This really helped! I have a begonia that is wanting to be repotted, but living in an RV (Caravan) I don't have room for a bigger pot. This gave me what I needed! Thank You!
thank you so very much for doing this video. I just discovered you a bit ago. I know I am a year late but so , so sorry about your dog. we are always so blessed to have them.
Very informative, thank you. What about moist level of soil and temperature/light level when propagating using the leaves? Should the soil be moistened at the beginning like with the rhizomes than left alone, or should it be rewatered now and then? Should the container be closed? Should itbe kept at a particular light exposure?
With Bergonias, propagation of the leaves, there are two methods that work really well. Placing the leaf stem in water ( you will get rooting) or placing the leaf in stem in soil. When placing it in soil or water move the leaf in to an area where you have indirect light and warmth. In the case of the water propagation, keep checking the water level and also change the water at least once a week. This is to supply the leaf with fresh oxygen and also old water could contain bacteria. In the case of stem soil propagation, once again a warm area and indirect light, and keep the soil evenly moist and not soggy. Ensure that the container has drainage hole. You will find that once the leaf has rooted, tug on it, and you will feel that the roots are well anchored. Rhizome propagation, once you have divided the rhizome, let it callus 48hrs. In the episodes I normally so a fast forward. Place it in the propagation container ( with drainage holes)cover with soil and lightly sprinkle and again in a warm area and out of direct sun. Keep the soil evenly moist not soggy. If in the case you want a green house effect to quicken the propagation, you could cover the plant in a zip lock bag or place it in one of those recycled plastic container. The bag/ container will steam up, so you will need to open it up every 2 -3 days and wipe the moisture. Again same principle place in warm area out of direct sun and lightly moist soil keep checking the moisture level to avoid rot. I hope it is clear..good luck and keep me posted
During the cold months one can propagate Begonias and keep them indoors for example in a warm kitchen. However, propagation will be slower in the winter as the days are shorter and plants need warmth and sunlight for propagation. And it is for this reason Spring recommended as days are longer, which means it has access to more sunlight and warmth.
This is very late, but I teared up for you and your dog 😭
Thank you Willow it means a lot to me. Sending blessings.

Learn a lot.❤️🙏
Thank you means alot
Can this be done at any time of the year or does it have to be done in spring?
