  • Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh (Flute) performs Port na bPúcaí (Slow Air 0:00) before joining the group Danú for a set of tunes - The Highest Hill in Sligo [composed by Ed Reavy] (Reel 1:15), Garrison Road [composed by Oisín McAuley] (Reel 2:17) & Reichswall Forest [composed by Dan R. McDonald] (Reel 3:12). This clip was recorded at the 2007 Gradam Ceoil TG4 Music Awards, which took place in Cork Opera House.

    Beautiful.. pity the mix didnt bring out Muireanns tin whistle a bit better.. but beautiful music

      Aren’t they mostly northerners? Sligo, Ulster people? They specialize in uptempo music! If you want thoughtful melodies and steady tempo ... Martin Hayes. Paddy Fahey. Liz and Yvonne Kane. Galway and Clare musicians. What they lack in speed they more than make up for in complex melodies. Modal, funky flat keys too.

      @@erikm8372 No, they are not "Northerners" apart from fiddler Oisin MacAuley from Donegal. The Doorley brothers are from Dublin, and the others are all from geographically south of that. "Danu" energy" - indeed. A great band.
