I'm always so impressed with your videos. The Typhon Grom with stock electronics seems to work well at a skate park. It's so light that I imagine it would hold up well in such a brutal environment. I couldn't resist buying 2 of them. I think the electronics from a Mini B would be perfect for this little guy. Arrma has a selection of 8 pinions and matched motor mounts with fixed mesh. GPM sells an adjustable motor mount but it's difficult to set mesh. For me anyways. If memory serves me right the stock motor has an odd shaft size and it's a mod 0.8 spur so you will need a pinion gear that matches. Probably simple stuff for you but not for me. I just watched a guy log 76 mph with his. I'll be happy with 50mph. It's a super cool RC but you could spend 3x the original cost of the car on upgrades.

I have rc’s that go 20, 30, 50, and 65+mph. All have their place and unique driving experience, and I can have as much fun with a 20mph as with a 50mph…..just a different kind. They don’t all need rockets strapped to them. In fact, while I’m happy with one at 20, I just recently upgraded another that was a little sub 50 because I felt it needed a bit more for what I wanted out of it.
I guess that’s a long way of saying I don’t mind this at 21mph, as long as it handles well and is durable (or doesn’t take too much to make it durable). Tuning from a solid base to get the type of performance I’m looking for is the fun part. Polishing a turd is not.

I KNOW I'll be getting one...and, obviously, upgrading to brushless. Regarding the rear wing support, if it was a 1-piece design, I don't think it would snap as easily as you are thinking. With a larger/heavier RC, yes...but, as small/light as the Typhon Grom is, I think it would survive easily enough...but, a 1-piece design would have been a molding problem, which is why I'm thinking they choose to go with the 2-piece design. When you look at race buggies, most of them don't Even have that cross-brace, so this having one is a nice addition.
