    After fixing my girlfriends 2008 Saab Aero XWD sedan with the 2.8l v6 turbo and driving it around for a little bit made me really fall in love with it. I was watching the auctions and I stumbled upon this 2006 Saab 9-3 Aero Sportcombi wagon with a 6 speed manual and the 2.8 turbo! It needed some love in the front end, so I kept my eyes out on craigslist and got lucky enough to find one the same color with some engine damage! Follow along as I replace the cv axle, intercooler, condenser, and front end parts to make this Saab great again!

      Definitely get one! I have a saab 9-5 2.3L turbo in manual. I got it for 1,000 dollars and there was NOTHING wrong with it except an old battery. I've only owned maybe 10 cars but this saab is by far my favorite! I forget which saab it is but one of them accelerates faster from like 40 to 100mph than the porsche 911 from the same year.

    You have me dying for a 2.8l turbo. I never knew they had them until a couple years ago. Definitely going to pick one up after ok able to down size on cars I own. That's 2.8l is quick from what you showed! Like you said once you own one or drive one you understand saabs. I have to start looking and pick up one and a parts car like you did. Super smart idea. You got those cars for a steal!!! I wish I had an auction connection!

    What kind of support do these later Saabs have, anyway? Is the last 9-3 close enough in relation to the other Epsilon II cars (like the Chevrolet Malibu and Cadillac XTS currently in production) that you can still get parts from a GM dealer? GM will no longer be obligated to support the last of the Saabs after 2022, but if it is close enough to the other Epsilon IIs, you could potentially still get parts for this thing for a long time.

  • @EWFGamingChannel

    Those 9-3 XWD are REALLY hard to find in good condition and also costs a lot of money for a decent one, atleast here in Sweden. Take good care of it. They are also pretty easy to get over 300hp in.

    you know you can polish plastic, backlights and frontlights that has hardplastic is perfect to polish, even the glass.. make sure to use the finest polishing exp: "Meguiars Mirror Glaze 205" if it's really bad you can start with the medium grit, and go down to the finest one.. ofc it will be way easier if you wet sand the lights first to remove the biggest inperfections and then polish them instead of clearcoating them that i have never heard of before :)

    Saabs are awesome cars I wish they never went out of business. They are the only semi-luxury sports car you can get that does it right. You don't get all of the extra weight to lug around of a full luxury sedan like an Audi or Mercedes, but it's still enough to be nicer inside than say a Lexus or Acura. They are pretty low too with pretty wide tires stock and they have some power with the turbo. The only downside really is front wheel drive.

      For any vehicle, some regions just get more or less of a given trim level based on demand for it, and consumer willingness to pay extra for the features
      if it's always cold where you live, heated seats/mirrors/steering wheels might seem standard on more of the cars (ie: compare the needs during winters in Miami Florida to even- well, Colorado..)

    • @00mustangaddict
      @00mustangaddict 7 лет назад +1

      The the 9-3 Aero Sport Combi he bought will clearly over power that with just a stage 1 tune. I have an 06 9-5 "sport" which was the aero package, but no 9-5 aero package was produced in 06 for the 9-5 and I also have an 06 9-3 aero and the 2.8l v6 is 100% the better motor! Lots more torque and its a lot smoother engine as well.
