    Hey I really appreciate the information I have been bass fishing for 3 years now, picked it up around 30 years old. One video I’d really like to see is rod selection for different type of techniques. I have trouble finding and understanding what rod to use and there is so much competing information.

    Hello Randy. I really appreciate the knowledge that you share with us regular guy’s.
    I have watched a couple of your braid to floro videos. I have been sucked into the thinking this is the way to go.
    I love the feel I get with braid. It’s hard for me to walk away from it when Carolina Rigging.
    This technique works really good in my home lake during the summer months.
    The problem that I have been having is my braid is breaking at the swivel. I use a floro leader from the swivel to my bait.
    I use 10 lb. braid to the swivel and 10 lb. floro to my lure.
    I drag my rig up rocky drop offs. The rocks are effecting the braid as well as the weight sliding up and down.
    What would you suggest I do? Since I am tied to a swivel, should I still use only floro!
    Any advice would be truly appreciated. Keep up the good work!

      @randomschmo5778 2 года назад +1

      Hey, i'm definitely not as knowledgeable as Randy, but just put a bead or 'sinker bumper' in between the swivel and your weight...that will stop the weight from weakening your knot. Happy fishing. :)

    Good stuff. Have been drop shot fishing almost exclusively this Spring and, I almost agree with you. But, instead of reeling slowly, I drag the bait like a jig and let off. I start with the line snug and raise the rod directly towards me. They can't stand it and, I probably get 90 of my bites like this! Can't wait to try the shorter leader this Summer!

    I fish from my yak, I don't have any electronics so I have never fished vertical with dropshot. I really just use dropshot cast & retrieve, worms & swimbaits. I don't shake it either just retrieve & stop every once n while. It is one of my favorites, I have had a dropshot set up on every trip out past 2 yrs, has been very productive for me some days. Definitely good tip, will have to try shorter leader

It must be facilities.AS to why it has never been fished in a big time pro tournament on TV. Slow reeling up AND slow drop too. Baitcasters work good for slowly letting the bait down. Put it on freespool and let the line out slowly by very gently thumbing the spool. The fish see the bait very slowly coming down towards them til they can't stand it. Then jerk it up.... BANG ! reaction bite ! Works for Walleye, bass, pike etc. By doing this, you'll be working the entire water column. The fish might be high in the water column. Why only fish one depth ?
