    I still have my kona coiler! amazing and durable! Ive put thousands of miles on it all types of riding lots of urban offroading and my girl _still_ has the original bushings on it... bought it new and it was worth every cent! Multiple sets of tires brakes and pads and a few chains later. Kona is 100% worth it and its awesome you got a stinky! I need to replace my gears and cassette soon because the teeth are all too rounded out! Everything else has been solid af and im getting the hayes brakes again this winter. I could not have been happier with it! I have a bunch of other bikes but my Kona is my hands down favorite.

    Just bought a 2010 stinky! First real mtb ever, just getting into it at age 39, quit drinking little over 8 months ago and need to get my cardio back and get into shape. Cool bike, great story, nice to see some kindness left in the world still. grip it n rip it

    oh lord, how lucky you are, that's the setup of most common DH and Freeride shredders at those times, Marzocchi upfront, fox at the rear, Kona frame xD. Those were the days' bro

      True that, to get a nine speed derailer from the local bike store they said it’s on back order till 2023!!! I’m probably going to get a new cassette and make it at eight or 12 speed we’ll see what I can do with it soon…

      I dread the day I have to pedal this bike uphill lol, but I still got to get some parts for it to get it rolling LBS said nine speed derailer‘s are on back order till 2023!!! So I might get one used off eBay or I might try something completely different… not sure yet. It’s crazy at first it you couldn’t get a bike, now you can’t get parts for a bike 🤬🤬🤬 I need this thing to be rolling now! Haha

      @@TimberRides has a sram X 9 gear shifter and cassette to match. If it’s to much of a pain to find what I need I might just get a hole new set up for the gears…

      @@mtbridersanonymous9152 hey man! I also have a 2005 Kona Stinky and just recently went through upgrading parts on it. You can use a Zee 10 speed derailleur and modify it to have to correct cable pull ratio to work with a 9 speed cassette and shifter. One of the pros to using the 10 speed from Zee is its a clutch derailleur so no more chain slap. And since most everyone is on to 11 and 12 speeds, you can get the Zee stuff for pretty damn cheap! I also put on a Zee crankset. For the forks, I couldnt find a seal kit for the original forks, so I bought a set of RST Killah forks off of a Suron E-bike. Works amazingly for the price. You get use to the uphill with this bike as well. Its just a bit brutal to start is all. Once youre use to it, its like any other bike! Enjoy the new bike man! I’ve had mine for 7+ years.

    What's the frame size? And how tall are you?

    • @mtbridersanonymous9152
      @mtbridersanonymous9152  2 года назад

      There’s no marking on the bike for the size but I measured and it’s 15 inches, so it’s a small. Also I think there was only a couple sizes for this bike when it was made. Either way I’m too big for it so I will have some fun with it for a while but then will be repurposing it also
