a poker game where a guy draws a royal flush, but he's so bad at poker that he folds his hand. A talented player can get more value out of a bad hand than a bad player can get out of a good hand. Luck is great, but I'd rather be good than lucky.
KTFlaSh96 his kill card in the deck is Nissa, which requires 1 Dork, Ascendancy, helix in hand, 0 mana artifact in hand and 5 free mana. Most decks only need 1 Dork, Ascendancy, helix in hand, and 0 mana artifact in hand because Altar only costs 1. Not to mention questionable choices like tormenting voice or that horrendous sideboard.
Is here anyone notice that Yuuya game 2 can not cast the stoke the frame with only one red?I know it is not a big deal but still this is PT Top 8 matches, come on,pros!
does not change the result of his match. owen countered it anyways and if yuuya didnt cast stoke, he casts strike putting owen to 3. then either stoke or charm is lethal and he would tap out properly that time.
Shi Jian even judges and pros will make slight messups. also because they are very experienced they play incredibly fast so if judges are watching these guys play without any hitches they kinda just stay out of their way.
What gets me is the deck is so easy to take apart; this deck being so devastating is why I think Stain the Mind is amazingly underrated right now. It wrecks combo decks and can easily pick apart control/burn decks.
+survivor “survivor expert” winfield That's Nissa, Worldwaker's second Loyalty ability. It states, "+1: Untap up to four target forests." What Lee Shi Tian did was use her first Loyalty ability, which states, "+1: Target land you control becomes a 4/4 elemental creature with trample. It's still a land." Since he can loop infinite times thanks to Retraction Helix, he's able to loop Nissa infinite times, use her first Loyalty ability, make Elemental that pretty have "X/X" due to Jeskai Ascendancy untap ability and can attack for infinite damage.
this match aged badly
Scott was given a mic again. Anybody else remember him telling us to join him for pro tour Avacyn restored..... at the gatecrash PT lol
3:13: obviously because he just scryed with magma jet and didnt want to crack a fetchland...

At 13:24 how did he get infinite mana?
How many times do you think Marshall said sweat
No one still knows where I could find Owen's List? It seems cool and quite cheap.

Magic: The Cancelling
Why didn't he cast glare targeting ascendency?
thanks =O didn't realized that
why is watanabe so good, always see him top 8 protours.
well 4 years ago i would have told you "man, he is a genuis player and rocks!" now..... Well, he could have totally been cheating considering he was recently just booted out of the hall of fame for marking card sleeves on tron lands in a tron deck.
Can someone explain how lee shi won ? Lol I got a bit lost
combo deck.
He have 2 creatures that can give him mana and with the "Jeskai Ascendancy" whenever he plays a noncreature spell untap all creatures and than all creatures gain +1/+1.

TheMrFrankov Jeskai Ascendansy дает +1/+1 за каждый прок, скорее всего он просто убил его
Никита Зинин кариатиды не могут в атаку

God that just looked miserable, losing that third match to ascendency is such a feel bad.
Why didn't garner just glare of heresy the ascendancy?
Sorcery Speed
Oh thanks I missed that
Lol both of these players are banned now
Can anyone tell me how Shi Tian get infinite mana? I really miss that part :c

Its all about LAUNCH THE FLEETS THO, AMIRIGHT?
Wow, the turn at 41:00...
Better lucky then good :)
Implying that Lee Shi Tian isn't a good Magic player (I know it's just a saying, I simply don't like it).
Nr4747 it's a stupid saying. It's objectively better to be good than lucky. Extreme example: imagine a poker game where a guy draws a royal flush, but he's so bad at poker that he folds his hand. that win of lee,... :D EPIC
look at all those Jorts
6:18 wow :D
Lee's take on the ascendancy combo is very sketchy to me
XxMrShowtimeXx how is it sketchy?

I know there is no difference. But what I tring to say is in a PT,does even the judge allow this kind of mistake?
Shi Jian even judges and pros will make slight messups. also because they are very experienced they play incredibly fast so if judges are watching these guys play without any hitches they kinda just stay out of their way.
Mantis Rider, being a red creature, can tap for the second red mana.
QibingZero ... not sure if srs... no it cant lol.
Dolphin!
Yolo
That stupid goddamn combo deck... Poor Garnier. The most unbelievable top deck I've seen in a long time lost him the game.
What gets me is the deck is so easy to take apart; this deck being so devastating is why I think Stain the Mind is amazingly underrated right now. It wrecks combo decks and can easily pick apart control/burn decks.
japan Rules
First
That Li SHIT Tian guy was so inappropriate.
Second
Lee shi tian cheated. Nissa untaps forests.
+survivor “survivor expert” winfield That's Nissa, Worldwaker's second Loyalty ability. It states, "+1: Untap up to four target forests." It's funny how people who know PEEP about the deck default to "CHEATER!" lol... don't be so judgemental bro
+soulblacknight Who's judgemental? Me? O.O
Jaycee Hampton not you
So annoying burn strategies
