thanks for the guides, duty support isn't available for 3.0 and 4.0 duties yet and I'm trying to do the best I can but people still laugh at you for making mistakes as a first timer, I'm considering dropping this game until DS is available for all duties
If anyone laughs at you for failing a mechanic when you're learning, tell them I say they're a stinky poopoo head and they can fight me after school.

did this the 1st time as a tank
tfw you know you're doing something wrong but you don't know what exactly is the wrong thing and all party members are Japanese OTL ( they were telling me about something, turned out it was the snowballs thing lol obviously I'm not used to rotating any boss around as a tank so I was completely clueless untill this video ;D )
but idk why I don't remember seeing any snowballs when I was doing this dungeon as another role OTL maybe I was paying too much attention on "don't kill the small guy, kill the big guy" thing

No worries. I see a lot of groups just brute force this boss these days (which is still slower) but ignoring the Snowball mechanic is not that uncommon - though I feel people just don't know how it works.

went in blind (as ive done for every instance so far, always watch your videos afterwards to actually understand what was going on) and had some mvp use a 'grab' move to pull my ass behind the icicle before the boss bit me lol.

I'm a new player and only dungeons are delight to me in this part of the game since quests are really boring. Is story (and questing) going to be better in Heavensward and further expansions?

The begining of HW was a little eh but it's been some years since I did it. The back half was good though and I've liked what I've seen of Stormblood thus far.
So im watching this now, after being told I was tanking this fight wrong repeatedly by a party member, which led to me just quitting as I was getting overly stressed out and struggling to cope, just to find out I was doing it right the entire damn time.
50% of the time I tank correctly 100% of the time.
Yeah that's the issue. A lot of mechanics nowadays are just skipped or brute forced. Which sucks really.
So thats why Fenrir bit me.
I'm a bit confused, has this fight been changed recently? In my version of the Fenrir fight, the three icicles drop not at players but at triangular positions around the boss, and create circular AOEs, not line AOEs. I looked up a guide to try and find what indicates which icicle is the "safe" one, as two of the three detonate and freeze people trying to stand behind them.
A lot of dungeons were updated & reworked in 6.1. There's a good chance this had changes too so the information might not be so accurate anymore unfortunately. At least all of the changes I have noticed have been in making the fights/dungeons even easier so at least it shouldn't be too hard hopefully.
Just fyi to new players watching this, it’s unfortunately outdated. Square redid this dungeon with the last 2 bosses. Completely done differently. I watched this, went in and wiped on the last boss xD he now drops 4 icicles and you have to hide behind the correct one or you get frozen and take massive damage. The yeti boss has no adds, and the snowball mechanic is different. You take massive damage but somehow I managed to heal through it all. But we didn’t do anything correct lol.
so how do we get to the athrerite there and find the passage ?
This dungeon is part of the main story quest. Simply playing through those quests will lead you to unlocking it.
