In 1989 I was 8 yrs old and went to Llandudno with my grandma&grandpa. I wore a bright pink shell suit that I thought was the absolute bomb and was chased by a huge swan in it.!. We also went tobogganing. (My gran is still going at age 97 & I'm now 40 so feel truly blessed). Great footage guys X :)
Depends on what month to be fair. I was 7 in 89 till 18th of June then I was 8. 😁 Where you from, I'm in county of Kent between Dartford/Bexleyheath way! I really miss the 80's. 😭
@@nikkijackson2981 You say nr Preston in Lancashire, I know Preston and near it are part of Lancashire lol Have you ever been to any parts of Kent?? Last time I was in Lancashire went to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Tower/Madame Tussauds(remember when it was Louis Tussauds), and one of my fav Water Parks-Sandcastle. 😁 That was way back in late summer of 2018!
Still remember the inside of the Kursaal and the rides and machines plus the old studio display behind the window ( this was the mid late 60s). Taking a ride to the end of the pier in those green and cream train's too.
l grew up in a couple of villages just outside Sarfend', so it was the main nearby town...l lived there from 1946 to 1978/9. The kursaal fairground went long ago and became a housing estate. Peter Pan's Playground is also gone. Queen Victoria's statue was moved from the top of Pier Hill to its present location on Clifton Parade. I've heard it said that the council moved her because she was pointing to the location of a Public Convenience..! Sarfend' the East end Londoner's playground...

Does anyone have any footage or pictures of The Fantasy Dome that used to be there?, it was my favourite attraction as a kid but all memories of it seem to have been lost, and there isn't much footage of it anywhere sadly
It was always multicultural. Where do you think the Vikings, Saxons etc came from? Non white people were around in the 80s. They’ve been around in high numbers since after the war. You can’t see them here as they probably favoured other seaside towns.
You’re talking about Britain. There is no 100% native person left on this island. All mixed. If you’re saying white as opposed to others then Europe stretches to Russia. Northern Indians have Russian ancestry which is why they have European genes. Or are they not included because they’re not the same colour but share the same genes? Who went to their countries for hundreds of years first?
Lol I used to live in Southend and we had a caravan in Walton on the naze.... Walton was definitely nicer for a holiday.... To much trouble in Southend

Hi Brian while Peter Pan's playground is gone in name, it's now called Adventure Island.
Who remembers the Wild Mouse Southend in the 80's.

Lived just off the sea front 88 - 98.
The part of Southend that nobody who lives in Southend ever goes to more than once or twice a decade unless it's for work.
i have lived in Saaafend since 1998 and very rarely go to the sea front.
So true 😂

Southend 🤩
delightful!
We had that crooked house in Southport. Wonder if its the same one or there were two exactly the same.
Nice video but some music wouldn't have gone a miss!
Why can I not hear any audio on this video?
Maybe the title should say Southend on sea unitary authority within Essex soon to be the City of Southend on sea.
A simplier time
When arcades had video games in them
Ah, The Foresters. Now what was that pub famous for? 🤔🤣
I can hear no sound!
