  • Alacati, or #Alaçatı in Turkish, is a pretty little town in Western Turkey. Known for its sandy beaches, traditional two-story stone houses, winemaking tradition, citrus fruits, mastic gum, and windsurfing, #Alacati is sure to impress you!
As Turkey Welcomes You team, we went to Alacati, #Izmir in October to enjoy the last bits of sunshine and prepare an #AlacatiGuide for those of you looking to visit this charming destination. Our Alacati experience was smooth overall with the cool breeze of the #Aegean sea, delicious Mediterranean food, and flower-infused cobbled backstreets that are as old as the town itself.
With its convenient location of Alacati, the Greek island Chios is only a ferry ride away. If you are planning to visit #Turkey and Greece at the same time on your next summer trip be sure to check out the online ferry schedule that is updated every week.
#VisitAlaçatı to discover the prettiest town in Turkey and more in our video! Special thanks to Alaçatı Tourism Association for all the support during our visit.

I’m finding Turkey more and mor fascinating by the day. Incredible history and one of the first to create the first steps towards our present civilization. Gorgeous, fabulous and mesmerizing.

Alaçati, as well as Çeşme and Eski Foça are old Greek towns whose beautiful old stone houses, churches and windmills, which can be seen in this video, as well as the wooden doors, citrus fruit trees and mastic gum ( brought over from the Greek island of Chios) were all built and established by Greek people under Ottoman rule. Unfortunately the Greek people who created these towns, architecture and industries were forced to leave their homes in the early part of the twentieth century.
It was nice seeing a Turkish person saying thank you in Greek to you and it's also great to see that the town has been mostly well-restored, even if some say that it has become a bit too touristy and expensive now. Also, Greek Nobel prize winning laureate George Seferis spent much time in Alaçati and was born in the nearby village of Urla.
It would be right if you gave some honest historical background to the places you feature. Thanks for the videos.

Kill the music- extremely annoying, distracting and unnecessary. It doesn't even match with the vibe of the town. I turned off the volume and then skimmed through it and it was mostly about shopping and food, not about why this town is so pretty as the title claims.

I just got back from 45 days trip to Turkiye. I wished you and people like you stop exaggerating about it.
What you fail to talk about is the amount of trash and pollution and over population in the cities and not to mention huge numbers of homeless cats and dogs with no shelter that breaks your heart no matter where you go.

Alacati is very beautiful but only for a short trip. Bring your food and drink with you. Only the stupid or very rich people eat and drink there at the enormously overpriced places. These restaurants and cafes must be punished!
