I've been wanting a model of this ship ever since I learned of it about a year ago on Drachinifel's youtube channel. So happy you made the comparison between the sets! :D

My grandfather served on HMS Warspite during WW2 in the med and Malta...The ship was hit and my grandfather had severe burns to his legs as he ran across a burning deck...I have his Royal Navy military records...I will get one of these kits (it would be wrong not to wouldn't it?) so your video is a great help

That’s amazing! Always awesome when you can add personal knowledge like that to history. I am glad the video helped. Let me know which one you end up getting.

I’ll keep that in mind. I own the Tamiya one, I’ll keep my eye out for the Hobby Boss one at a decent price.

Hope to get a few more similar ones made soon as I’m back to pushing out videos in a couple of months.

The turrets on the trumpeter one also seems..."fatter" than the academy one. Also Trumpeter is 1942 and Academy is 1943, so some of the differences could be down to refits/repairs/upgrades. There's probably also a bit of inaccuracy in the source material they have available. I'm going for the Academy one, it sounds like it's the better fit for my skills.

I agree with you. I was actually thinking which one I would rather build and I think it's the Academy as well. I've had terrible experiences with other Trumpter 1/350 scale ships so Academy would be my starting point as well.

Dude, do more PLANNING of your videos before you start recording, stop making it up as you go. I'm not saying you need to have everything scripted out in massive detail, but you do need to have a specific sequence of steps you will be covering set up before you hit "Record" and know in advance what you're going to talk about in each of those steps. Waiting for you to decide on-camera what you're going to talk about, then spend the time getting the parts in position, and THEN decide which bits of detail you want to contrast and compare and in what order you're going to do it is, frankly, boring as hell. There may be real value in the observations you make, but the time you waste in getting around to making them dilutes their value because your viewers' attention has begun to wander off.

yes but both kits look pretty bad anyway; especially those gun barrels and lack of PE.
