On PSVR2 the graphics look more realistic because of HDR. People don't realize how important it is. As for the textures, geometry, etc., the PSVR2 and PC versions are simply the same and could look much better, especially on a good PC. You can see where the game's budget went and that the game is rooted in the Quest mobile chip, but it still manages to impress with beautiful views, good texture filtering, gore and good art design.
@BadRobo82 FOV and HDR are the biggest shocking downgrade that i noticed when i used the quest 3. I couldnt believe how much of a difference that makes specially as I was made to think that pancake would be like this magical crystal clear image. All i got was a sharp but dull and dim and washed out display on quest. Lol and quest 2 and 3S dont even bother mentioning them lol
Strangely enough, specifically on a Pc, if you play on a Pc, then in this case I saw that Quest 3 via cable via Meta Quest link looks better than on a Psvr 2 helmet. But I haven't tried the Ps5 version. It 's just that on a Pc, the picture in terms of clarity , clarity , looks better to me on Quest 3. But for example, in Re 7 VR mode on a Pc, through a Psvr 2 helmet, the picture is much better than through Quest 3.
@Rostovgenchik the ps5 with psvr2 is on a whole different level as it uses Dynamic foveated rendering. That gives it a massive edge to surpass most PCs. To get a comparable experience on PCVR you really need brute force to compensate for lack of DFR because fresnel lenses tend to be more mushy than pancake without DFR. That is why quest 2 and quest 3S are so vastly inferior to psvr2 whilw all three are fresnel lenses
@@ZFCaio I didn't write anything like that, you must be delusional. Did Quest hold the game back from being better in terms of graphics, scope and without the limitations that Quest has that must be taken into account when designing a game? Absolutely. Whether Quest is holding back VR in general is a very complicated and debatable topic.
Based on all the comparisons, it sounds like psvr2 version is the best overall version to experience this game. Visuals as good as PC at base level but OLED HDR makes it excel for me over all other versions. Secondly the haptics and controller features on psvr2 make it unmatched in immersion. I appreciate that devs did a good job on all versions making it optimized however I think anyone who has access to all versions would and should play this on PSVR2
I have a PS VR 2 and the biggest problem with the PS VR 2 is your tethered. Especially in a game like this. My first headset was an oculus rift which was tethered then I got a quest 2, then a quest 3 and a PS VR2. I bought behemoth for PCVR because there’s way too much movement in this game for me personally to be tethered.
People are starting to realize that OLED+fresnel is still better than LCD+pancake despite Metas marketing push to say otherwise. Don't get me wrong, pancakes eliminates the hassle of finding the sweet spot, which is huge. But there is no "just find the sweet spot" to get actually blacks (simulate darkness) out of LCD panels.
@steffendetrick I bought a 20GB, 6ft extension cable, and have it hooked up to my Kiwi cable management set. Now I only notice the cable if I spin in the same direction 20+ times without reversing. Set up cost like 30 bucks total.
@ I can feel the cable hanging from the side of my head the entire time, and I’m constantly stepping on it. It’s just hard to go back to a wired headset after playing wireless. Honestly, I bought a PS VR2 because of the few exclusives my quest 3 is still my daily driver.
@steffendetrick great that you have both. You get to enjoy both. As the above guy said if wire really bothers you that much, the a 30 dollar investment in a pulley system is going to be well worth it. You get a lot of benefits on psvr2 over quest for AAA VR gaming. No better place to play. For me wire doesnt bother me at all, i never turn 360 and i use analog stick turning in 15 degree increments.
The fact that a console is this close to a pc at ultra is insane. I really hope this new sales boost the psvr2 has had keeps up because the thing is a beast and if Sony can see a potential for profit in making games for it then we’ll get some absolute bangers in the future
????, foveated rendering still can't help the weaker gpu and cpu in a Ps5 or PS5pro match a PC with something like a rtx 3070 class gpu or higher. And any type of upscaling, even DLSS doesn't look very good in VR.
I have played both versions using Psvr2. And they looked the same for me. End up refunded the steam version. Also next time you guy is compare do not use Quest 3 use Psvr2. That way you have a more close comparison.
I'm playing it on Ultra as well, but on HTC Vive Pro 2 and graphics looks not that bright what you have at the Quest 3, but this might be comparing Appels with Bananas. Might be an idea for a better test if you try the PSVR 2 at your PC and check then again.
Only thing that would force me to buy one over the other would be eye tracking or other other feedback the psvr2 has. I love the psvr for those features.
Does anyone see a blue reflection inside the headset when you have a dark image with a strong light on the top of the lences (for example in the ps menu and you look down)? I noticed it after a week and it's anti-immersive, i don't know if it's normal
I see what you mean by 'more clarity' on the pc-vr side. I think that might be the brightness tricking this into belief. It seems the psvr actually has more detail. If you freeze on 8:56 you can clearly see the diffference. Hands down detail for the win on PSVR. But i agree overall both platforms work well here. Also, ramping up brigtness can be achieved if really desired in psvr. But the deeper tones feel more cinematic - less gamey, imho. Even see the example in draw-distance @ 9:34 (with psvr showing better detail further away). A good comparison video here. Thanks!
@@robarmstrong5404 I just learned that even the devs say pSvr is preferred. That seals it for me as the overall 'Best Way To Play'. Still though im sure a souped up pc does pretty close. Seems though it pushes PC's hard, as even this Video shows the PC stutter.
